Hey Peeps. so I was looking back a few pages to see if there was anything on the PA v2. here's how I heard about it: I have the v1. its annoying. its the way they designed the switch. so i tried to repair it and give more connection area to the switch. nice (attempted) use of a lock washer there MF. lol. anyway... still no love. so I ended up taking the switch out all together. Now you just let the foam ring in the MFLB push the "battery" out. much better current flow now that its wired direct!

So I emailed MF about it. Just a nice email saying nice try but here are some flaws. Oh and by the way I fixed it this way. They emailed back saying Hey thanks! We want to send you a beta unit of our new PA, what's your address.

So it's still in the mail but I was wondering what it was all about.

Hand turned made with love items take time and the expected demand even on this site means large numbers which obviously requires time. Patience is a virtue, Vaping makes time go by in the mean time :)

You can break/grind up the moist bud into smaller pieces to expedite the drying process .
You need very dry small fine grinds , for optimal usage on the mflb .
I still use my fingers and thumb for final grinding .

Okay so if im getting this right I want to first take some bud out of my mason jar break it up, then let it sit out and dry for how long (aprox hour-day?) before its ready for the finishing grinder, then vaped? ty

It should be totally air dried to the point that if you put it in your grinder your grinder isn't getting stuck and if you try to break off a chunk of bud it sort of snaps off. I agree with poonman on the finger thumb final grind... if you skip this step you lose out on a lot of your trench. After you grind your herb take the ground product between your fore finger and thumb and grind it up a bit more. If it is dry enough it will easily break up with this method.

Hey just a heads up... your buds might mold if you leave them in a mason jar and they're wet. Most like to leave them out to air dry until the stems *snap* when bent and then throw them in the mason jars to be cured.

I've been using Powerex 2700 NiMHs for about 3 weeks now and while they still provide excellent power, they are slighly expanding and they fit much tighter now. I vape around 20 trenches a day and 4 batteries have a hard time keeping up. I finally ordered new batteries from Amazon but went with a 2500 NiMH strength. link --> http://is.gd/pAtDGl <--
$16.00 for 4 AA's / I hope they work as well or better than the Powerex.

Mmmm snack time after a trench:lol:
Sometimes when I'm too lazy to cook, I just dump a gram of ABV in my mouth and then chugg a soda, or warm sweet coffee. MMmmmm..

Space is the Place
I dump in palm and eat leftovers when I'm out and about.
I do this even when I'm just sitting around vaping with my Box , I just set the avb in the middle of my tongue and wash it down with what ever ( but the toasted taste & coffee is a treat ) . I only really do this with the Magic Flight for some reason .

But I seem to have more ritual when using the Box , picking buds to use in the FG laying out the batteries , brush , herb and finishing grinder on the table to eating the AVB to packing it up in the tin . For some reason the Magic Flight brings out the OCD in me like nothing else . But I do love this little thing .

Why mess around with all those batteries when the MFLB "LOGO" batteries will beat 'em hands down ?

got my vape on a few different ways, two strains of flower (Master Lavender and Purple Maui) as well as some kief that I had to hit in the unscreened CT because it melted way too much to be vaped as normal, and a couple little hash pellets on there as well :brow: thanks a bunch, Magic Flight, for making tonight more enjoyable

Appreciate that man, taking everything into account. With the mason jar im currently opening it for around 30-40 minutes a day to let any excess moisture out, will do this for around two weeks, how does this sound?

Vitolo suggests an interesting (and IMO useful) measure of dryness is when the herb cuts rather than tears in the grinder. Since he's clued me into looking for that, there's a clear difference in feel and effect grinding....at least in the bud I deal with and my grinder.

Some guys also use the freezer to help cure. They put the jar in (closed) and let the moisture condense and freeze on the glass. Then quickly dump the herb out, warm the glass a bit and wipe all the condensate off before putting the bud back in and letting the lot warm up again dumping more moisture back out into the air in the jar (which is very dry from the 'freeze drying'). This is repeated until the jar no longer 'clouds up' I think? IIRC BDV was a big fan of this....in addition to being a great dancer of course. I miss him sometimes.

I would like to share a new-ish way of hitting the box that I figured out last night. Essentially, I just "chillumed" the box by putting the draw hole between my middle and ring fingers and creating an air tight chamber with the rest of my hand... then inhaled through my thumb/ pointer finger. That was difficult to explain, apologies

I think you are talking about the old original batteries, they have new ones now (with the magic-flight glyph on them), which are generally reviewed as being better than the Powerex 2700mAh.

because the at the MFLB FAQ's recommend the powerex batts for heavy users.

I can't speak for Magic-Flight's FAQ, but the Vaporpedia entry is out of date and I never seem to get around to fixing it.

The Powerex 2700s are HSD batteries, meaning that they lose their charge over a few days when not in use. They deliver more power to the screen than LSD batteries such as the Eneloops you ordered. Heavy users won't care about the discharge rate because they'll be recharging daily anyway. LSD batteries hold their charge for months when not in use, so they are recommended for light users. Perhaps "frequent" and "infrequent" are better descriptions here than "heavy" and "light".

The Magic-Flight batteries are custom-made for the LB, and deliver even more power to the screen than Powerex 2700s, while holding their charge longer like the Eneloops. I don't know how much longer, but I've got some that have been sitting for over a month and it will be well over two months before I can test them. It will be interesting to see how well they've held their charge. In my limited testing when I first got them, they seemed to be somewhere in between HSD and LSD batteries.

That's yesterday's news. And the 2700s were only an advantage in some conditions, the charge degrades much faster that the 2400s so that a few days after charging they're no longer best. Or MF would have used them for factory batteries.......

The new batteries have only been public a few months, are they even mentioned on the FAQ?

Anyway, the custom batteries with the Logo are fundamentally better. The not only hold their charges better than the 2700 but will beat 'em off the line every time. The will supply more raw power, minute by minute, something power users value above all else?

Well after returning the MFLB to my Daily Driver with the new batteries after a year of chasing my needs in a vape I believe it finally fits my bill. This new box seems to run much hotter even with stock batteries (the 2400 oldies). The long slow draw method seems to work really well for me since I'm almost exclusively natively hitting the box (until I grab a purple heartwood stem ;) ) stupid amounts of vapor are being produced, while I try my damnedest to hold it in as long as I can it seems I still blow some visible vapor. At any rate in impressed medicated and happy. Thank you magic flight team!

So I've been kinda babying the box with these new batteries and not drawing for longer than say 7 seconds. Can I still take those nice 20 second draws like I used to with the old batteries?
