Ok, so I need to update my review a bit.

I just got my hammer top, ran my herc in the SS tube with 1 18650 at 3.7v, pressed the button, waited 20 seconds before drawing, inhaled a cloud that was as big, but far nicer tasting than off my nail - the kicker is that this is not the beautiful crystal clear white as glass shatter I have been hitting on the nail, this is dark (but nonetheless see-through clear) shatter from the same strain!

The Herc is god of oils.

Just got some new KISS carts...

I forget...do I need to do anything before I load them up for the first time? Prime?

How should I test them without putting wax on them? Last time I loaded wax only to find it was DOA, if like to avoid that this time.

press the button for a brief couple seconds. As soon as you see the coil starting to glow immediately release the button. It's okay to do it once or twice but I wouldn't do it over and over agai

Right, I've had mine for a month or 2 and that would be the only price I would consider.

At the same time my Iris burned out a month or so ago, my laptop computer hard disk started failing. I had to get a new laptop (and one for Mrs. Hedonismbot of course), transfer all the data and learn Windows 8.1 to boot. And yet I was much more irritated by my Iris loss!

So I lent my beloved Persei Iris and Hercules to a friend who was interested in buying one... All I had was a kiss and a hammer top. Didn't go so well, misfired a few times and the rest of the time it seemed like the power was flickering (based on the blue light flickering and being dim) got my regular v2 top and it was doing the same thing. 2 different batteries both brand new....

Can't wait for these new bad boys. That center pin looks bad ass...

Do these have buttons? Or are they the sensor style you mentioned previously? @THC SCIENTIFIC

With the KISS does anyone else get a bubbling sound when inhaling? Is this normal or is it actually crackling bc if bad BHO?

If I don't inhale, my shatter just melts...but when I inhale I hear a bubbling sound. I think it's just inhaling since the concentrate melts to liquid. It is a similar sound to sucking out of a straw with very little liquid left.

Batteries fully charged? And only kiss cart?

Is it caked in oil? Did you try boiling it?

It was soaked a few times in oil due to my beginning times.

I will try and soak it so hopefully that gets me back on track...

Not a myth we are working on the buttons as we got that feed back as being the only issue with the tops, once done they go into production.



Couple of quick tries to fix the issue if you don't mind to do it.

First boil it in filtered water,

Then gently turn clockwise the part that goes inside to see if it frees up the spring.

Right now, I'm using the KISS cart which work but I am spoiled by the flavorful taste the Herc produces....I need to get this back on track.

Can we set up a purchase for 2 of these center posts since such a small device can hinder my operation. Also, I would be very interested in purchasing the upgrade to SR-74X. This will prevent leakage? If it does, I am extremely interested.

Please let me know if/how can I make these purchases.

I just tried...I have a fine pen torch so I was able to hit it but not over do it. Still no spring action. Its to the point where there is no friction at all and the small gold piece can sway slightly.

I'm going to continue to soak it in ISO while I go to work but I have a feeling there is no resurrection

Oh sorry @pakalolo it was a typo. I meant to say I'll tell my iris for %500. Does not really make any sense now that I look back on it, but neither does selling an iris until the v2 comes out. Now that I've been rebuilding the kiss carts. Its much more forgiving to be +/- a few tenths of an ohm since I can adjust the voltage. Plus with the nichrome wire when the iris goes super saiyan on me it just gives me a thick ass hit instead of burnin out. Any chance those rubber insulators will be included in the upgrade kit? Kidney puncher ones fit a little different. Am I correct that the bottom contact insulator is the same in both the kiss cart and the original extract cart? Shape is the same but I don't want it to be of a different material and melt real quick and short out my top or something crazy

Joined the club and bought the persei with the Hercules sr-74 attachment.
Out of the box the persei did not work. After charging the batteries and putting it together the light stayed on as if the button was being depressed all the time. Spoke with Gary on the phone who took care of me, great customer service. Shipped them the broken one and got another back within two days.
Tested it with the Hercules and the flavor was amazing. After a couple hits it stopped working. Took it apart to find the little tiny brass center pin had lost it's spring.
Tested the persei with the kiss cart and it would not work either. When I depressed the button the light just flashed and the coil was not heating. Thought it might be the batteries so I tried it with the Hercules batteries and it worked fine.
Called again and customer service was impeccable. Sent me a new brass center pin and new batteries immediately.
The new batteries have the same issue.
My Hercules works but is leaking tons of oil through the three tiny holes at the bottom. I have them covered with that small brass ring as much as possible. Doesn't seem to help. After a few hits it all leaks down and clogs everything wasting all my crumble. Then I have to take everything apart and clean which is a total pain.
Am I making rookie mistakes? Thought I would ask here before calling and bugging W9 tech again. I can't imagine it was made to leak like this. Did I get a faulty unit? And what about the kiss carts only working with the Hercules batteries?
I have tried to read through this thread for answers. It is very long. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Feel free to reply here or PM me. Thanks again.

did you try and reassemble to see if it works even though you have little spring in the post? i havent had spring in months. set the rod to have contact with the post and i have a .9ohm reading on a 3.7v black rod with no problems

What you need to do is if your taking a 30 second hit hit 15 of these seconds with the button pressed and the other 15 without the button pressed, after you are done with your session proceed to take hits off the Hercules to cool it down without the button being pressed. Your issue you are having is because it's not being cooled down, and the Hercules is designed to drop your oil in the catch can to save it, it's not wasting it at all it's a safety feature. Other vapes will leak into the battery compartment or into the threads.

Two things I tried that helped a bunch:

1. doing cooldown hits (drawing without pressing the button) so the oil doesn't become superheated.
2. storing the Herc on its side when not in use.

By applying heat and inverting the bottom chamber, the leaked oil can be reclaimed.

I to have had a problem with the positive spring button connection...Tried soaking it in iso....tried boiling....tried rotating the button to free up the spring..Nothing has worked......I ordered a new one and the SR74 is back in the lineup..
