I have a W-9 meter starting to crap out on me. I have to mess with power switch.
What kinda warranty if any do they have?
Appreciate any input.
When was it ordered?
Also the Kiss Alpha Centauri is going to be dual voltage.
3.7v and 7.4v

Thanks bro that was a nice post.@THC SCIENTIFIC @SamuraiSam
Manufacturer typos are not my problem. If your manual states 3 years, you should get 3 years. To change that and reneg on that written promise borders on slimy. I understand standing firm on the warranty period. I can't tell you how many times I have had something fail less than a month after warranty period ends. This happened with >$3000 Samsung TV. Less than 2 months out of a 3 year warranty, I get lines on the screen. "Sorry SOL, you need a new screen $1800. ". Fuck you! That same TV is cheaper than that now.
I expect better from W9.
I have probably over $1K invested in W9 gear. The reason is 70% great products, and 30% Customer Service.
Don't get so big that you don't care for the little guy. Us little guys tend to stick together. Our dollars add up!
I have not had any bad experience with W9. However, the handling of the Double Top support (or lack thereof), the arbitrary changing of the warranty period from 3 to 1 year, and now this^^.
I hate to see anyone so frustrated, especially a good friend.
How much can that cheap meter cost? Make it right!
This guy (and myself) have been walking billboards, preaching the W9 gospel for almost 2 years.
You have to keep turning it on? How is your battery? What version top?any reason I have to keep "resetting" my top every time I want to take a pull from the kiss cart?
no reply from w9 yet

Sure wish they weren't out of black tops, that's the only thing keeping my finger hovering, rather than pulling the trigger.@ragnorokk, time to pick up a Hammer top.
Do you have only the one cart? Maybe try a different one.Batteries are good. V3 top. I have to remove the kiss cart, hold the button down and screw the cart back in to get it to ignite. Sometimes it needs to be done twice. As soon as I am done taking a pull, it resets and I get three flashes of the led when I push the button. Wash, rinse, repeat type of deal.
the fees are
$10 for the touch button top upgrade if your Persei is within the first year of its warranty period.
$65 if your Persei is out of the first year warranty period. This includes a full on rebuild of your Persei. Making sure colors match, new tube, springs bottom cap.
Quick question for clarifications sake
an out of warranty Persei would be rebuilt for 65 does that mean if mine went bad after the first year I'd get back a refurbished v3 or the v4 I see you mention new color matching tube new springs and bottom cap but not witch top it would be

have tried a diff cart.
same issue.
is this an issue with the top? it isn't even a week old.
@THC SCIENTIFIC Three questions:
1. What is the caveat for the early KISS Alpha Centauri units, that will need to be later rectified in the shop? I have already set aside money knowing there is a problem with these early units, but I'd like to know more while I sit around waiting for the 15th to arrive.
2. I posted a pic of my Persei a few pages back and was informed that it's v1 -- to use the hercules, I was told to make sure I test the resistance on herc every time before use (already feel like I have to, since my other rig is an 8). The issue is, I bought this Persei to be safer and easier to use than the 8, so my wife could use it -- I'll still have to clean it and shit, but there's no way I can have her checking resistance every time... I am planning to buy a warranty for the likely scenario of a shorted top in my near future, but I'm also curious as to how bad shorting a top on these v1 units is. If she forgets to check resistance and shorts the unit is she just going to fry whatever circuitry is in the top, or is she possibly going to have to worry about the batteries venting? If frying the top is NBD, then w/e. If frying the top carries with it serious bodily risk, what are the plans for a v4 upgrade path?
3. Are the black wicks in the Ti rebuild kits and the newer version of the globe atomizers the same thing as a "health stone" like I'd find in a dab pipe at my local head shop?
Please submit a tick t we will get on this and see what happened.
@Melting Pot @DieHard
Guys please understand that the Persei and Omicron have a limited lifetime warranty.
It's the service that we charge for. The service we charge after the first year makes sure that the customer who has one of these two units will never have to buy a new unit again just send it in for repairs.
Essentially making sure the customer never has to buy a new unit and that his vaporizer is always upgradeable.

@Melting Pot if I'm not mistaken you had a v1 Persei which we offered a v3 top replacement for free, but to get the v4 top a upgrade fee was offered for $65 because this included a full on rebuild of your unit.
As for the tester breaking down the first so fast please submit a ticket and we will handle it. The tester has a 30 day warranty and I'll be happy to replace that as long as shipping charges are paid coming back.
We can knock both items out in one ticket.
Now last issue you said your message was not replied, can you tell me your ticket number so I can take a look and see why it has not been replied to?
This is what I don't understand. Warranty says when it breaks you receive the latest and greatest. Not well we didn't mean to write 3 years in your manual. So I'm going to offer u v3 (piece of shit) if u want the latest and greatest 65$ please its a service feeYou will get the latest and greatest version which includes the current touch button top.
