So after my first session with my VSS Hercules I am very impressed! I haven't been able to get the super dense hits yet but I think it's just because I don't let it heat up enough...

I think i ripped on it for a good 20 mins taking little tiny breaks inbetween while whipping up another batch of errl...

I have about 17g left plus the 4g or so I'll have from this run so I'm going to test the living fuck out of this thing today and try to get through an eighth to celebrate my first day with Hercules! This would be much easier with an adapter for the dual top that allows enough space to run dual hercs

Oh and does anyone know how many tanks you can rip with one set of AW IMR's?

The hammer that came with my bender is apparently defective because it shorted out both my tops and damn near fried one of my batteries! The shrink wrap on it shrunk more cuz it got so hot in SECONDS! I was getting ready to use the bender for the first time. I'm so bummed. I waited all this time and bam it breaks. What should I do? Wiill I have to pay for return shipping? This sucks so bad. I did get some nice wax loaded in a 5.0 cart and was getting nice hits. I never expected this thing to break within hours.

Edit- The heating element on my herc is off center. Anyone else have this problem? I haven't boiled it yet so I don't know what will happen there. It's tight and there is no holes.

One of my mini hammers were slightly crooked in one of my Hercs. No big deal as long as the tanks drop in and line up properly.

Edit: Even though I'm down one Hercules (sending it out for repair), my second one is quickly becoming the first thing I reach for when wanting a dab. It literally delivers as big a hit as my nail and dome, only tastier and without a torch mimicing the sound of a 747 taking off. G, this thing friggin' rocks!

Here's Bob's pics from a few pages back of the VSS mod and the easiest method I've found to do this is to cut a proper sized chunk of the volcano sponge and stick something slightly thicker than your heating element through the middle of the volcano sponge. Leave the object through the center of the sponge and insert it through the bottom of the top half of the cartridge sleeve while it's unscrewed. Then line your object up with the ceramic rod, screw the two ends together and make sure your object is touching the rod by pushing gently on it. Then I used an empty tank and a pair of tweezers to gently force the sponge down off of my object and over top of the heating element. Continue to do so until your oil tank sits comfortable underneath the top of the lip by a mm or two. Beware of stainless splinters... they suck... Good luck!

The Persei and Cera are two different animals, I feel. The Cera is a portable oil and herb vape. The Persei is more a swiss army knife of sorts. Does oil and herb, multiple voltages, glass on glass herb chamber, herb iron attachment, different OHM carts, water filtration on the way, variable voltage top as well, etc.

Edit: Great news about my Hercules' "broken heater". Turns out that the connector and the cart weren't fully threading due to the cart being stuck a bit too high up in the outer shell. I managed to pop the cart out from the shell and reassembled everything. Pressed the button and boom -instant vapor. Boy, am I glad that I didn't rush to send it out for servicing. Now it looks like the only thing needing to be replaced will be my outer shell due to slight peeling (which I now know was due to a hot iso bath) and free spinning ring. I shall celebrate with more Hercules rips to the dome!

Been experimenting a little with mine as well, not very happy with the amount of concentrate I feel I've wasted. I think I've fried it a bit by using the 7.4 with the Herc and oil, but I did get a few good draws, just a ways to go though still technique wise. I just tried some herb with a small screen and whatever oil is now at the bottom of the mini hammer, seems like I did get a very nice medicated effect although I didn't really get a lot of density, so will go back at it tonight and report later.

Also, I was frustrated when reading the manual to realize I didn't have a 2.4 cart with the base kit. I appreciate the color coding in the user manual, but why wouldn't they include a cart so you can compare the difference? It seems to make more sense to include one 2.4 and one of the 5 ohms. I was bummed to receive mine and realize they hadn't read my note to call me to explain what other options I might need before shipping my order, but now that it is here I need to order more basic accessories and pay for more shipping. Is there something I'm missing?

I guess I just have to experiment more with my technique and wait for the fixes to come, but the taste is amazing and the Hercules gets me medicated very quickly, without any fire or mess! This thing with 2 sets of batteries and 4 quarter gram tanks is perfect for daily outings I must say!

I'm only averaging 8 to 12 decent sized hits per tank/0.25-0.3g of errl and I'm charging the AW IMR's after every 2nd tank.

Has anyone tried a third or fourth tank on one charge?

Does anyone have any tips for getting bigger rips?

Also it's pretty funny to note that this thread hasn't updated much since people have all been getting their Hercs lol!

Here's the technique I've been using and it's been getting me hits just as big as my nail and dome.

I load a nice dabs worth (maybe 0.1) into a tank and heat it with a lighter to prime it a bit. Next, I drop the tank in, screw the mouthpiece on, and then start pressing the button. I keep holding it until I hear a sizzling sound. As soon as I hear that sizzle, I begin pulling slowly and steadily for 30sec to a minute (basically until I can't anymore) - ALL WHILE REMAINING TO HOLD DOWN THE BUTTON! The result is a massive cloud that rivals a fat dab off of a TI nail - ONLY BETTER TASTING! After I stop coughing, I usually take a couple of cool down puffs and then load the tank back up for Round 2. I don't use the Hercules as a sipper, I use it as a nail cart. I load each tank with a nice dab and just knock them out one at a time. About three to four tanks in a session and I'm good for a bit. I'm literally reaching for my Hercules more than my rig. Try it out and let us know how it works out for you!

Edit: I would say the dabs I've been packing have been between 0.05 and 0.1.
