The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

I love my Mighty, so hearing about units malfunctioning is upsetting. I hope it’s just a couple of bad apples and not a systemic issue.

Does anybody have a rough estimate of the number of people on this thread having issues?

Does anyone know if Storz- Bickel have acknowledged anything about this?

Just curious.

afaik S&B knows ,and someone even got a mail that they fixed the issue. that was a week ago.

if you want to talk "numbers" just go to other threads, count the pages and posts about bad units...... this will give you an idea I think.

The Mighty has become like family to me
Mike, trying to figure this out is a pointless exercise. S&B gives a warranty for a reason. A certain % of all new products will be defective. We hear more bad because forums act as lightning rods for complaints. Lets not derail yet another thread on this topic. Enjoy your vape . . . :)
Good point, thanks for keeping me calm. Just don't want anything to happen to my new family member:)

damn, you guys make me really miss something, i didn't even tried yet. i'm really excited about it. but for now the ssv has to do it, like always. about the number of malfunctioning units, my retailer told me, that i am the second customer with the mighty doa and they sold a lot. certainly i can't verify that.

I would say they have sold into the thousands of units at this point , and we are hearing of some faults in some units. If it were a big deal we would be hearing tears and bad talk of s and b. I'd say the mighty is doing very well. Idk but the four or maybe 5 huge almost unbelievable hits I just took of a Chemdawg/rockstar Smallish ground nug, looked like bong exhales.

Hello need some advice . Really a question for anyone who has also owned a Silver Surfer Vaporizer.Thinking of purchasing a Mighty as a backup for my desktop the SSV, Just wondered if the Mighty is as efficient as the SSV ? I have heard that the Mighty holds about 0.3 grams of product. Just asking for reference as I just want a good powerful efficient vape with no learning curve that produces bong like hits. Thanks in advance.

What's ur definition of efficient? It will extract every last goodie out of your herb, efficient. But it's constantly baking your herb while it's on and some ppl consider that inefficient.

Don't have the Silver Surfer, but yes to the above, incredibly efficient and no learning curve. You will not be disappointed. All the good things people have written on this thread are true without exaggeration.

Yeah. The term "efficient" in regards to vaporizers can be taken in two ways. One is how well it thoroughly extracts the essentials from the bud. The other is how well it conserves your bud, that is, using less bud to get to where you want to be.

Good point I guess I didn't really clarify my needs that well , my bad. Efficient in the sense that I will not have to use much herb to produce cloudy hits. If I can get 3-4 cloudy hits out of a bowls worth of bud then I think it is efficient. I used to use a bong only so the amount that goes in a bowl is what I feel comfortable with having each short session I have.

Speaking of efficiency, something I enjoy doing with my solo is extracting the condensed oil on the stem with ethanol and a ball or two of cotton, waiting for the ethanol to evaporate and then vaping the oil filled cotton ball, it works surprisingly well.

Has anyone figured out a relatively easy way to collect the oil, gunk etc to later vape? I know the mouthpiece is plastic but s&b mentioned you can use ethanol for under an hour. Does anyone think that repeating this quite a few times a year will damage the mouthpiece? Does plastic like get removed from the mouthpiece with ethanol? Like is some of it dissolved or something? Which would then lead to vaping plastic?

I mention this in relation to efficiency because OK, maybe the mighty does keep cooking the herb when on, as does the solo probably, but like the good stuff doesn't just vanish does it? Doesn't it just condense around the mouthpiece or screen (stem for solo)? If so it's not technically waste as hopefully it can be harvested for use later on, in the form of oil/reclaim :)

The way I see it, and I very well might be wrong so please correct me if I am, is that vaping is more efficient on at least 3 different levels:

1. No (or at least a shit load less, donno chemistry) pyrolysis occurring. That's when the goodness is broken down by heat if I understood correctly.
2. AVB
3. Reclaim from stem/mouthpiece etc. depending on unit.

Asking this cos my friend is getting a mighty and also cos someone here was asking about efficiency.

yeah i just got crafty, mighty, sublimator within like a weeks time lol :o
That's a serious VAS binge! From the looks of your signature, you've got a slight case of the GAS as well.

Do you have shit shipped to your work so your wife doesn't know about any of it (my patented WAS - Wife Avoidance Strategy - technique)?

:peace:

Nah in all fairness i won the crafty, upgraded to the mighty with a 15percent discount and i bought the sublimator 2nd hand from a fc member for about 200 off what it retails at here in Australia.

I have a somewhat serious question, hopefully someone can help. So my friend plans on cleaning his Mighty with ethanol, as apparently it doesn't seem to damage the mouthpiece and then vape the collected oil and reclaim once the ethanol has evaporated, probably using cotton as a medium, it's easy to collect the stuff with cotton.

Is this safe? His/our main concern is that while using ethanol to remove the oily residue some plastic may be dissolved (donno if it's the right word) and end up in the oil after the ethanol has evaporated resulting in him vaping plastic.

I'm not trying to be dramatic or anything, it's just a concern. Especially if he is to do it multiple times per year for a few years. As always I have to say that I unfortunately do not know much about science :science:, so my concerns might be fully based on :shit:  Thanks :)
