From close to my neck of the woods...Congratulations to the Lake Mary Little League baseball team on being the first ever Florida Little League team to win the Little League World Series...I'm so proud of them and so happy that they won...ah, the exuberance of youth

Fucking Combustion (mostly) Since February 2017
I did a .35 mile kayaking paddle from a lake, down a river to the Pacific Ocean, and then back up the river to a lake today. The wildlife was fantastic. So many birds (I saw a bald eagle, many ospreys, many gulls, and a bunch of smaller birds, and other animals (I got very close to an otter), and vegetation. Went through sand dunes near the ocean as well!
The pictures aren't the best, because my phone was in a waterproof floating bag/case, and it was a bit dirty. But I had a fantastic time, and wanted to share. Any other kayakers here?
Here we go. Just launched on the lake!
It's a beautiful day to be on the lake!
Yay, there's the entrance to the River. It leads to the ocean after 2-3 miles.
Lots of pretty Flowers!
Lots of downed trees that can be tricky to get around/under.
I guess I'll go duck down and pass there.
We have reached the dam. Have to get out and haul the boat over it on that right side to get back in the water that is several feet lower on the other side.
I made it past the dam!
Here's the first sand dune. It's a sign that the ocean is getting near.
More sand dune!
More downed trees to get around.
So pretty!

River is getting wider.
Wiiiiiidde ooooooopen spaaaaaaaces!
Looks like the beach by the ocean is ahead!
There's the beach. The ocean is on the other side of the sandy hill.
I made it to the ocean!
Here we are. The beach and the ocean!
Time to turn around and head back up the river toward the lake.
It's beautiful out here!

I'm back at the dam. Gotta portage over that ramp on the left.
Made it across the dam to the higher section of the river on the other side. Now we may continue.
Had to kinda do an s-shaped thing around the branches to get under this one.
Yay. there's the lake again!
Back in the lake. The dock I launched from is up ahead on the other side of those boats. Gotta paddle into that oncoming wind!
Whew! I made it back alive. This was a great adventure for a Sunday afternoon.
