I don't have enough SHATTER to start off 2014 however I modified my vacuum chamber to fit my system.

I hope 10 grams of SHATTER should be enough to get started?

Can someone help figure out why I'm getting a metallic taste from my hercules? I cleaned the whole unit minus the coil. Is it my coil?


I plan switch out to a new coil today and see if it fixes the problem.. Can anyone recommend what size coil use to use with the white rod? I've been using about 30% coil

Alright I plan try that when I get home later today. If I need to use a new coil what size would you recommend for the 7.4 rod?

I use a 30%. Barely above the rod top. Works fine for every consistency oil ive thrown in there.

Also as @exit discovered u can have impurities coat the rod too so if its all gunked up you want to torch/iso/scrape it clean. Helps flavor and reduces heat up times.

Yeah I got my rod like brand new basically. It must be the coil.. I guess I'll find out tonight

This is how I feel because I clean my herc ALOT almost every other day.. I think my coil is to short because it sit significantly below the rod and the other half of the coil sits almost flush with the rod maybe slightly over it. You guys think my coil is to short causing it to burn the eo?

Also yes. Make sure its loaded after you make sure the coil is seated properly. As I said, get the coil warm then push down on the coil. I also rotate the coil as I push down to help make sure proper contact is made with the base of the chamber.

Just one last question, would having a to short of a coil cause all these issues?

Man wouldn't a ti 2 coil come in handy right about now.

So what's the proper way disassemble the herc not to damage the rod. I couldn't quite under stand it all. Can u or someone else put it more simple for me

seems like untwisting the two metal halves and then pulling out the rod from the bottom is the worst thing you could do and thats what i have been doing since i got mine. apparently its better to undo the threaded part and remove that and THEN unscrew the two halves.

doesn't that still spin around the retaining sleeve though?

my Persei is behaving weird. The button light doesn't always work. Sometimes its dim sometimes its dark. At first I didn't realize that it was heating fine just no light.

but if i interrupt the power, the 3 blinks are normal looking.

The three I had fried almost immediately. The 2 ohms are endless though!

Based on the pic you posted of that filthy rod, I don't think pulling the rod out from the bottom is the worst thing you can do to it, lol, gross.

The thing is you would be shocked how good the herc still tasted lmao

You'd think it tasted like gross terrible burnt shit looking at that pic but believe me it still tasted damn nice. Took a good decent while to heat up though so I imagine I was just heating the whole coil indirectly thru all the resin.

That's probably because there's lots of contaminants in your oil that are left behind afterwards... Even hella burnt errl tastes like reclaim... Not that reclaim tastes nice or anything, but it's a far cry from tinfoil.

You've got a VB 2.0 tube right?

I have both the VB 2.0 wt and pnwt and the pnwt sits on the mp nicely and barely wobbles so you can use 1 hand while the VB 2.0 tube is a real pain and you have to use 2 hands as I'm sure you already know.

Can someone please help my hammer rod stopped working all the sudden, I double checked and fully charged the batteries and I tested the hammer head with the omicron cart and it worked and the blue light is on but when I use the rod attachment it won't head up anymore. Any ideas? Please help
