I do have a couple of questions since I am new to this unit. In regards to the carts it came with, can it be re usable? When the cart is empty will it stop producing vapor or does it just turn into black gunk? How often should I change the carts?
I am currently using the 2 smaller batteries and basically just drawing in and pushing the button every 4 seconds. Any other info for this first time user would help.
Thanks to all.
Carts are only "supposed" to survive 1 gram of oil going through them - that being said, I have two 5 ohm carts that are going strong after a months heavy use and multiple .5g refills each. I think many users have similar results, some carts will just last and last. With that in mind, when I first got my persei, it came stock with 4 ohm carts, and I roasted both pretty quick due to inexperience or manufacturing defect or both - so do be ginger with it.
When the cart begins to produce less vapor, is about the time I refill, i dont know about any black gunk but ive also never hit a cart dry, as i think that would kill it. when I start getting smaller clouds, or it weighs less (if i was able to weight it before loading), i refill.
I like to have multiple carts so I can chain hit. Hit, swap and let the one cool while i Hit # 2 and re-swap etc. If need be, that is - it's totally un needed. One cart all the time only is just fine, just be mindful of overheating, ESPECIALLY on freshly charged batteries, the two small ones you mentioned using - remember I said I roasted two 4 ohm carts, thats probably how. Freshly charged 7.4v baterries are actually ~8 something v so be careful after you charge.
When i first got my unit there were multiple issues with my oil and the device as i ordered pre-order of the very first batch - so I was very frustrated initially - there is a learning curve, but you seem to have the hang on of it. When it comes time for you to reclaim oil from a cart you've burned out (whenever it happenes, tomorrow or in six months), don't fret - its easy.
Hope that helps
