If the rod comes in between 1.9 ohms and lower resistance (this means higher the number) then you can go up to 8.3v-8.4v

you mean 1.9ohms+? what is the range of the sr74x ohms? so each rod has different ohms?
so then most of the sr74x cant run above 7.5v? only the lucky ones can run 7.5v+
No, the SR-71 rod only works on the -71. It will not work with the spring loaded post of the -74. The 71 rod is lower resistance and produces higher wattage so you must use different techniques than the 74.can i use the sr71 and sr74 rods on the hercules sr74x? which one do you think is better the sr71 white rod or the sr74 white rod.
Very well said @SamuraiSam. I run the SR71 at 8.4v with fully charged batteries. It's a real powerhouse with fresh batteries. That being said, I have to be real careful not to hold the button too long or else I burn my load.Every time batteries come off a charger they are at 4.2V. In series voltages add so that's 8.4V. Same as running 8.4V on the Core. E = I x R. Where E is electromotive force measured in Volts. I is current measured in amperes. R is Resistance measured in ohms. two ways here to get more power, voltage goes up and amperage goes down with the same voltage applied. Or decrease the resistance. P = I x E where P is power (measured in Watts) so you can see that both increasing Voltage or increasing Amperage or decreasing resistance will create more wattage
Voltage is like the pressure in the water plumbing. Resistance would be a kink in that hose. The greater the resistance, or the higher the measurement in ohms, the more force (voltage) it takes to move electrons past that point of resisstance. Or if you leave the voltage the same the total flow (amperage) is going to be less. It's that resistance to electron flow that creates heat, and is the basis for electronic heater circuits. This is why a 7.4v ti kiss cart at about 2.1+/- a few or -74 rod at about 2.3 ohms has a higher resistance than the 1.0 ohm 3.7v ti kiss cart or .8 ohm black ceramic heating rod. Lower resistance for lower voltage.
PS curious about why you cant run the 1.5 ohm 71 rod at 8.4V? Well actually on batteries you can. But the core has a 5 amp limit. Plug 1.5 ohms into those formulas and see what kind of amp draw you see @ 8.4V
I was thinking about buying a kiss mini and a ss kit for my Persei so I can run one 18350(3.7v).So it will be super short and stealthy when out and about just wondering if the battery will be enough to get mabey like ten hits or so? Has anyone tried this and how did it work and how long was the persei all assembled? Or would I be better off buying a new vape?
