Tritons last part is being made and will take about 45 days because of the mold.

Iris electronics came back some minor issues so we are redoing that as well.

As for that idea we are calling it the infinity kit for the 8, and we personally believe it's going to make the 8 one of the best mods on the market.

I guess that doesn't actually say how long.

Is there a general consensus over using a dialed down SR71 + core versus the black rod + hammer top?

is it safe for the white (7.4) rod on the hercules to have 2x 18650 batteries "lightsabered" to it? i know its huge but it would last a long time between charges

Hi there, I've attached two images of the issue I'm having. The bottom tank is the 74x, the threads go all the way to the bottom therefore the retaining nut isn't able to screw down all the way.

Are you screwing the retaining ring on upside down? Is your issue that you cannot screw the ring down far enough to hold the aaf(gold star washer)? The retaining ring's (nut) main function is to hold the heater in place and insure contact to the heater.

I can say that I prefer my herc 71 dialed down with iris over the black rod and hammer....

Although it is nice to busy a herc on the shorty occasionally

mine has that issue too. On the x the nut (retaining ring) doesn't sit flush with aaf like it did with the 74. Is this normal? Anyone else have that issue?
yes! i received and assembled the 74x and ran across the same issue. i called and spoke to gary who said this was normal for the "x"

After many days of testing the new Persei tops I must say the only flaw we found was the button is super sensative.

Let's hear some feedback on its looks and what would you guys want to be encorporated in it.

This is a prototype unit so please don't worry about the looks.

Five click on/off, 4 clicks and hold for 3 sec for hammer style on, click again to turn off. Make it blink in the Hammer mode so you don't forget its on. I like the way the V3 button looks, but I wish It didn't recess so far in when you push it.

Final versions of the Touch button tops are being manufactured to be tested and production starts

The touch button tops have the Hammer top function as well.

Getting it right is the key.

closer to the v2 yes, just need time to get it right.

For some reason I thought you said this wasn't going to be a feature, so I bought a Hammer top :p

. Thank you for the info. Does this mean the AAF is no sitting flush therefore it wobbles up and down? If if does, maybe it's better not to run it? I run my herc AAF fully open so I don't need that AAF. SR71 old style.

According to G, the AAF is loose when first installed but gums up and stays put after a use or two. I don't use mine either though. I figure its one more thing to clog up, so I ditched it like the top screen.
I ditched my top screen too. Tired of cleaning everyday. I found that a slow steady draw works. If u suck like a banshee you might get some oil in your mouth. Hot!! Ever happen to you Caligula ? I adjusted my draw to avoid sucking hot oil. Overall much better without the screen

i went the other way. I added an additional screen to the metal undercap. It is a wide mesh, curving up, and seems to catch any splatter and allow it to run back down the sides. My top screen no longer clogs and i don't get splatter inside my nibler

. Good idea!! You have a pic of your set up?

i'll try to get someone to take a picture to post.

my other modification to my Herc is with the heat-shield. I carved a groove for an O-ring on the upper half of the body, and relocated to top O-ring from the cap. Now the cap can't pull off inside the NiblerXL

Yes I have noticed too when battery is low you get splatter. Sucks! I try to keep charged batteries along with the slow steady consistent draw works.
