Still looking for some info on the Mighty's reliability, defects, possible maintenance costs, and customer service experience too if anyone has input.
I'm a bit curious where you're reading all the negative reports. I've been following this thread for a couple years and most of the failures seem to stem from extremely heavy use, dropping, etc. I've had mine for a couple years without any issues (but I'm not a heavy user).
european customer service gets better reviews than US, but nothing serious.
the crafty does have issues, probably due to its single battery.
I haven't tried every vape out there, but from what I have tried and what I read on other threads, you'd be hard-pressed to beat the mighty. when someone comes up with an easy-to-use all-convection vape, that might change. in the meantime, the mighty's pretty close to perfect: total temperature control, cool vapor, exc. flavor, easy to use, near-zero learning curve.
efficiency's only an issue if you're not using it as a 'session vape' (finishing the bowl once you start). ymmv of course, but my experience is that I get about 1 vape per .01g -
100 vapes per gram...
negatives: some people gripe about the heat-up time (~ 2 min.). it's not as stealthy as, say, an oil pen, but you're still talking about a battery vape - no torches, no stink. I live in a legal state (although it's not legal in public), sometimes vape pretty openly - the thing could be an asthma inhaler to the uninitiated (and the people who do know what it is don't care), but it's the size of a flask, no getting around that.
the biggest negative for me is that it just doesn't get hot enough for hard hash (but it's fine with bubble hash) - I got a vapcap for that.
it's ridiculously easy to use, which almost makes it boring. some people prefer a more 'hands-on' vape, like the vapcap, which requires a flame, and can be heated all different ways, but the mighty's so simple you'll barely pay attention to it - until it vibrates.
I do find it odd that something else hasn't come along to knock mighty off its pedestal (they sure are trying); in this era of 'disruptions', you'd think some chinese knock-off would equal it for half the price, but I haven't heard of anything like this. it's hard to imagine that there won't be something either better (all convection) or cheaper (but works just as well) by the time the guarantee would be expired if you bought one now. and if not? you pay your $100 (or whatever it is by then) and buy yourself another couple years of a state-of-the-art vape. S&B did good.
