It's got a learning curve and requires preparation that's specific to it as a vape:
- You need to learn the right inhalation speed
- Your herb should very dry
- Your herb should be very finely ground; salt-like consistency is a good goal. A coffee grinder or the Magic-Flight Finishing Grinder will get you there
- You need to learn when to shake the herb around between hits, because all the heat comes from the bottom
- It's works better with smaller loads; "less is more" isn't intuitive
If you don't get all of those down, you can run into all sorts of trouble like uneven heating (leading to poor taste), sub-par vapor production, a smelly launch box (from using a lot of herb that's too moist), or even combustion (from drawing too slow or not shaking often enough).
It probably sounds like a lot of work when you read it here, but IMO it's not that hard and the rewards are great. When you treat it right, you've got an unbelievably small vape that has a very personal & earthy feel, comes from a wonderful company with unbelievable customer service, and is relatively affordable. If you can't tell, I'm in the "love it" camp.
