The Nomad From Morwood

I was playing with my friends Sticky Brick the other day and came to the realization that theoretically the Nomad could relatively easily have some sort of butane heater "module." Maybe have a glass butane "intake" (similar to the Brick) coming out of the heater hole. Might have to experiment with some glass and o-rings once I get mine... assuming it's even half-way feasible.

Also got me thinking about battery-less modules (for if 18650's were to ever stop being manufactured or whatever(?)); maybe a desktop module that can be plugged in, or an Okin-style charcoal module. Don't know about how any of this would work, just throwing out some possibly dumb ideas!

Haha! After seeing this I went and took the flame intake from my Sticky Brick Jr and it fits in the hole where the heater goes! I'm not gonna actually try it, but it made me smile

Love all the feedback from the new owners. You guys got me to revisit the High heater and get the technique down for that one so I could pretty much roll with either. I was feeling pretty confident about reliability of this vape with one heater, with two, that's some vape security
So is Batch 2 just about done @Dan Morrison ? Looking forward to seeing lucky batch 3 units come to life. Looking more forward to batch 4.
Took #001 to get the Presidential Seal of Approval. He dug it.

Hello good people, I'm the lucky owner of the Nomad n°55, in the batch 2

I would like to say, after a while using it, how happy I am with my unit.

First, but it's not a surprise as I am a big admirer of @Dan Morrison 's work, it is made with a high quality craftmanship. I really like the sensation in hand, the weight, how the stem or the sleeve slide, that's perfect imo. It's a pleasure to see it on the salon table or in a chilling place. It breathes the harmony.

There's a small learning curve, I was close to combustion with the low heater at the first try. But I can say it goes really fast to be learnt. I use now both heater, they are very complementary and I'm happy to have bought both. I usually use the small ring of wood in the stem, it's a really good idea!

I'm a flavor chaser guy and the Nomad is doing a wonderful job in this category.
And I love the wood and the wood working, so it's a pleasure to use a vape made of wood, to feel his warm feeling, and not a plastic one... Maybe for the batches to come, Dan, you could create a wooden sleeve? Even if I like the graphic side of the japanese paper.

Well, thanks a lot Dan for your amazing work. With the Nomad I bought not only a vape but a piece of art!
But don't get me wrong, it's a really efficient piece of art!

What's your collar?

If the Nomad can can provide for flavour chasers like you, and also come close to combustion (with the low heater no less!) then it should appeal to the widest base of users possible.

If they work well for me (and I suspect they will), I aim to either buy a few from Dan, or turn some extras.

First I want to say that I love my nomad. I think it’s just about perfect. It’s a tractive and small and easy to use.

but I’ve managed to break one of the little glass stems that came with it. I really liked using the caps with the wood in the middle. I only have one of the little glass stems left so I’d like to know what I can buy as an alternative. I’ve tried different shaped ones I have at home none of them are working except one wood stem that I got from Alan. What size glass stems would work with my nomad.

Also What are the loading capsule things mentioned in the previous post

I was referring to the wooden rings that fit inside the glass stems.
I just called them capsules for want of a better name.

Good evening all!

Been learning and loving mine. I'm still going back and forth between the low and hi heaters, I like them both and they serve different purposes for me.

I've also been playing around with my new 3d printer and came up with a proof of concept model for something I think will be very handy for those of us that use only one screen and loading for all. I go one screen now a lot more because this makes it easy.





I'll be adjusting a few of the dimensions, but even as-is, it makes it very convenient to be out and about with doob tubes a stir tool and my Nomad!

She's a filling aid and goes back on to contain the stir. There's more but I need to figure out a few things before I go much further. Unfortunately the Nomad is hard to put down and works very well. It's a great combination, for everything except making progress on a project like this!

Typing this has the mind whirring with ideas, maybe the Nomad is good for progress!

Love the direction of this thread, but really love my Nomad!
