Yup, they'll be called the 8, and the8 ;)

Nice one.

I want to know too, I'm excited for it. So far tc mode on the 2 boxes I've tried with the kiss ac dual coil have left me disappointed.

Wait, aren't there 2 versions of the new 8? Will they have different names?

They both will have the same name but model number different.

Like maybe 8LV and 8HV

I am sorry to say that after this batch of Hercules are finished there will be a price increase due to cost increases in production. Rising wages, and costs of doing business in USA. I cant say how many we have, but we are really low on them.

Is the price of replacement rods for the current gen Hercules going up too?

ragnorokk,
I don't have any trouble with my w9tech gear at all I've been having panic attacks whenever I've used them recently but I think herbivore cleared up why that's happening just gotta test and see if he's right
Certain strains do this to me, and if you concentrated them I can only imagine I'd have a srs episode. My wife forbid my continued consumption of white widow and a few others when I was working at a dispensary and had to test drive new strains that came in.
GL figuring it out and overcoming!

So I've been trying out my Kiss AC again now that I have a Nibbler for it. Unfortunately, I still just cannot get good performance out of the dual coil at 3.7v.

The coil heats up very slowly and I get very little vapor. Then I find that all of my concentrate has draining down through the bottom of the cart and into the air tube of the base clogging it. The single coils work fine and produce good vapor at 3.7v.

Has anyone gotten the dual coils to work at 3.7v? Is everyone just running 7.4v?

Appreciate the insight as I hear people rave about the Kiss AC but just can't get it to perform anywhere near the dual coils on the classic Kiss Globe.

@elmoe420

I have tried to run the dual coils at many different voltages and I never got any meaningful production under 6 volts.
If I use the dual coils now it has to be 7.4v for me because thats the experience I am expecting
I primarily run the single coil at 3.9-4.0v with the nibbler and I am totally satisfied with that setup

Thanks for confirming. This is just so weird to me because the old Kiss Globe dual coils produce huge vapor at 3.7v.

I haven't used 7.4v for wick and coil type carts for a long time now. The flavor just isn't there to me. The only thing I run at 7.4v now is my Herc.

I got this ceramic wick, XC116 (it's a braided ceramic product), for my RDAs and got the idea to try it with one of my KISS carts. I used one of the duel coil carts, but only rolled a single coil (the braided wick is much larger than the normal black ceramic wick). Seems to wok pretty good. Holds more than before. The braided wick really sucks up the concentrates when you prime it. I'm getting about twice as many hits. Just thought I'd throw that out there. Maybe something UP Tech should look into.

We looked into ceramic wicks even the braided ones, we are working on something else and hopefully we can get it done this year.

I don't have luck running dual coils at 3.7 either, they're what made me switch though. Besides the herc I was always at 3.7 before, but the dual coil taste is exceptional at 7.4. You just need to make sure you tap and feather, if you hold it it will burn. Nothing wrong with the single coil at 3.7 though, less harsh with a great taste. I'd be doing that if not for the dual coil.

Before the Nibbler-AC came out I had tested the AC, but didn't stick with it due to lack of H2O. Now I have been using it exclusively for the last few weeks I will say that I find dual coil at 7.4v a bit too quick to burn. I have trouble (after a certain dosage level has been reached) in feathering the button. I find the single coil at 3.7v quite good, but I feel like it needs another .5 volts or so.

Once the new 8 is available to control the heat I think the dual coil around 6.8v or the single coil around 4.2v will be my sweet spots.

The new omicron with its 4 power levels is ideal for pocket friend dual coil firing.

as we all know right about now is the side note section.

New Perseis being tested out for Titanium Ti Gr 2 Temperature control. This is the 18500 version, 18650 next version to test out with Ti, Hercules, 1701, Ni 200, Power Mode plus a few other options.

I know it looks like other mods, we decided not to spend a fortune on molds and just concentrate on the electronics.

If you have the core, try between 4.2 and 7.4 to find a better sweet spot :)

If you have an 8, might want to use the dual coil with 18350's that are slightly drained from previous use -- 2 fully charged AW 18350's was a bit much for my taste.

1 fully charged 18650 is basically insufficient. It can technically be done, but clouds need more like 6v to get going quickly.

Yeah can always use the Core but not what I want for a daily driver. Will try it on one of my TC mods next and see if I get better results.

I'm just one person but my favorite coil is the ceramic wicked, KISS gen 3 / AC dual coil cartridge, and I prefer it in the 3.7-4.2V range. I've tried the ceramic wicked and quartz wicked coils at many lower levels; both with and without water filtration. I'll take the dual Ti coil at 3.7V over 7.4 every day of the week.

The 7.4V 1701 is actually the only AC coil I use at 7.4V. I don't really like the KISS cartridges with that much power.

I load small amounts, a grain of rice sized amount tops. Excess oil can lead to leakage and longer heat up times.

As load sizes increase some users want to increase power or hold each cycle a few more seconds to try and overcome the increased load. I think this is self defeating as the higher heat just chases the oil away from the heat source, on KISS cartridge this causes splatter on walls and mouthpiece. The better solution is to use less power and a gentle inhale to create the same thickness vapor as a higher temperature fast draw. Pulsing the power with the right draw will give better performance than a lengthy sustained pull and push, Just my two cents.

Does this mean you won't be coming out with the one you showed prototype of earlier where the Herc actually went down into the box area? I thought that was very cool

Just ordered my Nibbler XL after figuring out the card issues. Super stoked to get it!

The side loaders are going to be the 8 series, the Persei will be a top loader.

Hmm interesting that you are able to get good performance out of the AC dual coil with only a single 18650.

Load size certainly isn't the problem but I will try pulsing the button more. At 3.7v I usually just ride the button.
