MFLB vapor can be kind of harsh/strange feeling on the old teeth.

I've been really pissed lately with all my batteries but the stock ones - they all seem to deliver inferior hits and last for crap. This includes sony cyclenergies, duracell lsds and some cheapo R2u brand. None are 4/5 as good as the stocks.

Try conditioning them Charlie. And in the future think about buying Sanyo's or Maha's. They seem to work great for me and plenty others.

Do not get a rapid charger. Get a smart charger that conditions batteries. Good selection, prices and customer service at www.thomasdistributing.com. They are also a good source for batteries.

Also picked up some sanyo eneloops and I was wondering how to use these best. Am I supposed to keep the same battery in until it stops that light from illuminating? Seems like it never stops lighting so I end up throwing it in the recharger after 7-8 hits. Am I destroying these batteries?

Slow down big fellah! You don't need to recharge that soon. A good battery will last you two or three times that, maybe even more depending on how you hit.

My technique so far has been to insert the battery, wait about 4 to 5 seconds then start a slow inhale. I keep that up for about 5 to 8 seconds and then remove the battery. Doing that seems to get me a pretty large hit each time. Sometimes a little too big if I go a little longer. I also seem to have a pretty visible exhale most times. Got any tips?

Sounds like your technique is fine. If anything, wait only 2-4 seconds before inhaling. depending on how charged/strong your batteries are.

Not as far as your technique is concerned, you should be fine.

For the battery, I suggest you insert a newly charged battery and look at the light. It should be at its brightest. After two or three hits, check it again. It will probably be just slightly dimmer. It should stay at this slightly diminished level for quite a few more hits, maybe 15 or more, then you will notice the light gradually getting dimmer. It's almost done. I usually keep using it until I no longer get a satisfying hit from it, but you can charge as soon as it starts to dim if you prefer.

You can see the reason for this if you look at the discharge curve for NiMH batteries: it drops a bit initially, then stays at around the same level until it is nearly done. The drop at the end is fairly quick.

I'm starting to enjoy long hits from weak batteries..... tasty. Hitting aggressively with fresh batteries often kills the taste too soon.

This is incorrect. Full discharge is BAD for NiMH batteries as it can cause polarity reversal in the battery cells. You're never going to get full discharge while using the MFLB since it will stop vaping well before the battery is dead. You'd have to intentionally short it or drain it in some fashion.

Leaving the batteries trickle charging for an extended period(over 3 days) is also bad for the cells. However, NiMH batteries also self-discharge faster than other types of batteries and will begin to lose their charge(Still, slowly) over time when sitting idle.

The best practice for these types of batteries is to allow a charger(not a quickcharge!) to charge then trickle charge them and use them within 2 days of fully charging.

Always do your own homework everyone.

According to my reading, full discharge of NiMH batteries does no harm unless the battery is connected in series with a battery that hasn't full discharged. In fact smart chargers sometimes fully discharge a battery before charging.

You are describing HSD batteries, but LSD batteries (sold pre-charged, and the type Magic-Flight supplies) will still retain most of their charge for months. HSD batteries lose most of their charge within a few days.

You're correct that it's not a good idea to leave any batteries in your charger for extended periods.

I am going to purchase the majic box without the charger because i want a smart charger that does not take 8 hrs to charge and holds 4 batteries.
So with all the launch box users with lots of experience with this, can someone tell me the model and number for the type of charger thats best for this.

dsal.....I believe the consensus is the Maha c9000 is the best smart charger out there. It is what I and quite a few others from this board use. It works flawlessly. It is a bit on the expensive side (about $60 shipped with 4 Powerex 2700 batteries). Well worth it imo.

i dont reccomend keif in the box, i just vaped a bit & it instantly turned to resin & stained the screen, i got most of it off by heating it for a long time, but its left a noticable black stain where it all melted, which im sure blocked it a little bit aswell, i should add it was a LOT of keif in there, i reckon just a little bang in the middle of the screen may be okay

Twist a small square (4"x4"ish) of a paper dinner napkin and run it through. I make it into a long cone-like shape and pull it though the stem. It drags all the resin out perfectly.

Update:
I've had my LB for about 9 months. Actually the 2nd one since my first one suddenly appeared with a broken cover without my having any clue how that happened. But they kindly replaced it.

I LOVE my LB for portable use! I also have a Vapor Genie but I only use the VG for hash or if I want to combust. The VG is cool and it is great for hash, but the LB is both smaller and better overall, imho.

I also have often experienced something I cannot explain:
I get higher on an LB hit than with a similar sized hit on another vape. I have experienced this often enough to know it's not just my imagination. Has anyone else experienced this? The LB is an excellent unit and it's fun to show it to people for the first time and watch their amazement at how great this little unit works and how cool the design is.

And as for batteries, I've tried about 6 different types and there is only ONE brand of rechargeables that I will buy now: Sanyo Eneloops. They are far superior to any other brand imho, and the only ones I will buy. You can get them for a good price on ebay, or you could as of a few months ago anyway. I think I got mine from adorama if I remember the name correctly. Good batteries make a huge difference. In the first couple of months of use I always thought my LB was too cool (as in not hot enough). But then I realized that it was just the batteries running down too quickly. With the Eneloops I get hit after hit of the perfect temperature.

Maybe what is getting you higher is the short travel path of the vapor. In any piece vapor(smoke too maybe?) will condense along the sides of the inside of the piece.

Definitely! The LB hits hard!!!! Sometimes, two or three hits is good enough to get the job done, making it even more efficient.

I have also experienced this. I enjoy the fact that the LB helps my physical symptoms better than any vaporizer I have used before. And, it does so using less herb too.

Hello, I'm currently considering buying a MFLB. Do the new models come in a metal case or a velvet bag?
Also, i have been thinking about buying it from vaporizers.ca but when I asked them about the light that indicates that the battery has made contact they replied that it usually disconnects but that it does not affect the vaporizing process. How does your warranty covers this issue? Do you cover it at all?

I got mine from vaporizers.ca and i was pleased with the service. It came in the metal tin and has a velvet bag inside the tin. My light works for the most part but its not really important, it works the same without the light. You don't need it to know how things are working once you've had some experience with it. I dont think the warranty covers just the light not working.
