The Nomad From Morwood

In the last update he said it was because he hadn't been able to get the Nomads to the point he wanted for the photos. So I guess he's still not there. These aren't shipping in March.
I agree. That said, if he does start shipping new Toads in late April, with these still in Limbo, I am not going to be happy.

Maybe a more appropriate name for the vape at this point might be the Fugitive.

When did batch 2 start? Asking for a (batch 3) friend..

He started the email updates for batch 2 on 10/1/21. I think the work started before that but unclear when. He was supposed to start around October 2020 after we all paid but it took many more months for him to finish batch 1. I think he just started some preliminary stuff for batch 2 while he was finishing batch 1.

As grateful as I am to be in the batch, I will admit it is pretty wild that a batch of 40 devices would take 3.5 years.

Sometimes I wonder if he only gets to spend like 1 or 2 hours a day working on them.

I was under the impression that this is his sole source of income.

I paid in 2020 so a little bit of a wait to say the least. I honestly dont mind and just hope he proceeds with batch 3. Id say this whole debacle is weighing on him. He might have found some production efficiencies over the last few years and get the next batch done in a shorter time.

So i found all of this so curious as it seems like most of the posts are about "when am I going to get mine". From what i can see on here Dan Morrison is a very talented artist and i find these vaporizers to be very aesthetically pleasing.

But it seems its hard to find other reviews etc. outside mostly HERE on FC. So i have 2 questions i wanted to ask :
  • What kind of design is it? in basic terms.
  • How is it to use? Anything else unique?

I go back to old advertising expression "ask the Man who Owns One"

I was gonna say some, but you would think for a vape that people wait YEARS to get there would be some rabid fans.
Many of us started as rabid fans and to an extent still are. I have a Toad and it's a great device. But time and time again -- for literally years -- we have been told "real soon now." I paid for this thing almost 5 years ago. Even here "in the country of the vape, the one man shop is king" it got to be too much, especially while we've seen large numbers of Toads go out the door while we heard nothing regarding our paid for Nomads. Our patience has been stretched very thin.

See? You’d be high if you had that pesky Nomad!
Oh, that's just normal, it's not worth pointing out.

I'm not trying to excuse dan at all, but there are lots of examples in this thread. @fangorn alone could fill a hard drive with their images. We also got mock ups when we ordered. Asf far as performance, same...? The oression I get is that it's akin to the Milaana etc, but different like they all are.

Performance-wise it's more civilized than a Milaana. Less of a lung buster but vapor is cooler and easier on the throat (due to longer stem and 14mm system)

The major difference is in terms of craftsmanship and attention to details. The finish is flawless. Dan is a perfectionist and it's a dual-edged sword, since if he had less stringent quality expectations your Nomads would already be in your hands.

Do we maybe tag him or email him about this thread? Or all of us emailing him? People power...?

LOL thx everyone, not trying to be lazy but there are 244 pages to this. I will specifically look for Fangorn posts. Yes i have been using Google & found this Gem. A preview of the NEW Nomad II. That post on Reddit is 5 years old so i understand a single artisan takes time. Still beautiful stuff. I truly appreciate it but have convinced myself i do not need to spend that kind of money on a single Vaporizer, which is why I like reading all about it. https://www.reddit.com/r/vaporents/comments/dsm6lp

how is it possible, not to find enough pictures or reviews of this beauty?! 😁

i'm biased... but i've gotten rid of all the "best portable convection vaporizers of the last few years" (TM, FW7, TP80, tempest, anvil, etc.) since i got my hands on one of dan's, and his incredible heater!

there may be vaporizers, slightly better in terms of flavors, others slightly faster to heat, others more efficient... but there is none with such qualities, as compact, and with such aesthetics and such quality of craftmanship....

some new pictures of my OG #005...

with the High Artisan stem, which replaces the one broken a few weeks ago...

this new stem is very nice... the mouthpiece is special... like a nipple... not unpleasant!! 😅

For those of you here attempting to invoke the "one man perfectionist shop" argument, sorry, I'm not buying it anymore. Transparency or speed: pick one. We get neither. Had we gotten regular, honest updates during the YEARS that nothing seemed to be happening except a flood of Toads with elaborate, complex, obviously time-consuming artwork going out the door, I might be able to deal with it taking this long. I have been tempted so many times to reply to a "look at my awesome new Toad" post with "Congrats! Enjoy my Nomad!" So if you take your dear sweet time you have to communicate. We have been led on for close to 5 years now.
