I only have experience with wax at the moment, but getting some shatter tomorrow. Going to do a full cleaning first. Still have a little oil in the second chamber.

I'm still having an issue with the herc 74x. Everything is working, as in the rod is getting hot and there's good contacts throughout the unit, a good buffer, and low-seated coil. The herc is getting very hot, but minimal vapor. It feels/sounds like the oil is just bubbling up. When I stop drawing, I hear a crackling sound.

did you possibly mix the 74x with the original 74 components? when i did a full cleaning i mistakenly used the bottom chamber of the 74 with the top of the 74x and was experiencing what you mention above.

that does make sense if he had the 74 first putting the shorter bottom of the 74 with the shorter top of the 74x might be short enough to create an air gap between the mouth piece and the stainless steel top and if that happened you wouldn't be pulling air through the herc chambers just the outer plastic shell

No, I only have an sr74x, kiss carts, and original persei unit. Seems once the herc gets fairly warm/hot, i get no vapor and just a bunch of bubbling. And its getting real hot. Could my coil possibly be sliding up? I have a feeling its this because I can get it real hot, and when I stop dragging, I hear it crackling, possibly from the coil sliding back down, and the oil getting hotter?

If that's not happening with fully charged batteries, a coil that is seated firmly in the bottom of the chamber, then there has to be a fault or poor connection somewhere. You squished your coil so it doesn't slide up while you draw, right?

Yes squishing the coil is still recommended, why a few posts have been asking if your coil is firmly seated in the bottom. How did you squish your coil? Two ways to do it, ovalizing it slightly to create an interference fit seems to work well for a lot of people.

Hey all, I have a question regarding The Core -

I see on the website that it says 5amp maximum output. Does this mean that the core will not provide good results with a sub-ohm rda? Right now I'm running a .61 ohm macro coil, and using the ohms law calculator that ends up higher than 5amps at 3.7volts... Any advice from Core users?

That's how I squished my coil. It is sitting properly. I was just being skeptical, so I double checked. So its not the coil moving around. I'm pretty busy the next 3 days, so I will take apart the herc and reasemble and put a new coil in.

I put about .25g in. Saturated the coil. Then threw .2 or so on top to vape. I'm using the Sr74x by the way. The latest. Maybe I'll throw the air flow ring back on. I'm just trying to think of everything it could possibly be.

I will say that the kiss carts and especially the globes kick ass. Flavor and size from the 3.7v globe!

Dont quit on your herc chronickiller7, its worth it. I have no hunch as to why you are having problems, but I will share my herc71 learning curve. I still didnt check my bottom reclaim chamber, but I feel I get enough clouds for the material I put.

During the cooldown hits, I think I need to pull hard enough to keep the concentrate up. And I do 1 or 2 delayed pumps while I hold my cloud in. Just enough to hear a gurgling noise. Feel the oil engaging the holes leading to the bottom chamber poping back up.

Bad time with my Persei V2, I just made a nice shatter and want to try it front the TV with my persei+kiss cart 7.4v, sometime it worked, sometime it was blinking until I heard a noise, I thought it my kiss was die and screw my hercule but I didn't hit it straight, I waited some minutes and when i came back to hit it it was already hot, very hot (without light), especially the persei top but the hercule too (all my load was liquified and go down in the reclaim chamber)....

What do you think of that? did I fry my top? (I tried it with my core but it only blink....)

THC Scientific, I got the Persei from another menber but you told me if I need warranty it will be threw the previous owner, my issue is the previous owner is not more active here and I can't contact him anymore...how can I get my top repaired or replaced? do you need I pay for warranty?

I was really happy with my Persei setup until today, no leaks, amazing performances and taste, the only downside is the battery, the 2 stocks batteries was dead after less than one month of daily use, I picked up 4x AW imr and I suspect a pair of battery to be near of the death (it was the battery i used when my top fried and they gave me lot of blinking issue in the past, I might throw them!

To date I don't think anyone in this forum has built one except for a few. I tried, but that Ti wire is tough to work with. Not to mention the couplers. You need some sort of assist jig. Like the circuit board guys.

I ordered one kit too, but I dont have the small pliers to squish the crimplets. So I havent tried to rebuild one yet.

Maybe pinch the wire wrapped around the ceramic with some kind of paper clip to keep it well wrapped?

I have not tried with the Ti wire in the kit. I will have to try one this weekend, and take some pics along the way. The wire unwinding was not really an issue with NiChrome.

I have a question about the kiss carts cleaning. I ISO the atomizer.

One of my attys has a big black ceramic rod with only 4 coils wrapped. I tried testing it dry but keep getting vapor.

The second atty has a thinner ceramic rod with 6 loops. That one glowed red when I dry fired it and there was some vapor but no more. It looks white between the tightly wound ceramic, while the outside ceramic is black.

Any advice? I ISO overnight and dried it for 2 days.

Hey guys, I see you guys have doubts on the rebuild kits, I am sausage finger a construction guy and these things are the best thing since silicon containers, I have rebuilt about 6 or 7 from one rebuild kit and they have all worked amazingly( only limited by the 14 pcs non resistance lead)(I could have probably got 10 haha). All have worked and I didnt use the tester thingy (probably not recommended).

Now for ease of assembly I just have a wooden skewer that has a small split in one end, I put about a half inch of the titanium wire through and just twist the wooden stick 6-7 between my thumb and index finger, voila coilà. The wire will try spring loose at the end if you dont keep fair tension during the wrap (as mentioned).

I think the rest is cheese, insert porous wick in coil, place that assembly in ceramic cup, crimp non resistance leads on( I use full size needle nose, no special tools needed).
Also I leave them full length(hence possibly my shortage) it seems to make it easier to guide the two wires through exterior metal housing.

Disclaimer here, every coil I have built has worked but not the first time I screw it in, nothing more than minor adjustments to get it going flawlessly, also beware bending the titanium wire at a sharp angle it will create a weak spot. Only one out of the 7 I have rebuilt has failed and it was the one I accidentally bent sub par.

Two different coils up top, different thicknesses, both work great. Diameter of coil and the chamber is 10.5mm.
