I'll have to experiment more with the filling tool. Maybe I'll come to like it over time. It probably does help avoid any loose herb finding its way under the heater.

I'm having a blast with this unit and am proud to join Team Mighty!

The filling tool is great. But The Mighty....she freaking rules. :nod:

Mighty versus Crafty
Do you have both of these vaporizers?
Which do you prefer for walking around your home and yard only .... not interested in use at clubs, parks, camping, etc ... just at your favorite sitting spot at home and moving around the house.

Neither stealth nor odor suppression are of any concern, only ease and comfortableness of use are important to me in this choice.

I already have and love a Mighty, and think I should have a spare ... and am considering a Crafty. Thanks for your input.


Get another Mighty; I will list several reason I think you'll be better off with a Mighty

1.Based on the number of complaints in here the Crafty is less reliable.
2.You don't need a smart phone or computer to adjust the settings on the Mighty.
3.You won't have to worry about charging the Mighty every half hour.
4.The Mighty heats up faster than the Crafty because of the extra battery power.
5.The Mighty charges faster because it has a 12 volt charger; the charger for the Crafty is 5 volts.
6. You won't need spare parts for two different vaporizers.

I don't know if most people realize that the Crafty was an afterthought. Storz & Bickel designed the Mighty, and then decided it might be nice to have a smaller version of the Mighty.

I just use a salt spoon to fill. It's clean and easy, and one less bulky tool to have to store

Yes, Storz and Bickel speaks truth! I'm truly amazed with the uniform dark brown ABV from the Mighty with no stirring needed:rockon:. A little conduction from the sidewalls of the heater along with convection is the perfect combination for full extraction.

The Mighty is certainly not cheap compared to other portables, but, as they say, you get what you pay for. That said, I feel the Mighty is a great value for the overall quality, performance and functionality of the device..

IIRC, someone on this thread asked S & B as to the expected battery life for the mighty. Their response was that you could expect around 700 hours before replacement is needed. I know there have been a couple of isolated incidences where the batteries failed prematurely, but I'm sure the vast majority of Mighty owners are not having those type of issues. Even if the batteries had to be replaced at 500 hours, Based on my useage that would be at least 5 years. That would equate to about be two 8 minute sessions per day. Not bad! I'm not too concerned about it, but only time will tell. Granted, some are heavier users than myself, but even then, most of us rotate between a couple different vapes to lessen the workload....

Edit: @mixchu69, I feel your pain! S & B should step up for free battery replacement(or at least a discount) for obvious premature battery failure which a few Mighty owners have experienced.

I owe the Mighty. After less than 5 months of use; 3-4 sessions per day, less than full load using liquid pad to fill heating chamber, temperature set-point 356 degrees without stepping; the unit began to require charging every day. Should be aware that as the level of charge gets below half the heat up time increases. Returned to Storz & Bickel and was told "anticipated repairs would be free of charge". Well 2 days later received an email requiring a payment of $96.40 for the replacement of the batteries ($40.00 x 2 for batteries, $10.00 labor charge, $6.40 return shipping). When I questioned this because of the 2 year warranty, I was told the batteries are wear and tear items, and not covered by any warranty. That chapped my hide and I had a heated discussion with an employee at the repair facility. Ended by telling them to return the piece of junk. They returned it alright, but not the same unit I sent to them. Returned unit was not mine, it had a different serial number and the heating chamber was extremely dirty and covered with brown burnt resin. I immediately called and emailed them about this and was told the serial number label was changed but the unit was the same. I told them it was not the same machine but they insisted it was. So I used it and found this unit did not recognize the set-point temperature correctly, since the unit would always heat up to 360-364 degrees rather than 356. Called and emailed again, and was told the new units work this way, and mine had received new programming update. What???? So the Mighty does not have precise electronic control or super precise temperature control? Sent unit back and when returned was told unit is functioning perfectly. Unit still heats up above the set-point and now I can barely get through 3 sessions before recharging. So for approximately $400.00 I got a vaporizer that worked well for 3 months, needed new batteries after 4 months (which I refused because of cost), and now needs recharging constantly. If I was a heavy user or used this unit with others, it would require charging after every use. In conclusion, Storz & Bickel might be a great company or they might be like Volkswagen, claiming greatness without providing it. Check out user feedback on various websites and you will see the number of complaints about batteries, temperature control, overheating, and customer service. Oh yeah, and the cleaning videos are a joke, the cooling units require much more than wiping with q-tips and alcohol to clean them. Sorry if I ruffled any feathers here, but the Mighty and Crafty are highly over-rated vaporizers.

Sorry to hear about your experience. If you've read this and the Crafty thread, you'll see you're not alone. But your experience seems somewhat unique with the switched units.

Stick with this site and let us know which vape you think is the Mighty/Crafty killer.

well after a few years since vaping with my Silver Surfer that has since been sold.

I decided to buy a vape again and wanted something portable. After reading reviews and hype for a few days I went with the mighty. Ordered it from the Storz & Bickel America site.

After about one week the black paint on the metal plate on the rear of the unit started wearing off with normal use. I was pretty frustrated with that, since it makes the 95% black vape about 25% silver.

Then about a month after owning it, I saw a small piece of plastic fall off as I removed the cooling unit. It was coming from near the bowl area on the base of the unit. Every day or two another small piece of plastic would fall off from that same area. Almost as if the plastic itself was brittle and/or the wrong type of material to be used in that spot. About 8 pieces ended up breaking off and the latest was last night. Its unusable now since air leaks in from the area that is suppose to be sealed between the bowl and top cooling unit.

So I figured it was time to contact them and sent them an email today asking for replacement.

At this point, I don't think I would recommend this $400 mighty vape to anyone

I wanted to update this. S&B customer service is great. They acknowledged the issue I had and sent me an RMA with prepaid shipping, I'm in Los Angeles, they're in Oakland i think. The turn around time was 5 to 7 days and I got the vape back.

It seems they replaced the entire plastic casing. the new housing where my unit was cracking at seems to be a lower rise in that piece of plastic where the top cooling unit fastens into the base

One thing to note is that the serial number changed, and that metal painted sticker plate on the back still sucks, a week after getting the serviced unit back the metal painted sticker plate is all scratched up again and makes this nice unit it look like a mess.

That would be my main complaint about the Mighty, the LCD screen scratches too easily, as does the sticker your referring to. You can prevent the LCD getting scratched so easily by several ways, one way is to never remove the plastic protective sticker they come on the unit when you buy it. If you already removed the plastic covering find someone that works in a hospital or a friend that uses bioclusive bandages, and ask them to give you one. Trim it to size you need BEFORE you remove the protective backing on the dressing. Now you can place it over the LCD, and backplate. You can see through it, and if it gets grungy you can peel it off and put a new one on.

Unfortunatly yours is waaaaaaay beyond scratched...what did you do try and remove it? @StonerBob What the heck were you doing to that poor thing...it looks like it was in a war.

What do you feel is the main benefit of the stand? I just sit it on its side between hits. I can see that loading would be easier with the stand. I hold the unit between my knees while loading.. Hmm.. I might have to order one of these.. Is it stable, or do you find it can get knocked over easily?
