My experience with the beta version has been a rapid resin build-up on the floor and walls of the interior.
This was the other concern that I expressed to them. With that screen there's a lot more temptation to poke things in there and I'm worried about damaging the tray.
I have what I think is this unit as well. It came as part of a confidential Beta Test package I didn't have much luck with personally, although the system seemed sound enough.
That said, I think Pak has once again gone to the heart of the matter. Fouling will, I think, be an issue with some. We have guys putting grams per week through Ceras and Hercules carts, this little guy isn't up to that I think. As the small screen fouls up, there's no obvious way to clean it. For occasional use with high quality concentrates it might be fine, but a few dabs of nasty extracts could make a mess that defies clean up.
Time will tell, but if this is what I think some guys may have their units in for service a LOT? Some guys treat their gear better than others, some just demand more.
Edit: I just got the official notice from MF on this, before folks get too wound up it says on the front page "allowing you to vaporize
liquid concentrates quicker and easier than before" (emphasis mine). This does not seem promising to those intent on kief, bubble, full melts and the like and may even indicate that shatters are a problem?
It seems that the fancy 'steam punk' version is the real deal, wood dyed black (which should help hide the deposits). The lens, it seems, is a real (glass) lens, it magnifies?
Release December 25.
