Wow that's amazing! Why do you think the Mighty pumps out more....the extra battery keeps it holding temp better? I always also thought that the performance was supposed to be the same, but I also recall my Crafty starting to struggle near the end of the battery. The Mighty does heat up faster and doesn't seem as affected in terms of battery degredation/heat up time as compared to the Crafty.

I used my crafty fully charged while my mighty had 3 bars. The mighty clearly had denser vapor. I already knew so just from the first hit earlier in the am when I first received the unit. I exhaled nice amount a vapor. In the crafty, the first hit is def not like the hit you get off the mighty. And throughout the whole session the mighty outperformed the crafty hands down hit for hit. I used both back to back just now to confirm my theory and it actually amazed me even more seeing it first hand for myself. I packed them the same way, and took draws same way and the mighty filled my lungs with more vapor every time.

I personally think its the extra battery mainly which provides more power to the heating unit but also the cu holds more vapor cuz it's bigger. I noticed after each draw, vapor creeps out the mouthpiece a lot more as well on the the mighty than the crafty. My crafty holds its heat really well so I can't say. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but I can tell you with my experience, the mighty outperforms the crafty by about 30%.

Trust me, I was really curious to see how they compared but I knew when I first used the mighty without doing a side by side test that the mighty produced more vapor because Ive been using my crafty nonstop for 2 weeks. This test I just did after finally getting home confirmed that. I have no reason to say otherwise but the truth and I tested them both as acurate as I could. I did identical everything for both units besides the battery levels and that says even more actually knowing the crafty was fully charged while the mighty was almost half charged.

I will def do a side by side session test next time instead of a chain session test with the mighty and crafty back to back.

@Marky , did you use a clean CU on the crafty? Also make sure the sieves aren't clogged...

I can confirm the crafty's single battery has problems with holding temps but I can produce similar clouds with both devices when the crafty has at least half of the battery level left.

Anyone notice a difference between older cooling units and those received recently?

When my Mighty came back from service a few weeks ago, I noticed something different about the cooling unit it came with compared to my others (original and a couple from wear and tear kits). Nothing visually different, but if you cover the screen with your thumb and try to draw through the older cooling units, it is airtight.

With the new one, I noticed it still allowed air in. Very little, but it wasn't airtight. I assumed a manufacturing problem, or maybe oring and set it aside. A few days later a standalone Crafty cooling unit arrived that I had ordered. It exhibited the same behavior.

I tried to get them airtight by taking them apart, ensuring o rings were good, etc. but no dice. It appears that a very small amount of air is getting in somewhere around the locking mechanism (hologram). I put both aside and thought I'd test them once all my others were dirty.

Used them the last couple days and now I wonder if this wasn't an intentional design change. It makes the airflow even less restricted when using it with the base and doesn't seem to change the volume or quality of clouds it produces. I think it might cause an issue connected to a large water piece though.. may not be able to get a good enough seal to milk a bigger piece maybe?

Anyway, anyone else notice this with newer cooling units?

After using the Mighty all day long (15 hours) I gotta say it's hands down the best vape I have used and I've used many trust me. It's beautiful in every way and the vapor production is def better than the crafty. In fact, I'm using the crafty as I type this post after just turning off my mighty to compare the sessions and the crafty is getting about 60%-70% the vapor density than I got from the mighty. Many people on here have said that both units work the same but I have to disagree, at least in my experience. The mighty clearly produces more vapor with the same draw amount. 2 other people used it and said the same. I'm very happy I got the mighty. The crafty will come in handy when I need the stealth and portability. It's still a great unit and the effect from it is better than any vaporizer I have used to date. The mighty is just even better.

Supposedly the mighty has a higher wattage heater than the crafty, that could account for some of it too...with my older models though, I was strangely getting the opposite....more vapor in the crafty, but battery life doesn't allow me to use it as heavy

I saw someone put their Pax in the washing machine:doh: ( I don't think thats a cleaning method I've seen for a vape, but thanks for pioneering).
In my defense...I was high as shit. Not intentional lmao

Sorry if someone has already mentioned this. If you own a Mighty you should consider getting a case from vapecase.com. They also have Crafty cases. Absolutely the most expensive case out there. But I pulled the trigger on one and I am very happy about it. Super durable and you can fit everything in it. Check them out.

Like the looks of it...it just looks like a super huge case! How practical is it to carry around day to day?

Not a pocket case. Fits well in my backpack. Day to day? I don't know. The fact that there is a place for everything including the charger was the selling point for me. If I'm just headed out for a while I don't always need everything. Just the Mighty and maybe a packed Filling Aid. I find this best for road trips or going to a buddies. Where you might need the charger or grinder or whatever. I have #724 have had nothing break or any issues at all. I am very OCD about my vape shit. When I'm done vaping I put it in the case just so there is less of a chance of knocking it off the table or something. It seems to be totally smell proof to me. I did a lot of research on other cases before I bought it. I think it's the best out there. I hope it is, it's kind of pricey...

My crafty cu was just cleaned with only 2 sessions on it and my mighty cu was brand new with 9 sessions on it. I just did another test and noticed the mighty has more draw restriction. I even emptied both bowls when I was done and closed the cu and found the mighty still had more draw restriction. The crafty is totally free flow while the mighty requires more pulling force. I took both cu's off and they were both the same in draw but I only noticed the draw difference when the cu's were connected to the devices. That could be why I get denser clouds. But even after this 2nd test, the mighty had denser clouds hit for hit with both units fully charged. To prove it even further, I took a draw for 3 seconds on the mighty and a draw of 6 seconds on the crafty and I exhaled more on the mighty than I did on the crafty. I can't give an accurate percentage but I can guess around 30% more vapor, more or less.

Btw, I have a new cu for my crafty which I will soon use then I will cut the older one to make a "muzzmod". I'm not really a bong person (I do own a hvy showerhead perc 9mm glass bong) but I do use it and I'd love to see how the mighty works alongside it. It may be the start to something new lol.

hey man, check out my bubbler rig photo a few posts back.
once you get your muzzmod and you are mainlining it straight into your bong you will be hooked on the huge cool clouds you can pull from it.
my glass fever has turned into a minor obsession, its like a symbiosis between glass and vape, each performing in unison, im just using two bubblers in series at the moment but i have been known to go up to four when im feeling creative.

any how the point im trying to make is embrace the glass it really does give another awesome dimension to the mighty

Wow, the issue with my mighty working better is the cu on the crafty. Looks like SB has a quality control issue with the cu's for both mighty and crafty units. My crafty still has the same cu it came with. I put my thumb on the screen to block to airpath and took a draw and air was still coming through. I tried the same with my mighty cu and it was completely air tight. Luckily I have a crafty wear and tear kit so I tried the same thing on the new cu unit for the crafty and that one is air tight as well!

I just changed the cu and packed the crafty and I can now say that it performs like the mighty!! I'm getting the same amount of vapor and even the draw is restricted a bit just like the mighty. Seems like my original cu was leaking air and I was getting diluted vapor in each draw. I'm so happy I figured this out! Thanks to a member on the crafty forum that posted about his mighty cu leaking air which led me to investigate on mine. :)

I think that's why the o rings on the older and newer units are different colors...
can you see if you put the o rings from the air-tight cooling unit on the one that's leaking air and see if it makes a difference, might be a simple fix to a common issue?

I can try it tomorrow morning cuz I'm at work for the night. But I did notice the o rings were a light blue color on the new cu and the original cu that came with my crafty were a darker navy blue color.

I see here the "leaky" CU can impact performance. In my case it didn't seem too but I could see how it could if the leak was big enough.

I have a repaired crafty arriving in a couple days, will post back regarding its CU.

Oh it def can. In my case, it was the reason my mighty performed so well over my crafty. When I had the screen hole covered there was only a slight bit more resistance but I honestly was still able to pull air thru quite easily but it also made a loud hissing noise during the draw. My arizer air has more restriction tho. I'm guessing it's the o ring since it can't be anything else. I will try swapping it after work to see if it fixes the leak. But I can def see why my crafty didn't produce much vapor. It had air coming in through the leak as well as vapor being pulled in through the screen which mixed together and gave me diluted vapor. I also noticed how free flow the draws were since day 1 of having it and was amazed. Once I received my mighty however the draw wasn't so free flow and wondered if something was wrong. The vapor was thicker and I did believe it was due to the resistance being higher on the mighty. Had it not been for that post I would have never tried blocking the screen hole and would still be scratching my head as to why my mighty performs better.

I just used my crafty during my break 30min ago at work and I got great clouds just like my mighty. It's consistent now with thick clouds. I like my crafty so much more today than I did yesterday lol. I should have known something was wrong but instead I felt the mighty was just that much better. I'm glad it was a quick fix and now they are both producing the same vapor.

Btw, I just ordered 3 18mm to 14mm glass adapters for the muzzmod. I got a steal at $15.49 for all 3. I will wait until I swap cu's once they get old to cut them. Instead of using a torch to smooth them out I have diamond filers which I will use to file them down instead. I don't want to risk cracking my adapters with the torch. I want to try it with my bong to see what the hype is lol. I will make 2 extras just to have laying around.

I'm sure it would have been only a matter of time until you would have used the mighty's CU on the crafty! ;)

First time I had this whistling sound after I sliced the o-ring with the hologram. Same effect, better air draw but whispy vapor with the unwanted carb hole...
Then it was a deformed mouth piece. Light air leakage when pushed upwards.
Now it's a broken housing. No quick fix. The left part of the housing containing one of the batteries is completely detached from the top part. I can bend it away.

But I'm so much in love with the mighty, I can't see me sending it in to warranty even with the other (backup-) vaporizers I have...

elmomuzz

That just happened...
I get asked all the time to make muzzmods. Several things keep me from doing it. Firstly S&B have actually sued folks for making and marketing an accessory for the volcano. And the cost is also a deterrent. How much is my time worth? Honestly it's worth quite a bit so I'd have to charge $40-$50 for the muzzmod. That's just to much so I always encourage folks to make their own. It doesn't require any super skill just the proper motivation. Maybe I should not have included the torching the glass part in my how to. I think that might scare people but I wanted to show all possible steps that could be required.

In a perfect world S&B will see our efforts and manufacture a proper muzzmod. I think they might be worried about users blowing water into their devices.

Checked all 3 of my CU's....no leaks...darker blue o-rings..

I hate that tiny o-ring in the CU....it seems to always eventually break down and deteriorate. Never have that issue with the bigger one.

Or using it upside down? I notice wisps of vapour coming out the bottom when I invert the Mighty at higher temps. That must soil the air intake path with resin, which is impossible to clean. This is the biggest downfall of the Mighty IMHO....the inability to get that airpath clean.
