Discontinued The Sublimator

I have a fine screen from the PV variety pack that stays secure just above the ridge, and also use the stock sub screen on top which dumps with each bowl as it is a bit looser. I'm finding this to be a good combo, with the thick stock screen helping the dump (and thermal equilibrium?) and the fine screen keeping my sublimate smooth and clear. Before wedging the fine screen in below, the sublimate had a bit more texture to it, and I often found the odd bit of ABV.

That happened to me sometimes sometimes when I just used the stock screen loose, now that it's wedged in to place no more particulates.

I cant get any of my screens to wedge in like that. I have plabtevapes sub screens and I can't wedge those either. Mine just lay on top and come out with every dump. Kinda a pain in the ass.

I used it like that for a month or so, the good part is screen maintenance is easy that way! The first time I tried to wedge it, it was a pain and took me like an hour or something, tweaking the edges up with needlenose pliers. But now it only takes a few seconds, maybe a couple of minutes if I want it perfectly level like in the picture I posted.

My stock screen only wants to fall out when I just cleaned the Sub, once a bit of residue builds up, mine stays put until I punch it loose with a wire poker. I've been sticking with the stock screen alone, and happy enough. Have to clean the screen almost everyday, depending on how much hash I'm throwing in there.

I use my sub as an herbal one-hitter so the grill stays pretty clean.

I just tap it out every few weeks and torch it.

My screen set up is a fine mesh wedged on the top shelf, and a smaller mesh screen that will not wedge just sits on top of that screen. The screen sitting on the top dumps every time, but sits directly on the bottom screen making for a finer mesh and slightly more heat mass. The top screen gets a little finger wipe and flick with every dump and the bottom pretty much stay clean. I only need to torch both screens once a week maybe every 7 grams run through and it only takes a second as my torch and pliers are right next to the sub, and even when I don't torch them it never seems to get that restricted just with flower/dabs. I also do not notice a difference in vapor production between using the stock screen and mesh screens like some have reported just very clear red stringy sublimate.

My stock grill fits great now, very easy to wedge into position and remove, and it never comes out when dumping the bowl. The sub's not picky about screens but its users are!

What are you talking about? I'm not picky. It really doesn't fit into the hole and I dont want to wedge it in because i ended up bending it a bit. I guess I will try again but seriously it isnt fit for the hole and it comes out everytime when I dump it out.

I was not talking about you in particular CG420; I was just saying that everybody has a different screen preference, and in the end they all work well with the sub so it doesn't matter to it, just to us!

I wish mine did that :) ... a couple do if you mess around with them for 5-30 minutes!!!! (they just drop to the bottom or pop out the top ... mine are all slightly too small ... if they were just a tad bit bigger they would wedge fine. I prefer the stock sub screens for taste and staying clean to the other ones I've tried though ...

It works if you work it enough! It took me forever the first time, now it's easy. The main issue last time was keeping it from slipping through so I may try flattening it out a bit.

Mine worked initially ... but now slips through ...

Edit: Depending on the rotation of the screen it might stick or just drop right to the bottom (this was when they were new as well) ... so you keep trying until you get the rotation right and it doesn't just fall through or swivel ... it's become increasingly difficult though ...

Haven't been able to use the Sublimator in over 10 days...

There's a glaring hole in my life.

I'm sorry that some members of the sub nation are having issues. I have confidence that they will be rectified. I have been trying some good vapes lately but nothing quite compares with the sub!

The taste is so damn good dry, and the potential dosage volume with a watertube is absolutely incredible. And I feel kind of like a mad scientist just using it.

As opposed to my heater becoming gradually ineffective, I am starting to go below my mark using the kaw as a guide for now because mine seems to be running a bit hot lately. Hopefully that's not a bad sign! Going for about 30 watts atm, about the width of the mark below it.

I love my sublimator :smug:

No he's probably away on vacation or business or something. I think I have noticed him not being able to use it a few times now. IDK maybe I'm wrong, but you would think if something like the heater going out happened he would have said so?

Ouch, 90$ for the sub-buddy with shipping for me. It'll b a bit before I buy one now. I was comfortable with 50 or so + shipping but that seems soooo expensive for a device literally used just to reclaim oil from this already 500$ device.

Is the bowl perfect fit or will I need a keck clip?
