So does that mean that if we send our top in for repair they'll come back a V4? If that's the case, I may have a few coming incurrently the v4 tops are for repairs only, and once we catch up with the repair department we will have them available for upgrades for anyone who wishes to get it.
This has happen to me too. With the kiss, globe, and SR71. It keeps heating the cart even after button release. It's a core problem IMO. I tried the persei and omicron. Both do the same thing.@THC SCIENTIFIC is the core supposed to make the cart heat without pressing the button? Just spoke up for a wake and vape, realized I forgot to unplug everything, & noticed that the cart was hot. Took a puff and guess what? Some pretty gnarly vape. Further investigation revealed that nearly a 1/4 g (on top of the buffer) was BURNT. Not in the lower chamber, but straight up crispy/crunchy black shit all up in the top chamber. That was $25 worth of shatter.... Tested it just to make sure, but it's definitely producing vapor without hitting the blue light
Edit: After cleaning/reloading, I can barley get any vapor... pretty sure i just wasted damn near a gram of top shelf shatter ($90).

Obviously I am not @DaNi_DuB but I can tell u that it does output voltage. Not full voltAge but enough to heat the cart and burn the concentrate if not careful. I noticed this first with a kiss cart. This is a intermittent problem for me. I can not always replicate this specific problem. There have been times where my Persei/Omicron cannot stop firing. The blue button light stay on!!! When this happens I unplug the core. I love the core but lately it has been sitting gathering dust. Always a hit or miss with my particular unit. I sure do miss it...@DaNi_DuB try plugging your Persei intro the Core without a cart attached. Then test the top with a meter to see if you have voltage at the contacts for the top with and without the button pressed.
That is a strange problem indeed. I never leave anything plugged in to the Core so maybe I haven't seen this issue myself. Looks like I need to do some science-ing to see if mine does that.Obviously I am not @DaNi_DuB but I can tell u that it does output voltage. that's concerning.I called uptech and spoke to them, they said the 8 won't have a ss kit and they won't offer tech support on it.
that's concerning.
sr-74 back in stock today, I called uptech and spoke to them, they said the 8 won't have a ss kit and they won't offer tech support on it. They also said there will be sale on friday but he couldn't tell me much except that some items will go on sale. I'm going to order the 8 oil vaporizer with sr-74 and sr-74x upgrade. I think I will order batteries from ebay, going to get 4 18350 since the sr-74 is 7.4v. Is there a better battery? Does this plan sound good, I don't wanna miss anything. I have nitecore charger and a bunch of 18650 already.
sounds very reasonable especially considering what uptech provides to our community.Since the 8 is a full mech mod and can be rebuilt from the ground up we expect the end user to be able to diagnose it. If they can't only way for us to help is for you to send it in with pay for shipping to be returned.
This is why our tech support on the 8 is limited.
What I said is the people who purchase the 8 should have a concept of what the 8 is about, they should have some experience with mechanical mods, as our tech support on it will be limited for one reason.
And that reason is this.

Now as far as the core heating things up when plugged in without the button being pressed is not how the core works.
If people are having issues with core the most likely cause is the top.
