Terps Up, Temps Down
I've iso soaked every part including my iris top with no issues. In fact I have a few OG kiss carts soaking now.

Here is my personnal herc trick working so far: feel the oil staying in the upper chamber. Cool down hits with enough pressure. Too much pressure and your mouth piece (or screen if you use it) gets gunked, not enough and the oil melts down in the 2nd chamber. All in my newb humble opignonI still get some messy material seeping out the holes on the side of the Heater Core. I do lots of cool down hits and store on the side but it still gets messy. Sounds like the more experienced members have solved this somehow. I'm listening to any suggestions from the group.
Looks like u need more buffer oil. Did u clean out the coil?
One more thing to check since you added a new coil is to make sure the coil is not sliding up. If the herc resistance is good and the coil does not move, you should get clouds. After cleaning a SR 71, I usually get weak clouds until I start adding more buffer oil. Sometimes it seems like enough is in the chamber when in reality you need more. General rule is if you can you see the coil clearly , you need more buffer oil.I put a new coil in it. And I will try adding more oil.
Hey I currently have a source ORB dab pen and am now currently looking for a different pen for concentrates. After looking around for a bit it seems like the Persei would be a great option. I am wondering what you guys thought about the persei kit or the pass through system and a Hercules. Don't really know much of the differences between the various setups and was wondering for you guys thought was best and what the different setup combos are haha

Or the 8 "infinity umbrella" I think? For the 8 vaporizer@420time don't forget about the triton!!!
If you heat the upper section with a heat gun to loosen the oil, the coil becomes much easier to remove without damage. Pushing up from the bottom thru the small hole the rod goes through, rather then 'picking' out from the top, also helps. But you have put much more oil through your Hercs than I have. I'd read about turning the Herc upside down and using a heat gun on a fairly high heat to melt all old oil out of the coil, and I haven't tried it yet but sounds like a good technique. Was that you?never remove the coil unless I want to throw it out, because I will destroy it in the removal/cleaning process.
If there is no power to the electronics, and the ISO is pure (99%=You've got balls of steal, my friend. I would never risk iso soaking something with electronics in it.
Love your name. Same as a local ski group, and jump at my home mountain (Mt. Baker). If you are looking for something similar to the ORB then the Omi is good. If you want a step up then the Persei would be perfect. The CORE power supply "pass through" is an add-on that you would need a device to use, so that might be something to consider as an accessory or supplement, not a replacement for one of the vaporizers themselves. The Hercules are awesome and if you want the most flexibility, power, taste- the Persei+Herc is indeed a fantastic setup.Hey I currently have a source ORB dab pen and am now currently looking for a different pen for concentrates. Yes, the Iris has/will have a 601 threading and will fit all the Hercules carts.@THC SCIENTIFIC
So when are the touch Persei coming out? Also whats going on with the Kiss Alpha C carts, and the "iris v2" coming out?
Anyone know if the Iris v2 will fit the hercules sr74x?
The Hercules was designed to be powered by the Persei with 2x high discharge, IMR 18350 or bigger batteries for 7.4V. It also has 601 threading. If you can find another device that meets those specifications, it will work. Depending on the type of device you are referring to, there are different answers for these questions, also depending on your experience level. Some information here:Does anyone know if you can use the sr74x with variable voltage e cig mods?
I'm not sure what question you're trying to ask here. The Persei is a power supply, and provides power to the SR74x, which is a cartridge that contains a heating element. The temperature of that heating element is determined by several things, like the oil it's bathed in, the length of your button holds, the velocity of your draw (inhalation speed), the charge on the batteries, etc.The sr74x works same temp as the persei?

can someone who uses the heat gun method post a link to a heat gun that would work for this technique. There seems to be a wide range according to cost and don't want to waste money on something that doesn't work. Thanks
