The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

Sad news everyone, my mighty finally bit the dust last night :( my power button wont work!! After 9 months of almost daily use, I was on my way over to a friends an tried to turn it on; to my surprised (had about half a charge) it wouldn't turn on. I cracked the upper portion on the left side top where the battery is located, I could just slightly open up the mighty from the top (I know it was from a hard fall) & can see a white battery.

It worked flawlessly even with the casing kinda exposed for a long time but until last night, it was perfect. How do I go about issuing an RMA I never sent anything out in the mail before :0

my serial number is all numbers, ive read somewhere on here that there is like about 3 generations of mightys, I think I happened to have a 2nd gen with the reinforced lip everyone had cracking off, though never an issue with me, my lil buddy let me down last night :(

So, are you sure you were 'out of warranty'? As in, over two years from date of original purchase? It does appear to be the case, but your story tends to bolster the explanation I was given by S&B, which was: The warranty period begins on the day they first receive your Crafty/Mighty in for a warranty-qualified repair. It was a long time ago that they told me this, and I thought they had made a mistake, but...here you are with this story. Further, I've never seen an offer to upgrade to MIghty from Crafty for 0 dollars. It cost me $60 to do that 18 months ago!

I believe that in some ways they'd just as soon recall the Crafty's from the wild and make Mighty the ubiquitous product.

I have to say while perhaps not everybody had this luck, my own experience with the German S & B Customer Service was absolutely Great.

They were interested in my Problem, very willing to solve it completely with no cost for me and took the Time to let a Technician chat with me on the Phone.

I have not open the box yet! I'm still thinking about selling this unit on the classifieds because I have already other unit at home that fit my need better than this unit, but that customer service experience make me doubt about my decision!

This understanding is not correct!
The way it was described to me, dating of warranty would always only apply to your original purchase, effective when you sent that back to them (you first time returned was 'beginning of 2016'), so your warranty in any case would expire 2 years from that date. No reset every time. It 'sets' once, that being upon your first warranty claim.

I was surprised to hear of your case because it's the first that seems to confirm the emails I had from S&B.
I believe this policy contradicts other S&B stated policy of warranty being effective 2 years from date of purchase.


Why not email and ask them to clarify your warranty status and term? And what might it be if you 'gifted' this Mighty to a new owner? After first reply I even asked for confirmation, which they offered.

EDIT; I'll add that I was in US, dealing with S&B America (some of the emails seemed routed through German office) and the policies may be different elsewhere.

This understanding is not correct!
The way it was described to me, dating of warranty would always only apply to your original purchase, effective when you sent that back to them (you first time returned was 'beginning of 2016'), so your warranty in any case would expire 2 years from that date. No reset every time. It 'sets' once, that being upon your first warranty claim.

If the plastic-breaking-thing becomes a known fault, it could well be replaced 'under warranty' regardless of age.

Apple had a similar thing with their macbook displays delaminating & they replace the screens out of warranty if the damage occurs.

Bummer! I got that same letter/offer about 9 months ago, (which is when I switched from Crafty to Mighty) Not sure when they started to offer that...

I believe that in some ways they'd just as soon recall the Crafty's from the wild and make Mighty the ubiquitous product.

Me too, it's as if THIS is the real product, designed and working as intended...

On a nice day when things are going right it is truly a magical thing to be on the farm. When it's wet, windy and cold, shit keeps breaking and you are falling out with your dad it's horrible. The case contains everything I need to make both above situations far better.

In all honesty I prefer the mighty more. Smoother, longer lasting enjoyment. The hopper is a handful. It can be brutal if you don't treat it with respect/concentrate. I had a situation today while driving down a track, messing with the on board computer and hit it far too hard - resulting in the usual uncontrollable couging/sweating/head rush. It's also plays around a bit, not always turning on, straight to blue etc but does always work with some fiddling.

The case is just a digital camera case that I found on Amazon for about £5 that looked like it would fit mighty. it's real tight but can fit a whole lot of goodies in. Very protective aswell being nicely squeezed in.

Beats a desk job & dealing with cantankerous people, all day long :lol:

Hey guys, I thought i'd share my method for vaping with the Mighty
(Disclaimer : This method works for me great but may not be for you,
this is just my own personal opinion, this may not work as well on less resinous material)

So for about a year now I have not used a grinder/scissors.
Here's what I do :
First turn the Mighty on,
place the unground whole nug/flower directly into the Mighty (typically 0.2-0.5g, I find more is typically better).
Hit it once at 180-185.
Then turn the unit off, hit it again whilst it's off (this will give you a great hit, save battery and also helps bring the heater temp down for the next step).
Now you've finished your 2nd hit, take the mighty poker tool and poke a few holes in your flower,
use the flat end to stamp it down (If it's still too hot to touch hit it again to bring the temperature down more rapidly, you do not want to get the plastic poker tool near the stainless steel bowl if the temperature is too hot) Stamping and poking with the pointer stick will take a little bit of practice to not accidentally flick herb out of the chamber, because the herb has been dried heavily from our first 2 hits, it should be pretty easy to break apart but this may vary from strain to strain.
When finished turn the mighty back on again, let it heat up. Enjoy.

There's a few reasons I like this method :
- It cuts out the time to grind at the start, so I can get vapor as fast as possible.
- The first hit to me is the very best way to get an understanding of your flowers terpine profile,
it is the very best flavor imaginable.
- After turning the mighty back on the 3rd hit is very thick, this is because we basically pre-dried the flower (a lot of commercial cannabis is improperly dried and doing this really helps get the thickest possible hit from your vape)

Another method i've been looking into experimenting with is putting the nug into the mighty when it's already heated (as opposed to putting it in, turning it on, and waiting for it to heat up)
I'm curious if the difference will be negligible.
Would love to hear other peoples methods.

Mighty £220,

Now most places are £220 for Crafty, £280 for Mighty!

I tend to hit at 180° until vapour production tails off, bump up to 195° and repeat, then up to 210° (evenings only) & repeat.

For the most complete releasing of the good stuff, I've actually found a well-packed Dosing Capsule works best. My grind comes out completely uniform & the darkest of browns, no change to draw resistance. Without the dosing capsule, the top of the chamber always seems lighter than the bottom!

Interesting, I never go above 190 on my mighty personally.
A lot of people i've noticed do bump it up and start at a certain temp then graduate to a higher one throughout the session, but
to me I always find the temp that works best for me and just stick with that.

I definitely do agree you get better vapor initially by grinding, but to me the terps boil off very rapidly with fine grind which is the major trade off. (Asides from the convenience of being able to just pop in a nug and vape immediately, which I personally can get white walls on if I run it through a water pipe)

I would assume stopping & starting vaping across 2-3 sessions would be better with whole nugs, I find if i dont take 3-4 hits with the unit off, the residual hit will cook the herb before the next session.

I will have to try whole nugs again!
