bought the mighty aswell and compared to MFLB the difference is like day and night.
Does anybody else still keep hitting their mighty after it shuts down cuz da oven is still hot and its still producing vapor alot and I feel that if i dont hit it aftter it shuts down it just goes to waste hehe.

Oh and when I hit it my temp only drops for 5degree celsius MAX.. normally like 1-2c :)

I always keep hitting it when it switches off for a bit normally if I do a lower temp first I let it turn off after a bit then I can switch it on later at a higher temp to finish off :D:leaf:

I can't wait for the Mighty! My Crafty just knocked off the LSV as my daily driver, ever since getting @Ratchett's WPA. I imagine the Mighty will take over this role as I make the Crafty the portable driver for out and about. I'm just getting such better performance than my LSV....consistent as well, and milk city!

I've been able to drop my Crafty like 40c!!! But I have massive lungs and do it intentionally. In general I get about a 5-10c drop. I'm assuming the Mighty won't be any different in this respect?

You are correct. In fact, because of the battery management that kicks in when you lose 2 bars (more after that) the Mighty will give you more "high performance" sessions than Crafty.
I can attest to that! Last night I finally got some concentrates so I loaded a small patty on top of my material. Put the pad on top of that and WHOA
Clouds on clouds at 190. Pushed it to 200 and then I had to quit after 3 draws. Even this morning I am still feeling the effects :o
And the newish hemp filter I put in is beginning to turn a nice golden color :brow:
Can't wait to bring mighty on a 10+ mile hike tomorrow ,enjoy your mighty's everyone :)

Science...Whoo!
Your totally right, after looking at everyonedoesit there's no better deal waiting for me anywhere lol
Yeah it's a good deal and it's awesome VapeWorld matched the it. I ordered it late Friday and they shipped it out early Monday so I had it Wednesday. I did have to call in to get the deal though.

The mighty temperature isn't as easy to drop like the crafty is. At least on full batts its sometimes very hard to reset the auto-shut-off on the mighty due to the higher batterie power. There isn't any special battery power management, at least so far I know but correct me if I'm wrong. The batts are only protected from overcharging, no management. It's just the batts losing power what explains the slight performance drop... Simple as that, nothing spectacular behind:

They lower their American price, but for Europe it's still €348.. What am I missing here...?

You are wrong. The performance drop is obvious and it happens exactly when you lose 2 bars, and then again on bar drops after that skipping one IIRC, so the performance does not go down in a normal curve, it is stepped, so it is absolutely managed.

I think I agree, after noodling your post for a minute.

I actualy like a little reduced performance. I tend to go slow, especially the last part of a full bowl. On a full battery the temps move fast, it buzzes more frequently, and goes off more often.

I never realized that the performance drop is exactly at 4 bars left, or timed in exact intervals related to the battery level. I will keep an eye on this. Is it the same with the crafty?

I can absolutely agree with @shredder!

wtf, that fee is ridiculous. Was going to buy one direct from s&b but now I'm having second thoughts on that!!

Vaporizers.ca 469 +tax/free shipping 529cad (501cad if Alberta)
S&b 399usd+duty=$609cad (25% duty/import as the posted example suggests)

Test it for yourself. Watch how fast it heats up and how well it performs then when it drops 2 bars watch again. You will notice a stark difference. Crafty does the same. The performance steps down so if you had a graph of performance it would look something like this:

Anyone else in here got any experience vaping very small amounts, like 0.03 to 0.1g on Mighty?

Some folks load small, then put the oil pad on top. This keeps the green near the heat source, and localizes the spent herb.

Excuse me if this has already been answered.

I thought the performance drops noticeable faster towards the end of battery life? This isn't shown by this very linear graph you posted. The graph should surely looking more like a concave falling curve. At least if you are refering to the six battery bars of the mighty with the six steps in your curve. I'm quite sure about this (power management or not) because with two bars left on the mighty I only can vape one bowl.

I just charged the mighty completely. I will write down battery levels and heat up time with every bowl I vape and I'll interpolate a "power drop diagram" of my device to have a precise overview...

Edit: you we're right. S&B is claiming to have a battery power management.

This is true so my example is not perfect, I wasn't going to draw my own graph for this, or any other, thread. You will notice the first performance drop after losing 2 bars, then it skips one I believe, then another drop at 2 bars and another at 1. This is the way my first units worked I have NOT tested this on the new ones I received recently from S&B as warranty replacements. There was a blurb somewhere on their website that spoke about battery management but I can't find it now.

Sounds good thanks for doing the science. You should notice a difference in how fast it heats up thats what first made me take notice.

@t-dub I've definitley noticed some type of power management with my mighty, serial number 2xxx, so I agree you're on the right track. It seems after the first 2 bars are gone, my Mighty will shoot up in temperature to a point, but then takes forever to get through the last 10-20 degrees. Sometimes not vibrating to indicate reaching set temperature until about 5 minutes into the session. It seems to hang out 5 degrees or so from the set point. It definitley seems like some active power management rather than a battery power curve.:2c:

I thought this was only a result of the behavior like every 2-point-controller does behave. The mighty has a PID controller, I think. S&B could call that a "battery power management", since the PID controller regulates the power consumption in some way depending on the difference between setted temp (white) and actual temp (Orange). But this has nothing to do with battery level so far. I explained already where the performance drop comes from. It is not from a power management. The controller influences just the way how the temperature is approached to prevent overshootings! I'll ask them to elaborate on this when my crafty goes to warranty, I really don't think there is more behind...
But correct me again if I'm wrong. I would love to know I have a true power management on my mighty!

Edit: not sure if it's really a PID-controller. It has been some years I wasn't in class anymore :D but it behaves exactly like one:

21627767mi.jpg

Like @t-dub said already, newer mighty's will have another controller. Probably a PI-Controller (?) :shrug:which should always overshoot temp settings slightly, causing vibration even on empty batts just like the crafty already does (oh no, more vibration!).

Edit 2: Mine has a serial around 12000 and still has the old 2-way-controller. It could take some month to implement a new controller for s&b. Perhaps they will do this with the new designed fins actually breaking around the bowl and bring out a redesigned version like it was the case with the plenty.

The power is also managed during charge as well, it draws 13 watts for most of the charge then reduces as it approaches full charge and finishes with a trickle charge of 1watt for the finale part of the charge.

Nice post! Have fun on your hike. Its been a really nice spring here lately.

I know that high the next day feeling, amazing, eh?

When you get back, could you explain more about your hemp filter?

Edit just realized I double posted, perhaps a mod could merge?
