Hey @THC SCIENTIFIC , Gary I just recieved my 8 today and just opened it upon getting home from work, Haven't tested it yet, but upon opening the nice white box and looking inside, all I can say is WOW FUCKING AWESOME!!!! What a quality piece of equiptment!! Heavy as shit compared to my perseis and omicrons, Beautiful finish!! I love the Fuck out of it, it's gonna get some heavy LOVE over the next few days.

Guys and Girls, If you have been waiting to purchase any W9 products, STOP WAITING! They make the best quality products!(IMHO) I hope I'm not sounding too much like a fan boy, but I only speak the truth. I have no affiliation with W9 or Gary and I have no other brand of oil vapes to compare to, as I've always been on the W9 Train, but I've ALWAYS been completely happy and satisfied with all my purchases from them and any problems I may have had( Very few by the way) have always been handled quickly and proffesionaly. Hi THC SCIENTIFIC. Regarding the Imag Plus, the w9tech website description says, "The unit incorporates a mini USB charging port to allow effortless charging and allow you to use the vaporizer while it is charging."

I used it, while charging, a few minutes into the initial charge. A few draws on the blue setting, then a few draws on the green setting during which it hit the automatic shut off. I have not used it since. The initial 6 hour charge ended a couple hours ago.

A few minutes ago I saw your post in the "Imag" thread warning not to use the vaporizer while charging. I presume the info on the website is an error. Is there any chance I have damaged the unit?

@reece that needs to be changed on the site as i was told that as well, but later our engineers confirmed with them that it is not the case. I guess chalk it up for language barrier.

@Scrimshaw to get the 8 running, you would need 2 aw imr 18650's, 4 18350's. This way you can have one battery set charging while your using the other.

The charger i would recommend is the nitecore or XTR get one that charges both 18650 and 18350,

Having acquired UpTech gear in the arsenal has been a major turning point in my medical relief therapy. Long gone are the days of over hyped under performing high jacked tech devices which now sit idle collecting dust in the corner. The only things not in my Persei Tech Quiver are the 8, Okeanos and other water filtration attachments. Everything has been stellar especially when paired with some of Michigan’s finest genetics. Cannatonic and Charlottes Web in the EO’s, KISS’s used with g13/Cookies 2/Death Star variants, the Bender always ready to go with a staggering amount of fresh flower varieties, The Kangor with a tasty mix, and the Herc is always ready when I need to be elevated instead of pain management………

Except that my Herc has now been placed on the injury list.. And I’m asking the FC family to further help troubleshoot this pesky issue….

1. wont fire up with the bottom shield(for the sr74) in place

2. will fire up with the bottom shield removed.

3. the bottom side(persei side) brass pin is recessed and appears to not make contact.

4. the KISS cart(still going after a month and 6 grams of pure beautiful Michigan shatter) fires up.

5. the Bender fires up.

6. the E.O. carts fire up.

7. the kangor tank fires up

numbers 2, 4, 5, 6, and 7 fire up on both batteries and the core.


It is a Version 3 Persei. All attachments test out perfectly with the exception of the Herc when the bottom shield is in place.


Any clue? Any form of insite is appreciated.

Thank you @THC SCIENTIFIC and @Vape Dr. my gr 2 globe coil is working. I tightened it just a hair past what I felt like was too much and it started working. I think I just had don't over tighten bouncing around in my head spooking me. I also had the button pressed while I did it. So don't know which worked, but the coil did it's thing and that beautiful black wick soaked it right up.

Sounds like the spring in the adjustable center pin is gummed up and stuck down not sure if an ISO soak or boiling would help might need a new one

The hercules sr-74 bottom insulator can go bad. You said it fires with no bottom insulator? I suspect the gold pins are not making full contact. Are the gold pins still in good mechanical condition? Do they still have the "springy" characteristics ?

the Spring has lost its mechanical function. I left it in an iso bath over night to try and break up any possible gunk that might have been left behind but its still a no-go..

so i can't help but notice my iris v1 has markings on the screen for temp......is this a feature that will be present in the v2?

also.....the iris gets much warmer than the hammer EVER does, and rather quickly....how worried should i be about it's warmth while in use? i'd like her to last until the new ones arrive.

The lcd used in the iris had this function since it was the same lcd used with our 8 herb vape that didnt pan out.

The Iris now is about 2 years old and it held up fine so far but as far as its getting warm, may i ask what your using it with?

2x 18350 aw imr, stock from w9tech. hercules sr71 with the 7.4 rod. 1 titanium coil. usually reads 1.5ohm on assembly according to the iris itself. voltage anywhere from 6-7.4

fine for a few small puffs but if i try to get huge "dabby" rips from it like i do with the hammer it gets hot fast enough that i don't do it anymore. if i use if for an extended session without letting it cool every few minutes it also warms up enough that it's noticeable to the touch. not hot, i've never let it get say, as hot as i've let the herc itself get, but it seems like the iris passes a LOT more heat through, and i worry about frying the electronics. wish i had a temp gun handy.

the hammer i can leave on for minutes though i no longer do. barely even feels warm with my lips against it. the comparison in heat transfer from the herc to two different tops made me wonder how warm is okay.

thanks for letting me know about the lcd, i'm trying to get a job at one of our two vape shops around here and not knowing anything people ask me about the gear i personally own erks me.

I'm still pretty new so I'm not sure about the iris tops. So you put in 2 18350's and then the iris let's you pick what voltage you want to pass to the cart? That sounds magical, like a portable core. Also seems like the internet is out of them.....

My adventures in vapery started several years ago with the MFLB. It's a great little device and the stealth is unmatched. However, it has been gathering dust.

My next purchase was a Vapman basic. It was good but a little frustrating because I'm apparently a moron when it comes to using a torch.

Next up was the PnP. I really like the thing but it hits pretty harsh, the heat up time is pretty long, and it kinda stinks.

Then I bought the mica VM. It seems to be more forgiving for a torch idiot and I love the thing.

The Persei/SR-71 combo is KILLER for someone using concentrates and needing stealth. The ability to quickly take a few hits and move on without the family picking up on it is pure gold (and not losing taste and not feeling like you're wasting material).

So, the Pers/Herc has become my tool of choice and I am loving it. Can it provide the same experience with flowers? I'm not sold on the Bender yet, based on this thread. How much odor does it give off? Is it the only viable flower alternative?

For now, the only thing that the Persei hasn't retired is my VM mica because sometimes I just gotta has me some of that flower goodness.
