I go where the thrills are
..............................................................
Absent any pre-knowledge of the Mighty, I'd look at it and expect it would firmly stand up. And after finding out it doesn't stand up as expected I'd say to myself, "What the flock were those engineers thinking?? Why in hell would you not enable an easy standing architecture?"
It's not a dealbreaker but I still say WTF were they thinking? Crazy to not build that in as a given/ no-brainer.
I have a different view of this. Maybe it's due to my natural "guy who knocks shit over" tendencies....but if the Mighty stood on its own, I wouldn't stand it up vertically anyway. Given the plastic housing and high center of gravity, it's an accident waiting to happen, at least at my house (hell, I can lay it flat and still have a 50% chance of sending it flying off the coffee table). So I like that S&B removed all risk by not even giving me the option of certain heartbreak.
If it had a weighted base, such that the center of gravity was lowered enough, it would be a different story....but then it'd be a heavier, even-less portable portable.
Just one clumsy guy's .
