Hello,

While i was cleaning my mighty i noticed all these scratches inside the heating chamber (see photo). I have no idea how they came there. I had some before but there were maybe 4-6 scratches. Now there is a ton. I use the filling caps. Not sure how but, they might damage the chamber.

Now i am concerned i have inhaled little tiny metal parts created by the "scratches"
Does anyone else have these scratches and, should i be worried about inhaling some parts?

Have a great day!

Old & In the Way
Buy M Eraser pads that don't have any added soap and rinse one well before first use.
I cut a cube that is slightly oversize and kinda twirl it slowly in the chamber. Yes, upside down is a safer way to go. I've also used them lightly dampened with iso alcohol 99%, though only short periods lest the alcohol break down the eraser. I haven't seen that happen yet.
Try not to scrape/grate on the chamber screen

I often use the Mighty nowadays in a method described to me by the wise FC member biohacker.
It involves putting a tiny amount inside, running the Mighty up full, and preheating the load.
Then you hit it through water in as big a hit as you can, maybe another small hit to finish. And it seems to be really efficient and seems to save things much more.
Plus it appears you get a great type of extraction and some nice reclaim deposits if you're into that.
Although it can be a bit hectic early in the day!!
I use capsules where biohacker used native with pad I think, I drop the capsule in after heatup and wait 40 - 60 seconds for preheat.
I fill the capsule about 1/3 full (0.03?) or less and top with a custom thin pad, and I'll do two of those mostly, as it makes sense while it's all heated up!
It seems to be a little more heavy on the battery overall but well worth it.

As the Mighty CU works excellently, this can also be done at or near full temp without water and I've used my Crafty very discreetly like this where you don't have long to take a quick puff somewhere.

It is unreasonable to imagine finding another portable that can truly and healthily perform a considerably more efficient flower extraction than this!
I should be able to match the experience with a DDave kit for my SSV, but it seems like what I've heard a Flowerpot does. (huge robust clouds from a tiny amount in one hit).

I also fully transitioned to "screenless" CU on the great advice of choochoocharlie, and I was either using fully packed caps or a thin pad inside the cap.
No problems to report at all and it works out real easy to wipe the rim of the CU now and then and keep the capsules free of oil, and it makes my CU cleaning quicker and easier.
I have not made this transition with my Crafty, for now I feel the stock set up will get you out of almost any situation while out and about.
And also I had just bought a pack of screens and they will last a while!
Thanks for daring us to try it out choochoo!

Here also is an interesting story from a fibromyalgia website about the Mighty medic and a collaboration between S&B and the makers of a patented inhaled medical product, i'm sure we will gain at least one useful bit of information from this coming study.
It also suggests to me why I get such effective pain relief from a Mighty sometimes!:

@blackstone , thanks for the mention, but I'm merely an evangelist for keeping capsule lids clean. Readers, please join with me as we strive for a day when capsule lids will be free from the shame of sticky resin condensate. (I first read about the idea here on FC from folks like @shredder)

@Mighty Hero , Yes, the filling tray is wonderful for advance prep, especially when hotel hopping. Worth the money? -- answer depends of your valuation of convenience/time/use pattern.

I think this picture is funny, how close the S&B tray is to the one I spec'ed out with @Ratchett back in the summer of 2016:

tray-compare.jpg

We both thought it was appropriate to print this prototype in official S&B orange. I stole the idea from a video about a bootleg nespresso pod refilling tray. They added the brilliant plunger tool, however.

When I was moving around and using the S&B tray more, I found the tamping part was not needed. Since understanding how a filled to the brim capsule avoids leakage, I don't tamp. I leave each cap filled slightly mounded high, then use plunger device to put lids on.

Excuse my ignorance so basically what you guys are saying is to put a tiny amount of leaf, then cover with the liquid pad and try to take a huge hit at max temp through a bong? :D

Yes that's about it! Here is the original post:
Here's some Mighty love....on MAX temp..... 0.1g with a 60 second conduction heat soak. Taste was okay. I don't do low temps, and ABV goes in the trash...stopped abv utilization about 5 years ago.

Looks like there was a video too but unfortunately it seems unavailable to me now.

I think what he did was to put 0.1 in the bowl, pad on top and turn it on. Then waited a further 60 seconds before inhale.
What I do is heat my Mighty up to full temp, prepare a capsule with anything from 0.03 to 0.1 ish and a custom thin pad to top it inside (as the stock capsule pads are very chunky and leave too little room).
(I believe Firefly 2 pads are the same diameter but thinner, like my custom pads).
Then I drop the capsule in and wait 40-60 seconds before inhale.
You can tune the intensity of the experience by making load size the only variable besides quality of material.

It really is lots of fun with some whopping "class-leading" efficiency, and I recommend everyone to try it, (there are Mighty users here who normally do high-ish temps through water I think) just be careful not to choke if you place too much inside haha.

So I tried with putting some leaf and the liquid pad and wait a minute before inhaling with my bong. It definitely works even though my adapter is a shitty one. For me it's impossible to take all in one hit, if you put more than .06g I don't think you can take it all in one hit! What were the "pros" for you of using this method? More efficiency?

You are right! Before I retired last night I found out that I rarely put any more than 0.03 in there for this, and I thought of what I had posted here  sorry about that!
I don't know how biohacker could handle that amount in one go but he was used to very powerful vaporizers also.

And yes I normally get one ferocious 1st hit, and an OK 2nd hit, depending on what's inside or how long it sits in between.

In normal use I have mostly used 180C and bump to 208C without water.
When things are good and I require, I'll fill a capsule up, when things are not so good I'll top off with a thin pad.
With this full temp method blazing +/- 0.03 loads, I can do two of these capsules, each only about one third full, and get almost the same or a more intense experience than a full cap the other way.
It seems a quicker method than the sipping one.
And as much vapor density and bite as you want! The exhale and taste is some of the most vape fun I've ever had.
It could be thought of as "extreme" or "full spectrum" extraction?
I also think there's a chance that it surpasses many portables in what it can do with 0.03 or less using this method, as I've heard it said about some other devices but I don't think it's this good. And you don't even need water for it so it's great for sneaking off for a quick hit also!

It's currently my most efficient method/vape with tiny amounts.
Great to be able to swap around too though or use this when it suits.
You might revisit it at a later stage and see more benefits then.
And my adapter is probably worse than your's, I need a new one soon.

The only cons I have found is that it appears to cause bags under your eyes if you did it too early! And it could look way more suss if anyone spotted you through a window etc.
Occasional loud coughing and bubbles might also sound a bit obvious.

Enjoy your Mighty, and respect to you for your curiosity and interest in pushing the envelope a little!

I understand! My issue is that at some point the Mighty will stop producing vapor in the bong with the WPA and if I don't use the normal mouthpiece I always waste some of my bowl! Is it the same for you?

thestallion69,
I bought and have owned a Mighty vape now for a couple of months, hoping to upgrade from my arizer solo 2. It feels like a lateral upgrade than moving up, for the pros and cons kind of even themselves out and I feel that they have become more situational vapes for me now.

Pros: Mighty vape has, by far, the best quality vapor I've ever tasted. I thought the Arizer Solo II was some of the best, but the Mighty manages to nudge it out of first place by being so efficient at extraction. I can extract my cannabis within a few minutes, rather than the long sessions that the Solo II requires. I feel that the dosing caps are manditory to reduce the mess and avoid getting gunk in the lower chambers. So far they've done their job and work well with herb-sandwiched concentrates too. It really feels like it is a medical device, like a diabetes BGL reader. The battery life is fine and the device is pretty sturdy. It's survived a couple of drops so far with no damage.

Cons: I'm really freaked out to take the Mighty out of the house, since the thing is so expensive and too big for a regular pocket. I'd rather have an arizer vape jacked off me than the mighty. It has ended up becoming like a desktop vape that takes up less space than a Volcano would have. The Arizer Solo II is the portable vape that I take outside and to social gatherings, and it does its job well at that. Also the thing has regular upkeep and maintenance that must be undertaken regularly, unlike the Arizer Solo II which you just throw your stem in a bag of isopropyl alcohol and rock salt once a month. The 90 second heat up time, though responsible for the high quality vapour, takes a hell of a long time compared to the Solo II. Battery power is also half of an Arizer Solo II as well. The constant button-clicking to keep it on gets tiresome, too.

Overall it feels like a trade off: Better quality vapour exchanged for routine maintenance and a slower heatup time. I would recommend the Mighty to someone who is looking for a medical-grade device, wants a device that gets them really high really fast, or for someone who wants the best of the best. I still like the Arizer Solo II and feel that it is the better of the two for a beginner. There are times that I prefer the Arizer Solo II for it's slow, continuous drawing out vapour over a long period of time. It feels like with the Mighty that the experience is over too fast and you don't get that comfort feeling, if that makes sense?

Probably going to join team Mighty soon too, I also have a Solo but I don't like using it all that much. Mostly because the restricted airflow and harsh vapour if you use anything above 200°C. Size is no issue for me because I would only use it as a home device anyway. Are there any must-have addons besides the dosing capsules to buy with it or is it great out of the box?

You won't be disappointed!! We were just talking here about using the Mighty in some kind of water pipes! If you're into that then get the Delta studios Water Pipe Adaptor! Besides that there is the stand (sadly the Mighty can't stand on its own), but is definitely not a must-have addon. You'll get a perfect grinder for the Mighty as well in the box..

Glad to hear, the WPA and stand might be something I buy later too.

I'd also get a base stand and either a bubbler or a second cooling unit. I tried going above 210 on some of my 200 C ABV and not too much vapour came out. It's very efficient even at the lower temps. I think my range on the Mighty is 185-200 C and 195-205 C on the Arizer II.

This is just to clean the CU less often right? :)

Yes, and what everyone else said! In addition, I've found it very useful if you find yourself in marathon sessions. When the CU starts to build up heat internally, you can simply switch to a fresh (cool) one, and it's like dropping an ice cube in your drink. Instant coolness! Then after another bowl or two, back to the first one...

I don't know why, but it took me a little more than a couple of months to realize the potential of the Mighty, then it just seemed to get better for me year after year or I appreciated it more over time.

Another thing to bear in mind is that the Mighty was like the answer to the Solo 1. The fact that it outshines the Solo2 in some areas having preceded it by 3 years is really something. I'm really looking forward to seeing their answer to the Solo2!
And indeed I would then like to see Arizer's response to that also!

It appears we picked a good time to be into vapes!

Yeah I've heard rumblings that Storz and Bickel are making a new type of Crafty-like portable. It will be interesting to see how it competes against Arizer's stock.
