How long does the cap stay hot for after use and is it necessary to remove it soon after use, or is it just if I want to smoke another bowl in quick succession that I would be removing it?
Don’t hold me too this since I haven’t tried or timed it, but thinking you could remove the cap by the very bottom using the notches a minute and a half or two after last draw. Would have to be careful handling it too. When I’m done, I just leave my abv in there till next time, upside down :zombie:
Edit- never mind, still real hot after 2 min cool down

Over a month in with my Tempest and I am about as happy with it as I expected to be, my incredibly high expectations have been fully met. I was a bit worried about cleaning/losing the balls but it has gone reasonably without issue, only one ball has been a casualty and I will blame that in a hole between the tiles.

I've just been rocking the rosewood stem since I got it, it just looks too good.
I do have a question though. if you are in the UK what do you use to lubricate the O-rings after you have done a clean? I have finally used the last of the little pot that came with my Dynavap a couple of years ago.

Donut hook dry rig and 14mm adapter.....both created by @Highartisan. Perfect mate for the Tempest.

is this referring to some adjustable airflow in the head of the device? to control air intake? is there any detailed info on how to adjust it? Every day I'm learning tons about this device haha.
Yeah the head has 4 air intakes so you can open them up or close them down as needed, it's adjusted via the steel sleeve on the head, the one with the two lines on it.

Then you've got the usual airflow adjustment on the stem.

ah yes im familiar with the revolve gen 2 system! i love my glass sleeve with a tiny bit of stoner engineering i found a way to collect id say 95% of the reclaim both off the spiral cooler and the glass sleeve. for the spiral cooler i basically use my silicone dab container to wipe the walls clean.

The thc carts i get in my state have these silicone bottoms on the 510 connection. when you begin to use the cart people typically throw them away. But for me those silicone pieces are the same diameter as the glass sleeve! I use a dynavap condenser that sits around as a tool to push the silicone piece through the glass sleeve collecting every last drop i then push the silicone piece out just enough so i can scrape the glob into my dab container with no mess. If links are allowed to be posted ill post my reddit post which shows me cleaning my stem its amazing i have over 3 grams of reclaim i weighed it yesterday my silicone container.

Nice, I usually just dunk mine in hot milk once a week. Does the job nicely.

Those wee silicone plugs look handy though

i tried stem milk unfortunately the crazy thing is edibles don't affect me i must have some high tolerance because i had to take 1.25 grams of reclaim i weighed my container before and after and put that huge 1.25 gram glob in my hot coco i felt a mild high nothing comparable to the head rush i normally get while vaping.

but ya the silicone plugs work great! i lost count of how many grams I've collected because when i get anywhere near 4 grams i do end up taking 1 gram or more and putting it into some hot coco. I normally sandwich tiny globs in my dynavap tip it vapes well too

Thanks for your detailed replies, I really appreciate it!

Is it possible to buy dosing capsules or a second bowl perhaps so if I wanted to take it outside I could maybe pre-load some?

Do you think the ispire wand is a necessity or a good investment maybe? I've ordered a torch flame for the Tempest, but I was thinking of maybe getting the wand.

I might try the torch first and see how I get on!
Ok, I wouldn't necessarily recommend this, but you could theoretically put the Tempest on the full bowl setting and use one of these from VGoodiEZ as a dosing cap. There's also a version from Ed's TNT that's a little sturdier but has less airflow. IDK if the overall experience will be as good, though.

If I get the chance this weekend, I'll fiddle with my Tempest and see if I can get it to move between the half- and full-bowl settings; I have the pre-release version with a bowl screen that's out of spec, and they're reportedly difficult to move around. If I'm successful, I'll try it with the Dynavap dosing cap and report back.

Just a thought, it could be more to do with the way your gut processes THC, as it goes through a different metabolic pathway. You could try mixing with some veg oil, maybe MCT would be best, strong as possible, just enough oil to be able to pour it, make it liquid. Then take it sublingually. Normally you'd expect a few ml's to absorb in a couple of minutes or so, and you should start to feel it quite quickly after that.
Maybe it's no better, but if the problem is gut metabolism, that could be a good alternative to at least try (and it saves waiting that hour or so).

@Brenyo Any update on when your leather pouches will be available?

I'm dying to order a wooden sleeve so curious if it's worth the wait or not.

Thanks

My Tempest arrived two days ago and wow. After months of dreaming about what it’d feel like to use, it’s so cool to finally have a real relationship with the device. It really is something special. I have two quick questions, and then a show-and-tell.

Question 1: What is this black clip thing that came with the device?

Question 2: Sometimes when the Tempest is heating up in my wand I hear a high pitched squeaking sound. Anyone knows what that is? Mainly just curious.

Now for the show-and-tell. Funnily enough, despite getting a beautiful purple heat shield and a nice wooden stem, my preferred stem has been placing the Tempest cooling unit and mouthpiece onto an MVS body:

You make a pretty big sacrifice on the airflow and customization front, but the vapor feels fluffier and tastier to me than any other configuration I tried. Also super important to me, it feels great in the hand, it has a real nice balance and weight to it. And I think it looks pretty cool too. It gives me this feeling that my Tempest is not just a tool, not just a device, but an instrument haha

If anyone else wants to give it a shot, a bit of advice: I’m not exactly sure why, but rotating the mouth piece does affect the airflow, even though the DRC tube doesn’t line up with the MVS airport. Take the time to dial it in.
