The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

Can anyone recommend if I should buy all the stuff on the side?

this really belongs in the VC thread, but... if you do a lot of cleaning, you should get an O ring set, but otherwise I'd just use it for a while, read the VC thread about how people use it, see if you like it enough to 'accessorize'.

I personally think one of its best features is its small size, which you lose if you go the dynastash route. and if you suffer from VAS, the VC is a real rabbit-hole, what with all the different wood bodies, mouthpiece options, etc. look out!

Does it save the battery if you use the mighty while plugged in? My mighty's battery still runs fine after 1.5yrs of light use, but I use it at home mostly and would like to conserve the battery power if possible.

Some one else said this and i agree.. I think like any other electronic device you charge and i think the key is not "overcharging". Don't go to sleep while charging, charge when needed. Simple as that IMO

Thanks for the info! and ur right it does belong in VC thread but god damn its long~! Ill try to make a proper decision, Im on the their webpage trying to make an order before i go to sleep.. I just want to make sure I get wat i need all at once. Trying not to pay extra shipping

In my experience, you will save a good bit of material with the VC.
Thanks but the micodosing is what is keeping me away from the VC.. While saving me bud would be great.. I have been vaping now for almost 5 months after 20ys of com-busting herb (still combust tobacco).. Mighty is my first vape/ Plenty 2nd.. And I havent smoked any less.. I smoke exactly the same amount whether combustion or not.. So saving money on herb has not come into factor but I just enjoy it more, much more cleaner.. But yea after 5-8 dosing capsules thru a work weekday I end the night with 1 or 2 full packed bowls in my Plenty.. So i doubt a VC with its microdosing is gonna phase me but i do appreciate all info

I have both. my main reason for getting a VC was to vape hard hash; the Mighty doesn't get hot enough to do that very well - and the VC does it great (because it can get close to combustion temperature).

I actually think the Mighty gives better flavor.

the VC is small, but in a way it's less discrete than the Mighty because you have to use a torch.

as has been mentioned, the VC is much more demanding of your attention. if you space out, you can combust or even burn yourself (the cap gets seriously hot). all that playing with torches and technique (e.g. where on the cap to focus the flame, single/double/triple torch, etc.) means you need to focus on what you're doing.

hope this helps!
Your advice helped, I order just M, stash n lighter.. Ill wait on the dynakit, can u give me an idea how long the screens last or how easily they break/bend ?

I have a number of VapCaps including a magnificent piece by @phattpiggie that I absolutely adore.

But in no way does it replace my Mighty, which if it failed I would be ordering a new one in less than a NY second.

A question as asked about temps and good answers were provided. Me personally, I start at 385 F. I like flavor but its secondary to pain relief and sedation and I like nice thick draws of vapor. When it gets down to wispy I hit the power button twice for boost to 410 and usually only get a light draw or two more.

One think I like very much to do is top my load with a liquid pad. Scoop in the herb until full (not tamped, just full), press LP down on top of the load, then vape it. The LP does tamp the load but mainly I like it because I think it adds to the conduction a small bit and ensures that my AVB....including the very top of the load, is nice and even. YMMV

Received an email from s&b this morning

In regards to your defective housing, we can offer you either the replacement of the defective Housing free-of-charge, or, alternatively, a new MIGHTY for the price of 79,00 €.

I assume they are cracking down on warranty for the housing if you have the newer model (mine is about 16 months old). The housing was split due to me dropping it so for 79 euro for a new device with the latest features (boost etc) I am happy to pay. I got a replacement crafty a couple of months ago free for a vibration issue so I feel I've done quite well out of s&b.

Finally took the plunge and just ordered a Mighty :D Soooooo looking forward to it arriving! Just a quick question. If using the capsules for a small amount do you use a concentrate pad as well or just the cap?

You can put a concentrate pad in the bottom of the capsule and you then have a small capsule to fill or you can put a small amount straight into the bowl with a capsule lid upside down on top or put a concentrate pad on top of your load. You can load the mighty just about any way and it will work prefect. It is a very flexible device. Enjoy!

Thanks for the info @ktmstick much obliged :D

I have been reading the thread for a while and knew I had seen something about it but couldn't find it. Will endeavour to keep my noob questions to a minimum and search the thread before asking.

Also curios why the Mighty doesn't have its own 'best of' thread seeing as its so popular but the Crafty does???

You'll get the new features (boost/staggered shut off) even if you just go for the new housing for free. They just won't clean the bowl or replace batteries. it's a great deal, as they give you a new CU for free. And they pay for shipping back to you.

Agreed, for the money I get a new charger, filling aid, cooling unit etc along with the upgraded features. I assume my warranty starts again but would need clarification on that one from S&B.

that is dependent on the user. A full capsule is far too much for me if I want to function. 1g lasts me about a week and I vape 3-4 times a day.

Im gonna do this, my housing is a little cracked, no major issue tho. But I would like a new mighty for 79EUro, my 2 year warranty expires april 2018.

They will offer me this even if the housing is a little cracked? The thing works fine tho.

Yes my housing was split from repeated drops, the 1st one after 4 days from on top of a forklift wheel onto concrete. Bad me!

Half way through my first evenings vaporising with my new Mighty...... OMG!!! :D

I am so glad I purchased this vape. I'm having an awesome time and trying various different set up and temps. The herb I am using in my other vape seemed tasteless, lacking and second rate at best. I can't believe its the same stuff in the Mighty.

This is truly an awesome device :D

It definitely has a wow factor. I bought mine immediately after trying my friends Mighty when it arrived at his house.

My choice at the time was between the Arizer air solo and Mighty, at double the price. Ultimately I wanted that luxury experience.

Does anyone know how much thc is lost in the cooling unit? is it like 10% or higher? Someone called it a reclaim factory, but how big a deal is it?

For many of us, we don't bother with reclaim, we just dump it in iso. To me it's like scraping a pipe for resin, those days are over!

So get specific here....your Mighty fell in a lake and you immediately scooped it out? Your arm went in the water up to your elbow? Or did you dive in head first? Was it on at the time? Inquiring minds want to know...

is this thing on?

I don’t mind the S&B plastic but scraping plastic for revaping doesn’t seem like the best thing to do? Maybe it depends on technique or it‘s generally no problem...

Well, interesting story, I was sitting in a chair by the lakeshore where the water nearby was shallow, up north at a camp site, and the mighty was in my sweatshirt pocket (careless mistake). Suddenly it fell out into water that's 6 inches deep, to the bottom. It was underwater for about 1 second before I grabbed it out, I still remember seeing it laying there underwater, it looked like a watery grave for my dear friend.

One thing that might of helped save it is that I had the mighty inside a thin plastic bag (the one it comes wrapped in when purchased). Now that's not a sealed bag, so this plastic its in is completely open at the top. But that must of helped delay its submerging in water because all the water has to enter from the top of this plastic bag, rather than an instant submerging without it. A fraction of a second of difference probably, that and my quick reaction helped minimize water damage.

It was completely soaked anyhow. The display was temporarily warped, the vibration also temporarily didn't work, and the mighty did a weird grumbling noise for 10 minutes, while off. I held it over a camp fire to dry it off.

But to my amazement, it never stopped functioning, and the vibration and display came back to normal an hour later. That incident was three months after purchase, now I'm nearly at 2 years with a still perfectly functioning mighty.

After my first evening playing with my new Mighty and what can i say... You guys have been spot on, in fact i think perhaps you play it down a little :p

Really glad I stomped up the cash and took the plunge, it is amazing! Lots more experimenting to be done but even the wife loves it!

Just a noob question, is there a different sized concentrate pad for the capsules? Just realised the conc pads don't fit :(
