Sorry, but v3 is not the universal solution; I have a v3 top having a lot of 3 blink problems with my 3.7v carts.
Imho, thats not some quirks I should be putting up with and be comprehensive. I bought an sr71 and quitted on it, killed 2 7.4v kiss in 3-4 days, so 3.7v is what im using. The need to unscrew/screw my cart, place the button looking up to see if its actually firing were not things I signed for. The herc and the 7.4v kiss are user errors. Thats on me.
But the 76usd core having connection problems was never mentionned anywhere before I bought mine. I didnt signed for this too. I didnt have problems with it for a few days, but it came back yesterday on top of the 3.7v 3blinks.
Sorry for the negative here, but I had to vent. I understand having to put up with quirks on new and proprietary technologies (the hercules sr71) to have them now and/or experience something not many have. But I dont think a power supply or connecting a 3.7v cart are technologies hot enough to justify the quirks coming with them.
you can buy them here while they last http://www.w9tech.com/hercules-sr-71-vaporizer-cartridge-persei/
I do not how how beneficial those missing parts are(besides the coil)

They have one less now...
I feel a little better.
Got around to using a new ti coil for the Hercules but after priming the coil, I find that it keeps moving up the rod on the cool down hits. I tried squishing it into an oval shape but that didn't help too much. Any advice? Idk why this didn't happen with my first one..
Edit: really odd...I set the herc down after a small session, it's still attached to the Persei and just standing upright on the table. I check on it after smelling something weird, open the top and the coils empty and all the wax leaked through.. No idea how that happened since I was there the whole time and no one ever touched it. The coil smells kinda bad and idk wtf happened. Time to reclean
Is there anyway to clean the coil so it doesn't smell/taste burnt
Holy fuck.. That's messed upFucking tragedy. My Persei/Herc and slick stack got me escorted off the property at Haloween Horror Nights last night. Didn't even get in the gate. Banned for a year. Effing N*zis. Confiscated and almost taken to jail!
See "Fuck You Thread" for full rant".
Hmmm... I have a hammer top that is now giving me the Blinkenlights error when I press the button at 7.4v, fresh charged batteries. Last night, I got a small puff off, then got the Blinkenlights ever since.
I haven't thoroughly troubleshot yet, as I'm at work, but works fine on a v1 top (if there was a short, it would have gone *poof*, right?), swap back and Blinkenlights again.
Has anyone seen a S-74 white rod change resistance to trip the Blinkenlights like that? (My next steps are to get a multimeter and get a reading, failing that, try with a 5 ohm EO cart, then step to a 3.7 black rod and a 18650 - I'm not panicking yet, just speculating!)
Wouldn't the 3x combo of Single v1 top + Double v1 top + Hammer v1 top be good for a new head swap? (Though it's kinda cool to strut around with oldschool tops)
*Blinkenlights = press the button and you get three flashses with no power as a response
Are u experiencing blinking lights during use of the core? Or battery power? Can anyone report success running the 1701 donut off a Persei + core and what voltage they used?
Experiencing constant frustration with the blinky lights of death at 3.7v and 4.2v.
I have a v3 Persei top. Core seems to work much better running the Sr74 at 7.4v.

When you push the button does the core screen display LO or flashes PROTECTION?During use of the core. I have no Iris so the only way to bump up the voltage on the 1701 donut is via the core.
If I just want to run the donut at 3.7v I can do that on my Omicron Lite. Vapor production is too weak that way though IMO.

My v3 persei had been running my 3.7v carts (and 7.4v as usual) flawlessly for the last 2 days on batteries(exclusively for the 2 days). I screw my globe at 3.7v this afternoon, . So I risk using my 1701 donut at 4.4v on the core and I get the 3 blinking lights.. I need to screw/unscrew my globe for every button press.. Taste was awesome though. Can anyone report success running the 1701 donut off a Persei + core and what voltage they used?

fwiw, my core display doesnt react when giving 3 lights blink. The word protection appears constantly. When you push the button does the core screen display LO or flashes PROTECTION?
I do get a tiny bit, not nearly as much now with the upgrade.@Vape Dr. Was looking at one of your blog reviews over at W9 for the Okeanos and I noticed that you fill your KISS cart to the brim. Don't you have issues with the oil getting sucked out and splattering on the inside of the Okeanos vapor chamber when it is that full?
