If you unthread the Hercules while its hot, its a lot less likely for the mouthpiece/top cap binding to cause the lower heater core to unthread from the Bottom Insulator.
I couldn't agree more on the herc and xl, I loved using it. I was always putting in more than I needed or doing just a little bit more. It's so easy to go crazy with that thing, I usually don't have the self control to do small doses.Just got my NibblerXL. I cannot believe how awesome the combination Herc and NibblerXL is!
I needed to use the thick O rings to seal it off properly. It is so smooth it is almost dangerous.
Now my main concern is how to keep it in one piece. I am pretty careful but my wife doesn't always think before she acts (which makes her a far more interesting person than me but every now and then things get broken).
How do you guys make sure the glass doesn't get broken?
Update:
This combination is lethal. We have just been puffing away for an hour. The taste is so good and the hits are consistent.
I am thinking of making a stand where it can lie at 60/70 degrees when attached to the Persei.
When mine isn't in use, I store it in a ryot large hardcase. http://www.ryot.com/index.php/ryot-smellsafe-hardcase-c-l.htmlJust got my NibblerXL. I cannot believe how awesome the combination Herc and NibblerXL is!

Nice tip. I will see if I can get it or something similar in the EU.When mine isn't in use, I store it in a ryot large hardcase. http://www.ryot.com/index.php/ryot-smellsafe-hardcase-c-l.html
@THC SCIENTIFIC Are there any plans for a v3 of the Okeanos?
I recently got the new bottom plate that allows you to run the Okeanos with the latest AC coils on a 510 mod which is awesome. One thing I would love to see released is a replacement, taller glass chamber.
The reason I seldom use the Okeanos is that you have to be so careful to not pull up water when hitting. Most people just can't master this and so I end up needing to fill a very small amount of water to make it usable in a social setting. If the center glass chamber were say twice the height this would be a great improvement.
If you look at some of the Okeanos copycats that have been released you'll notice they went for much taller but smaller diameter chamber. I feel the Okeanos' strength remains its large diameter because this should allow for better percolation. However, the height is just too short for good water volume.
Unfortunately the diameter of the Okeanos is just barely too big for it to fit into a side-car style mod like the Smoant Knight. If you could make it so the new Persei or 8 side-car version could hold a double height Okeanos running an EHD dual coil that would be incredible.
How do you clean your nibbler?my nibbler xl lasted through several hard falls. we're talking about parking lot hard. I ended up breaking part of the bottom while cleaning it in the sink. it still works, i covered the sharp bit with tape.
I haven't cleaned mine yet but plan to clean it using ISO (I have a good supply of ISO so I use it for cleaning most everything).
I intend to pour in a little ISO and shake. Then rinse thoroughly with water. Any better ways?
I'd be careful with that ultrasonic cleaner and glass... I have one also that I clean a lot of Vape accessories with, but never glass, I'd be afraid it would break from vibrating against the metal pan of the ultrasonic.I'm was usually pretty lazy about it and warmed up a mug of water to put he bag in and then I put a plate on top. I would just reheat the water (without the bag in it) a couple times. Shaking while the iso is warm helps a lot too. I'm a little spoiled now though and use an ultrasonic cleaner.
I actually hadn't thought of that, mine came with a little plastic basket so you can just lift stuff in and out with that. That must protect it from smacking against the metal.I'd be careful with that ultrasonic cleaner and glass... Well i had a quick nap after discussing the Odyssey with @SamuraiSam. Some how i caught him on video almost keeling over from using the Odyssey. Not that its a bad thing but I think the Odyssey was suppose to be more of an entry level desktop vaporizer but instead it is turning out more like a Dreadnought of desktop vaporizers.
This little development has the potential to absolutely fuck my tolerance.Well i had a quick nap after discussing the Odyssey with @SamuraiSam. This is exactly why I prefer the pressed fit of the sr-71 herc center pin I wish those were available separately@THC SCIENTIFIC & @SamuraiSam you guys should really try to sell the gold plated center pins alone. It sucks to have to buy the entire center post just to get the spring piece. I cant see the center post needing replacement anywhere near as often as the spring loaded pin. I am 6 weeks in and my spring has already collapsed, I dont ever go above 24 watts, usually at like 22.5, so I have no idea why it collapsed already. But if they continue to do so I will end up having tons of center posts sitting around cause all I really need is the spring loaded pin!!
Both should be available separately. Its quite ridiculous that a piece they consider "consumable" (and only last me 6 weeks) is not sold separately. So for me to replace my tiny spring loaded center pin it will cost $20.83!!! Its INSANE. Especially considering I do not need the center post. I want to order 1/2 dozen pins and not have to worry about them for awhile, is that too much to ask? This is exactly why I prefer the pressed fit of the sr-71 herc center pin I wish those were available separately
