I have a few SR71 bare bone kits with the older markings on the teflon pieces, and the bottom adapters are not for the Nibbler XL's if anyone wants to chime in and if there is demand for them ill put them up for sale.

Remember this is bare bones SR71 and only has one Ti Coil inside.

No box, no tool, no manual as the manual is on the site.

The markings on the Teflon pieces will say Hercules 7.4v in actual reality its a 71 inside and the bottom adapter will not be usable with the Nibbler XL

Will still have the 1 year warranty.

@Hedonismbot I do apologize we couldnt get the Ti coils in the hercules kits as we are on short list atm and only have enough to fill orders for the next month while we produce more.

G, I would like clarification on the oil coils for the surplus SR71s. I've been PMing Naomi (@nao12000) and she is going to mail out my missing SS top cap next week. I also opened a ticket at W9 about the missing top cap and coil (ticket #2453398). But it is not clear to me about what will be done about the missing oil coil.

I know you are short Ti coils now from your msg above but what does this mean? Are you going to be sending out a Ti coil automatically to each SR71 buyer when they are back in stock? Or do they have to be requested by each new SR71 owner? Or (heaven forbid) does this mean that there is not going to be a coil included with the SR71s now? Or something else?? Thanks.

Make no mistake, it will combust. The Hammer rod will heat up to 1200F. It is all about the button technique. The Bender IMO is not for out-and-about use. But the flavor is like a fine wine.

The Iris is your friend here. I like 6v to 6.2v, low and slow. I have taken to heating the glass first empty, then dropping the dry herb in. Makes for a tasty first hit.

I will have to try that method. I will have to wait for the new Iris v2. I have tried lower voltages with The Core and my Herc SR-71 using my double top ( no battery "blind spots").

Should be an official club member soon as I just put my Persei order in over the weekend. Starting off with just Kiss and EO carts but more to come.

Just to clarify because I've seen some confusing/conflicting/incomplete info while researching-- SR74 can be effectively run at 3.7v? You just need to assemble it with the "black" rod?

from my understanding you are correct. black rod for 3.7v

working on breaking in my sr71....rod adjustment was easier than i thought it might be. at first i was trying to just barely have the contact showing, but the retaining pin kept pushing it forward a smidgen. now i position it right about in the middle and let it go ahead and push in the little it wants to and it works out to perfectly functioning positioning.
minor leaking issues mostly due to me overfilling her.
as everyone says she eats through a pair of 18350s in no time flat but i'm going to get an ss kit so i can double up on some vct5 18650s which i figure should at least quadruple my portable dab power.
the taste is vastly superior to anything else i've tried. it does vape out most of the flavorful terpenes before the oil is completely consumed, but it leaves a very nice hashy taste with very little corrupting flavor from the unit itself.
i hate the delrin mouthpiece. i don't like the plasticky feel in my mouth. i wish there were some other option for glass or metal, maybe even wood. i appreciate that it has heat resistant properties so i'm on the hunt for a tube i can use as an extension to the stock mouthpiece that will fit over it or inside it.

i'm still honing in on my technique, i won't say it's outdoing the torch based dabs i get yet, but i will say that it happily takes roughly the same number of hits to get to a tolerable day to day level of medicinal effect, and it nicely fits in my pocket. one of the biggest factors is i don't have to use a torch, which in my 10x15 studio makes me feel safer about it with my daughter in the house.

as far as the persei itself, i'm going back and forth between using 1 18650 or 1 18350 with the shorty tube and the normal v2 top and a 601-510 adapter to run my nautilus ejuice tank. the 3.7v is too much power for 1.8ohm coils in my opinion, but it is within acceptable operational ranges.
i've been using a fluttering button technique with careful draw and i'm still able to produce tasty decently dense clouds of ejuice quite happily. if i just ride the button i get a very burnt flavor on the two juices i've tried.
i LOVE the feel and look of the ss stubby tube with my nautilus. it makes it very comfortable to hold and activate with my pointer finger whereas i use my thumb on the 18650 tube.

my biggest question at the moment is that my v2 top will not fire the hercules at all. the iris will, the hammer will. the v2 fires a 3.7 kiss cart and my nautilus so it isn't dead......what is the issue here? any help guys? not a huge issue because it works for my ejuice and once the v4 tops are out i will probably upgrade but vaping is a lifestyle/hobby for me and not knowing something about my new flagship vape is bugging me.

so far so good guys, i'm very happy with my choice to invest in the persei line. i'm already itching to have more vape budget so i can expand my fleet of adapters and toys.

my current tokage method:
1.activate hammer
2.small warm up puffs until she draws freely (horizontal during warmup)
3.slow milkshake draws with the hammer ON until the vapor starts to feel too warm for my preference
4.continue to pulse hammer on and off for maximum vapor productions without getting the vapor heat past my comfort level until my lungs can't take anymore (vertical during huge rips)
5.hold and exhale, repeat as needed
6.slow cooldown hits until the entire body of the unit is cool to the touch

1-3 of the big rips usually relieves my symptoms along with the warmup hits and that is comparable to the average 3 rips i need off a nail at once. of course the herc is easier on my poor (former) chainsmoking lungs.

i've run nearly a total of 7g through her so far and it hasn't been a week yet.
although there have been a few trials and adjustments i find her quite easy to set up and operate.
i was even able to partially disassemble, realign and reassemble her in about 5 minutes in a restroom at a non vapers house so i could step outside and medicate covertly when it wouldn't fire the way i had assembled it at home in a rush.

i carry iso, pliers and unbleached coffee filters with me everywhere now in case of maintenance emergencies. before ya ask i use unbleached coffee filters for everything hash related because i find they almost never leave behind fibers on sticky things, unlike paper towels, etc.

as an added bonus;
i live in an area where oil pens are FAR more common than ejuice vapes. in fact i'm constantly having to tell friends and random people they cannot hit my pen because it is my personal nicotine supply, not oil. because the herc has no globe, which is what almost everyone here uses in one form or another, so far NO ONE has asked me to hit it or what it is except guests in my home that were invited to try her out.
it's nice to be able to medicate without being harassed for awhile. i'm on my way to a bbq, we'll see how it goes over there, haha. i don't really intend to share but a few beers later and i'll probably change my mind.

well, i know it's rather long so

TL&DR?
during my first few days of shakedown runs on the hercules sr71 i find it relatively simple to put together and am getting great big fat tasty puffs of errl from her. no major complaints, and nothing unexpected at all. i love it. to everyone that is on the fence, BUY IT. to everyone that suggested i buy it and posted tips on how to use it THANK YOU.

Just got my Persei. Very fast shipping. I will agree with the previous post that bemoaned the lack of any instructions.

Although web-based videos are nice, printed material provides a great deal more flexibility for learning.

My Persei seems complete and the SR-71 came with a coil but nothing else. Do the SS caps mentioned go with the SR-71, and should the have been included?

Anyone have thoughts on the best way to learn about this baby? The videos I've seen show people loading the thin cartridges with the fill tool (neither of which were included - are these videos of an older version of the Persei?). For the Herc, I just drop concentrate on the coil?

The SR 71 bottom adapter needs to be adjusted from time to time. This piece in the picture.

You would need 2 screw drivers, hold one side while unscrewing the other side 1/4 turn counter clock wise, then test it out. May take a few times.

Because everything on the Hercules SR71 is mechanical with no wires or solder we had to make some of the contact points adjustable.

the bottom adapter? or the top ss cap?

The Herc came with the Herc itself and a single coil. The Persei came with a charger that sounds like it has a loose piece inside, the batteries, the battery tool, the Persei, and the mouthpiece assembly (based on the picture on the website, that seems complete).

I would be very worried if my heating rod moved at all during assembly. Shifting rods are how a lot
of shorts developed in SR71s. I hold the rod retaining nut with a pair of pliers and with my other hand twist the upper chamber into the nut (with the rod in place of course) about as tight as I can. Someone posted here a long time ago that the stainless steel holding the rod expands more with heat than the ceramic rod itself so that the rod tends to loosen as the Herc gets hotter. Be careful.

That's not delrin. It's medical grade PTFE. I like it just the way it is. Silicone tubing (3/8"ID) fits nicely over the mouthpiece. I use it to connect the Herc to my bubbler via a wpa. Watching the vapor production with a water tool is a great learning experience. You'll see the SR71 is still producing vapor up to 5 seconds after you stop pressing the button.

my biggest question at the moment is that my v2 top will not fire the hercules at all. the iris will, the hammer will. the v2 fires a 3.7 kiss cart and my nautilus so it isn't dead......what is the issue here? any help guys? not a huge issue because it works for my ejuice and once the v4 tops are out i will probably upgrade but vaping is a lifestyle/hobby for me and not knowing something about my new flagship vape is bugging me.

Have you measured the resistance of your Herc?

I bought a box of those little individually wrapped alcohol wipes (used for ijnections). They work great for quick cleanups and leave no fibers.

I wish more people would post about their positive Hercules experiences! I still love it too after using it for a year. I don't know of any other oil vape that is in the same league.

No, I noticed a post in which someone referenced a new order that looked similar to mine (admittedly only from a description). The response was something to the effect that it shouldn't have been left out. I asked if it should have been included with an SR-71 or Persei order. My apologies if I extrapolated too far from a few posts.

So, if I want to use wax without the Herc, I should put some along the side and heat it with a lighter so it drips down onto the coil?

Ok no worries.

To put wax inside the unit just put in the middle of the coil where the rod is. Should need a lighter to load the herc, then just tap the button a 3-4 seconds a once and close the lid and mouth piece. Make sure you get about .4 just for the coil to be saturated and another .2 to get it going after that just keep adding.

Also please remember to do long cool down hits until you get the hang of it.

I see that the Ti 2 rebuild kits are up. Is this kit for 3.7v or 7.4v KISS carts? It doesn't specify on the website. My understanding is they need different gaged wire. Maybe the kit comes with both?

Using more or less "loops" with the wire should get you the desired resistance. Loops wrapping the ceramic wick. Look up a pic for 7.4v. More wire loops. 3.7v is less loops. You can always experiment with fine tuning!
