Do a search in this Threat and you might find some answers for your hash needs.

Yeah I did and as it was like pages of answers I thought maybe it's just easier to ask and see in 4 years of discussion if there was any "final" advice :)

Try both ways but I suggest using the wpa just to avoid any oils falling inside the unit.

I tried the sandwich (mostly hash) and it worked kinda - at high temps I got way more vapour than usual. But the end result was weird. The hash came out almost black and still oily. I wasn't able to fully taste the hash. What do you mean when you say use the wpa?

How do most people here use the Mighty? Dosing capsule or not for dry herb?

A huge dilemma for me has always been how to consume hash properly. Now I have some excellent dry sift very soft and oily hash that I don't know how to consume. Liquid pad? Dosing capsule sandwich with herb I feel like I will never be able to properly taste only the hash.

no dosing caps for me. the consensus seems to be that they're mostly about convenience.

mighty doesn't get as hot as - for example - the vapcap, so vaping hard hash is a challenge. I've had no problems with 'finger hash' (hand scrapings from weed workers) and bubble hash; put it in the bowl with the pad on top. it might produce huge clouds at low temperature or barely produce any, even at high temperatures, but it works - and tastes great!

if the hash is solid, maximize the surface area. some people say slicing it real thin works. maybe heating it up, then crumbling/pressing it into tiny/thin pieces would work, then go right to the top temperature.

I kind of gave up trying to vape hard hash in the mighty, got a vapcap for that.

one thing I've found with the mighty and hash is that you get a huge # of hits - I've gotten ~15 hits from .05g. the appearance of ABV hash isn't a good indicator of doneness; it's done when you can't get a hit, even at the maximum temperature, so just keep going.

Thank you! But wait you really put the hash on the bottom and the liqiud pad over it? Why? I thought the risk is the hash would melt and drop into the chamber or something like that, and I thought that was why people use cotton or hemp fiber.

I've vaped lots of bubble/finger hash this way after reading lots of posts on the subject (like you, I wanted pure hash to get the flavor, not 'sandwiches'). the worst thing that's happened is gummy ABV, slightly stuck to the bowl (probably from not finishing it completely), but it came off easily using the brush and/or a toothpick (don't use metal so you won't scratch the bowl). I haven't disassembled the unit to see what's inside, but I've never seen anything like oil at the bottom of the bowl that would indicate anything went down. I've watched this thread for a long time, haven't heard of anyone having a problem with this method.

as far as oils - on top of the pad - people say (I haven't tried it) that you should only do a little bit at a time to avoid it melting down below the bowl.

based on how you described your hash, I'd soften it up a little with a flame, flatten it paper-thin, then break it into little pieces. just try a little bit at first to see. you might be pleasantly surprised: being able to taste hash, like you can flower, is a real pleasure!

The hash is going to run away from the heat (unless you just completely overloaded like crazy). So I would put a tiny amount of weed or ABV on the bottom, then the hash, then the liquid pad on top. I would use a dosing capsule to keep the mess as contained as possible. And of course you need to vape at the highest temperature.

Personally, I don’t like anything other than herb in the mighty. I prefer a wax pen or somesuch for concentrates. I use the mighty both with and without the dosing capsules, depending on whether I’m going somewhere where I can handle herb easily or not.

On another note, I realize that everyone wants to get the most out of their herb that they can, but I find that if I vape after the “burnt popcorn smell” that I get a very severe headache. YMMV of course, but just wanted to put that out there. I don’t think that I’m losing all that much THC by not vaping to a crisp :D

Dosing caps vs PWB

Last night I felt like cleaning, so out came the used glass pieces, the Mighty dosing caps and the vapcap M.

All survived the PWB without any issue, but some, most of the dosing caps, seem to have reacted to the PWB. Shame it's so difficult to post pics, and that my pc skills are so limited, but basically it looks like SS metal that was left by the sea for too long. The PWB has made the surface go mate, and in some cases whitish.

Upon drying I tried a torch lighter to see if there would be any reaction, but nothing.

I've put them aside for now, hoping that the Sonic Cleaner will do the trick (when and if I get one), but in the meantime I wonder if they're safe to use, or if there's is anything I should be concerned about?

Cheers!

I tried last night and it does work pretty well. But I think if you keep going you get the Mighty pretty dirty in a short time.

I'll try to put a small bed of weed or ABV on the bottom now. Yeah the dosing capsule are very convenient in my opinion too.

Yeah I didn't get any vapour even at 190° with the hash.

Yeah so I understood you meant the water pipe adapter but what you're saying is still putting hash on bottom with liquid pad over and then instead of the mouthpiece the WPA and a bubbler right?

I've never not used the capsules after they came out and I purchased them.

I think the liquid capsules would work well for you if your hash is clean and full melt. I use rosin with the liquid capsules quite a bit, and they work fine. If I vape rosin exclusively, the reclaim in the cooling unit is a golden amber, very clean looking.

If you have a bit of plant material in the hash the sandwich method would probably be best.

I tried a bit different methods to vape this Dry Sift Mango Kush (very oily and soft hash, ice-o-lator ish).

  • Liquid pad on bottom w/ WPA on top: This didn't work out well. The hash kinda melted on the top while I couldn't get a good draw with the WPA on top. PSA: I don't have the greatest WPA for the Mighty.
  • Hash on the bottom chamber with liquid pad on top: This was better. Either with WPA or without. To get decent vapor you need 210° but then the hash just keeps going and in my short trial you can get more pulls out of 0.10g of hash than the equivalent in herb. The second or third time I did this the hash was kinda melting because I put it on top of the liquid pad, then switched to this setup and it messed up a bit the bottom screen.
  • Hash sandwich: Actually I tried some bud on bottom, then the hash, then some bud on top and just the top of the dosing capsule to act as a filter and it worked out pretty well.
If you have any other suggestions I'll try it! I guess the best way so far would be some bud on the bottom, or ABV maybe? I haven't tried that yet. Then a good dose of hash and then cover it with the liquid pad.

I have the same WPA in 18.8, nice easy mod you can do to it is to shove a liquid pad in the rather excessive cavity that forms right above where it meets the mighty bowl.Less chance of material falling if you're going sans capsule and it'll keep heat in the load. Also, with trad. type hashes stirring or re-crumbling the load helps ...well...loads.

Well about a year and a half in and I finally sent my mighty in for rma. I beat the heck out of the thing but even though it was barely held together, it still worked like a charm. I thought I would definitely have to pay towards a new one but they sent me a brand new one free of charge. I'm gonna try and take care of this one better.

Just went to the vape shop and bought a Mighty. It's been sitting there for a few years because I'm pretty sure its the first version without the 20% more battery. I dont care I love it and its awesome. What are some must have accessories for this thing?
Congrats! Get a stand. A bunch are out there. I’m a fan of all things from @Ratchett .

Generally not advisable to buy older lithium ion battery powered equipment that's been sitting on a shelf for years. Lithium ion batteries degrade in their ability to hold a charge. Not only with use, but also with *time* -- particularly time spent in a discharged state. In fact moderately but regularly used lithium ion batteries can be in much better condition than discharged, aging and unused cells. Based on your description, you might reasonably expect to experience capacity at around 1/3rd of a late model enhanced battery mighty.

Good thing it was fully charged???

Old & In the Way
Just to throw it out there, my Mighty is 3+ years old so, definitely not the 'enhanced battery' version. It took a 1 year hiatus; no use at all, in unheated/non-air conditioned space in northeast US. Before that it was in pretty heavy rotation, high heat w/glass, etc.
I've had it back in use for a few months now (native use) and MAYBE getting just one or two capsules less per charge than at 1 year old (but at least 6 or 7). I follow no particular credo for charging -- mainly I don't ever want it running down, so I've usually tended to charge often.
I'm aware that this flies in the face of good battery practice, but it is how Mighty has been for me.

These things are really super wonderful.

p.s.
My Samsung S5 phone is also 3 years old, and I've replaced the battery twice!

My Mighty is definetly an OG unit.I should Google some serial numbers to see where my numbers fit on the Mighty time line.
Vapviking, I get 7 -9 sessions on a charge and like you I start thinking about a recharge well before it completely discharges.
Super really duper spazindicular beast.

I have the older model that isn't 20% battery and I find that after 3+ years of use the quality of the battery life has definitely degraded. That's to be expected though. I still love this unit and will go out and buy a new replacement the day it dies.

If you're worried about battery, I've found the car charger to be very useful.

So I've been using my Mighty for a little under a year now daily. Love it, recommend it...

Just was about to clean the thing, and had the lights up bright, and I look at my Mighty, and a chunk of plastic has broken off!

I've never dropped the thing, or was rough with it, not sure how the hell this chunk came off. I can still twist on the mouth piece, but I'm wondering if I should contact Storz and Bickel about warranty?

What do you guys think, has this happened to anyone else?
