Is there a splash guard for oil splatter? I heard something about that.
We are slowly phasing in deeper coils to help with a splash guard. The reason we don't add a physical splash guard is because it gets dirty with oil and gets stuck, just not worth it to have a splash guard you need to take off consistently to load. People who quickly use one will realize that it is a pain in the ass and not worth the benefit when better designs are out there.
That's a very cool stand btw. I would want one, but I can't afford to want one lol
i actually get the best results loading smaller amounts i prime my coils with .2-.3 and load maybe .1-.2 on top and get very nice clouds i originally loaded much more when i first got it and got wispy hits because the oil was taking too long to heat up@TelFiRE Assuming everything is assembled correctly etc, IMO you need to load a fair amount. i.e. 0.5g as a primer and then up to another 0.5g to get the clouds going.

Sure, but isn't it a sign that something's wrong other than just amount loaded if I'm not getting herculean sized hits, regardless of load? Like in my assembly, or perhaps I'm doing something wrong? I mean I get much much more from the KISS.
Can you check the resistance of the rod?
IF you really think your Herc is under performing then it could be either rod placement or batteries
Are you using the batteries that came with the persei? Because in order to get the best performance you need the AW IMR series batteries (not included with Persei kit)
Well I mean it's definitely underperforming, but it's most likely something I did wrong. Just trying to figure it out. I don't know how to check the resistance of the rod. I am not using the batteries that came with the Persei but the ones recommended for the Herc.
Could be a few things, Most commonly is the Rod placement inside the Hercules, second issue could be a bad battery. Please submit a ticket on our site and Sam our friendly neighborhood Technician will get you up and running asap.
Ok will do! Just didn't wanna bother you guys if it was a common problem. It's awesome how active you guys are responding to people! Thanks!
Snagged some calipers to measure for ya... My Persei measure from 23.97mm to 24.01mm if you want to be real specific. Chrome V2 is my thickest at 24.01 and my V4 unit is 23.97.I think I'll grab 1 or 2 of the $30-ish ones. I just need to find/get a precise measurement for the persei diameter, the best I have is a ruler. I really like the style of them.

@TelFiRE I've asked about Nibbler XL availability. As soon as I hear back you'll know
well. It's working now. Soooo good. Beats my dab rig for flavor and now the clouds are great!
Amazing work on the Hercules SR-74x. Thank you so much for help getting it working. This thing is godly.
If anyone is interested in rebuilding the dual coils for the AC, 7 wraps on each coil with 32 gauge NiChrome wire at 20 Watts is pure extacy.
