Thank you very much, that's exactly what o was looking forThe herc is indestructible entirely user serviceable has the best taste and vapor production and can hold large amounts so you can load it and not worry about carrying extra
the kiss are more discrete easier to pass off as an ecig much easier to learn and are kinda disposable if your not able to rebuild them and must be loaded every 2-3 hits
The Herc is amazing but it has a few downsides in my case
Steep learning curve when you first get the Herc.
Can't hand it to a Noob without them messing it up.
With my high tolerance I heat up the Herc too much during a session and end up with reclaim in the bottom chamber.
Spent too much time maintaining the damn thing.
Most of these issues stem from me trying to do too much with it, but that's how I roll. If you aren't a fiend like me the Herc probably works better.
I like the KISS carts for their simplicity. I also abuse the hell out of them but I spend less time fussing with them compared to the Herc. When they get dirty I soak them in ISO and I rebuild them when they break.
I'm glad I got the Herc + Nibbler XL but I use my KISS + Okeanos way more!
(too bad it's so unfriendly to new-users lol...)
Hey everyone,
I obtained a Persei + Hercules SR74+ combo and had a few questions, I traded someone for it so its used.
First of all, i discovered when I opened it up the "Ceramic Rod Retaining Collar" was missing. Is this a huge deal? I removed the "Star Ring" since it wasn't being held down by anything. Anyway, it does work, but not very well. I loaded about 0.5 BHO in and it all just melted into the "Heater Core Lower Section". I'm sure this is user error, but thats why I'm here to get it figured out!
Also, I have 2 Efest IMR 18650 3.7V LI-MN 35A 2500mAh batteries to use with the persei, will they be good for it?
Also as I was typing this the thread that actually screws into the persei on the "Bottom Insulator" just snapped off -_- damn. Ill have to go update my missing parts ticket.
Anyway, so my questions, how do you guys normally use this thing? I'd like to be as efficient as possible. And from what I've read about the SR74+, its suppose to really let you stretch out your stash correct?
Heres some photos so maybe you guys can identify how old it is and everything with the serials.
Yeah, your good with that setup.... but you do need the retaining collar. Your vapor production is weak because that nut holds the rod in place. You may wanna look for higher quality batteries as well. Travel back through this thread to find the beginning answers..
I totally agree with you. I really haven't thought about it much because I'm new to the concentrates game, but I think the kiss carts are much more efficient than the hercules. With the kiss, I can put on a half dab and get 2-3 large clouds. With the herc, I just keep puffing because it's so easy to hit, and I can go thru a lot quickly. I think that is how it was designed (or EO carts would be more popular???)I have been having near identical results as you, with one thing I would add - I find myself using KISS carts more and more lately because the Herc wastes all my oil
The problem is that it just tastes too good, and you can load so much in there... I could sit there and vape a whole gram of wax in one session on that bad boy. I do like having it as a show-off though, nobody has a freakin sweet oil vape like I do! (too bad it's so unfriendly to new-users lol...)
Don't get me wrong I love my herc and it's my main tool, but it does have some downsides. Nothing is perfect! I am hoping the alpha-c can truly bridge this discrepancy between the herc and kiss, it could fill a much needed position!

Personally I dont care for the Hammer top with KISS carts at all. It's way too much button pressing. 7.4V forget about it! The Hammer top is great for the Hammer rod and that's it for me. The rare occasion I use the Hercules 3.7v rod the Hammer top is nice. I leave mine on my Core tube!confession: i don't own a persei. i've been using the core through the omicron to power my hercules.
so, if i buy a hammer top and a persei ss kit, will i have everything i need to use the hercules untethered to the core? i already have 18650s. are there any disadvantages to going about it that way? does the hammer top have an on/off feature, like the omicron? how does the hammer top do with kiss cartridges?
All we know is the alpha-c is something in between a regular KISS cartridge and a herc sr74 and it is coming very soon.
Do you like the Bender on higher or lower voltages? I assume you have a core. One additional thing, since I just received a V4 top a few days ago: The inclusion of Hammer functionality on the V4 top is a game changer. It opens up the possibility to experiment with locked on mode at any time you want without the hassle of changing tops. I find myself using Hammer mode pretty often now with my Hercules now when using the Core on low voltage and also when my batteries have lost their initial burst of 8v powerrrrr.
Tomorrow I'll have to try out the Bender on the V4 top and see how it handles that.
I wish I knew something about it other then I want it but that is not the case.So do you guys think the Alpha-C is the triton, minus the okeanos? Prolly gonna be easy to switch into an okeanos?

I kind of want to sell my Bender (especially since they don't sell them on W9 anymore), but I probably would regret it as soon as they released the 1900 hammer rod. My only problem with the bender is heat up time, otherwise it's very tasty & efficient (on herb, not batteries lol). What about you?
Dude, you bring your Bender in the car?!?!? Thats even more legit than my constant porta Herc/Nib action, IMHO. Really these days I only use my Bender on my Hammer top with my Core and variable voltage. I like to crank it to 8.4 and let it heat up and pull air through the herb and I start turning the voltage down. So this is one of the big reasons I am a fan of rotary encoders/dials like my Cloud EVO has, I can warm the Evo up at 2 o clock and then I can turn down the temperature to where I want to start using it (around 9:30-10:00). While the unit comes down to temperature its heat soaking and getting ready to rock hard (Many EVO owners report the vapor quality/density increases if you wait another 10 minutes after warm up before use particularly if you want to use lower temperatures but still get good vapor density). Then I start using the thing and taking hits, turning the dial up in small increments as the herb gets toasty.Personally, I can't wait for the "universe" to see if any attachment will ever replace joints for me. The herbalizer does the trick at home & the bender does the trick in the car (if I am with patient people. Crossing my fingers that the 1900 rod reduces heat up time drastically), but the bender definitely isn't "on the go", the hercules isn't that great for herbs & every 501 attachment I've tried tastes like a metal pipe (YUCK. JOINTS!!)
Even buying a whole new Persei will not get you a V4 quite yet...I kind of want a V4 top, but there isn't a way to get one without buying a whole new persei? I kind of like the hammer top with my sr74. It's what I use with my core & hercules in the car. But I want any button top, because I want to learn how to use my okeanos once they release the alpha C or triton & make that my go to for concentrates in the car; then use the sr74 3.7 for on the go
But I guess I could replace the nemesis I use with my sr71 (& adapter) & persei bubbler, with a new persei.
The V4 tops are being issued for warranty replacements AFAIK.I'm thinking of buying a persei set up right now, what I'm considering the most is persei v4 + core + herc74. Is this the best set up to reach the full potential of the Persei? Where can I find the information for first time users?
