Discontinued The Sublimator

I've been jonezing for that UFO, and the Enailator for that matter, but for now this domeless nail will have to suffice, so I don't burn out my heater with heavy use of oils. I look forward to more reviews on the UFO, hope you like it.

Terps Up, Temps Down
My friend was recently looking to pick up a new vape. I've never used the Sublimator myself but after following this thread for a bit, I recommended that he definitely check it out. Well, that was one week ago and today, he posted on facebook that he did in fact purchase the Sublimator and that it blows other vapes out of the water. He lives in Colorado, so I'm looking forward to trying one for myself next time I visit.

I also told him to try dabbing through the intake holes while vaping his flowers and he said it's absolutely amazing. lol

mercury set arrived wih ufo. beautifull toy, just a longer tube makes it LE kit.

first try, I managed to have a low temp vape. i am going to test further but i wonder hard about screens placement. all screens are adjusted to fit in anpther position wich the one described on the sub scheme. Grokit provides a photo that respects the sub scheme but all screens are adjusted to fall 1cm further, is that normal? what correct position? all of my stck screens fall directly or ridiculously have one wire on the first edge for pv screen. i mean, if you want to screen that edge you many mm to sit.

EDIT: ok,i gave it a try. my first analisis is that the thermal mass obtained by electrical heat is no longer fullfilled with the means of heating ihad (blazer torch from pv). the device was turned into convection by heating the niddle and hitting. that making it a steel vapocane but....

this only revealed my bad sanitizing from me. factory taste. I will now soak it all. the mounting of tube mini set did well despites numerous bad final (ebavurrage in french) touches and heavy machining oil impregnation. i though cotton whip was good but all small dim tubes and threadings keep oil.

EDIT2: see you tomorrow Enrico in irun. hope you have 240v appolo to sell!

EDIT3: concerning screens dimension i tried iolite barrel style screen wich enrico use in jamaica, these one fit gladly on the upper edge. I suspect the PV screen goes right under the fisrt edge (actually possible) and stock sub screen putted on it is a tool to outload the device.

The stock grills normally sit on top of that upper ridge, mine's been tweaked to fit just inside of it.

This is part of the reason I'm gettin the analog version. I can take dab and flowers at the same time and I can just ISO my heater or torch it to clean the oil out. I just feel as tho I will get longevity out of the UFO kit. But that's just me!

Please do share your expereiences with the Mercury Kit when you get a chance to try a better torch? As with many others, I'm also extremely interested in this analog kit! Many a times did my finger twitch and added the Kit to the cart but as always, mind the great doubter looking for reasons here and there to finally pull the trigger!! :uhh:

My stock grills all fall down below that top ridge automatically ... they are in no way big enough to sit on top ... did I get a half dozen bad stock screens?

Could be atomizer variance? When my unit was new the stock grill stayed on top of the ridge and dumped out with each load. I bought two more of them from pv, and they were the same. But I tweaked a couple of them so they would wedge in. The one I have been using wants to go through now, so next time I will play with the other one that I messed with. I still have one new one that sits on top of that ridge.

You're talking about these:

And not these right?

Because I only have experience with the former, not the latter.

My custom reclaim piece keeps getting delayed. However I was promised at least by Saturday I will get it! Will post it soon and might make a video of a sublimator party.

Question.....did you use enricos suggestion of a 2min warm up with the torch first? Then take the heater off the atty and fill with herb. Then use 10-20 second pulses off torch in between hits. On the beach video enrico was doing like 8 hits in a row off one 13 second heat of the torch. I think the trick is the initial heat up. I will be subbin on Wednesday so I'll let you know my findings

No he's probably away on vacation or business or something. I think I have noticed him not being able to use it a few times now. IDK maybe I'm wrong, but you would think if something like the heater going out happened he would have said so?
VapeNStone hit the nail on the head - on both accounts; I'd most certainly mention something as serious as that!

Temporarily relocated so my stuff is sitting in a storage locker; alas.

I wonder if Enrico carried his stash with him on the plane?

Yes i saw that video and the heating method is the main pb of my first tries imo. Even if i torched longly to me, it was surely less than required. UFO requires lot of heating to obtain the thermal mass. Better take a plumber heavy torch for UFO or put a very big flame on my blazer.

Contempleted pairing ÜFO with herb iron too!!!

Anyway i would be more keen on having a 240V heater now.

@DabDivas
My glass blower decided to roll by with his glass pieces and what we decided to do with what he brought, we made a mini sublimator bong!!

He told me eta for my reclaim piece is Monday at the latest. So excited, he told me the jar can hold a quarter of sublimator oil!

Ya I was aware of the big thermal mass. 2min warm up is a while for a torch, but like you say, you gotta crank that flame up all the way and actually heat for 2 min. We need more experimenting/info on the UFO kit. When I get mine expect videos and many random thoughts. Keep subbin everyone!

maybe get a coffee cup warmer, and keep that near by to keep the UFO mass warm until ready to use? Or a hot plate? For home use anyway, might cut down on torch time. If out camping a hot rock from the fire would be a nice warmer too.

I used to have a blazer and the flame is so small. Something like a Newport or a Vector would have a much larger flame. I even bought a shitty one that was a huge flame from a random shop in Cali. But the Blazer are a much more precise flame.

I don't think a coffee cup warmer would do the trick, but an open-coil hot plate probably would. At that point a cast-iron frying pan full of hot coals doesn't seem so unsafe in comparison. I would like to be able to put it into/onto something that would be able to hold the temperature once it's heated up.

I don't mean to get it up to useable temps with a coffee warmer, just to take some heat time off by having it pre-warmed, just a passing thought... hot plate is more likely to get it up to or damn near close to vaping temp.
