Sounds definitely like a leaking battery. Very odd a brand new battery would do that. The only ones I have seen were very old NiCad or 1st generation NiMh batteries from the early 2000s. I would never use them once they developed the white power residue. Hopefully this is an isolated issue and not a bad batch of these new batteries which until now were regarded very highly.

As far as the charger I would suspect it is shorting out to cause the popping. Hopefully it is not like the early revision v32 LaCrosse chargers that were infamous for getting stuck in a loop where the mains would send full current and cause the charger and batteries to melt or worse in well documented threads over at Candlepowerforum. I personally have had a LaCrosse BC900 exhibit the same problem where the display was frozen but the charger was running away at full bore and achieving meltdown once I smelled an electrical smell and the batteries wrappers were shrivelled up. Good thing I was there or else the house could have burned down. Hope this also is an isolated issue as nothing worse than a charger needing to be supervised and a half baked user not sure if what is happening is real or hallucination. Bad combination and gladly this has not been an issue prior to this as far as I know.

Hey all, I've read a lot of this thread, but not all. So forgive me if this has been mentioned, but I thought it was interesting.

Many brands of guitar pickups come in a 2 piece clear plastic case with foam inserts. The LB fits in the foam insert perfectly with no alterations, and it becomes a great case for the LB.

Here is a guitar pickup in the case:

Here is a LB in the foam in the bottom of the case (with a little creative photocopying for the logo in the top half ;)):
PICT1239.jpg

Probably only useful info for those of us who play guitar, but it makes a great case. I usually have something mundane instead of the Magic Flight logo in the lid, so it also can help with stealthiness. There is a second foam insert that I place in the top half of the case with double stick tape (it is behind the photocopy in the above photo). The second piece of foam ends up above the LB when you put them together, so the LB only touches foam on its plexi face, and everything is nice and secure.

Thought I would share. It works great to give the LB a safer ride if it is being tossed in the glove box or a duffle bag.

Weird thing is I actually play guitar and have a ton of those boxes. Never thought of that for a case so good thinking. Still too large of a case for pocket carry for me but might be cool if you were in a cooler climate than I am in (FL) for jacket carry.

ps. Can't read the label because of the flash, but is that a box for a TB-15 Alternate 8 trembucker by chance? When I came to the thread I did a double take seeing the pickup in the picture. For a minute I thought I was on the Seymour Duncan forum haha.

Yeah, I agree, it's a bit big for pocket use.

I don't remember which one I took a pic of (I can't tell with the flash either) but it's either a TB-4 or a TB-6 (JB or a Duncan Distortion) those are the two types I've bought. Would love to try the Alt 8 though...

I have all 3 and my favorite is still the TB-6 Duncan Distortion.

About to have wisdom tooth surgery and I want to get the following in walnut.

Water Pipe adapter
Power adapter (with car charger)
The finishing grinder

I need these to ship asap do you think the MFLB store is the way to go with their 2 day shipping for $17? I looked at planet vape puff it up and vape world and didn't find these in walnut.

I ordered...now if only I can get someone to trade me their walnut MFLB for my stock one.

My screen came away from the box. I tried to fill out the warranty form. This happened before. Last time I took pictures with my phone. this time the warranty form would not accept the picture. I took some with my camera and got the same notification :image failed! The damn form won't accept my pictures and I am completely frustrated!

howdy vapor friends, hoping all is well with everyone ;) after using the MFLB almost exclusively for about a month now, the only issue i have encountered with this sweet little portable vaporizers is that the pivoting clear acrylic cover has gotten pretty scratched in a swirly circle pattern from where it swivels over the trench :uhoh: an aesthetic issue only, as it still works beautifully

side note, for whatever reason one of the batteries runs a little hotter [brighter glow] while vaping but the batteries & charger are still working a-ok after more than a month using it many times a day

You can use toothpaste to take the scratches away on the lid

For those of you that have the concentrate trays, who pre-loads their trays? I will pre-load three trays, and keep a rotation going. Once I use a tray, I clean it and re-load. Then load the next tray. It helps me to always have medicine ready to go.

Vicki, what kinds of concentrates are you loading in your trays?

Not for nothing I left my rechargeable battery charger at my apartment. Just got all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled (turns out they were all impacted ouch!) . The Doctors gave me some stuff, but I can control the pain with mainly vaping (the pills do help a bit though). I told the doctor I vaped and he was totally fine with it. He said it shouldn't interfere with anything else I would be taking and it would do me no harm at all. He also said he appreciated me being forth right with him. I told him I cared about my body which is why I vape not smoke and he nodded his head in approval (I have a feeling this guy vapes too his eyes lit up when I said I vaporize.)

All my rechargeable batteries died last night trying to ease the pain before surgery. Im kind afraid to fall asleep because I dont want to wake up in pain. I wish the MFLB took normal batteries instead of the "rechargeable" It would certainly be alot more convenient. (Got the PA, FG, and WPA on here saturday)

I am on some medication right now so I'm not really thinking clearly I did a few searches, but couldn't find any answers I have the stock MFLB batteries and chargers. However I know they are the older ones. I heard through the grapevine if you call them you can swap out your old charger and old batteries for the new ones. Can someone tell me if this is true?

I learned this trick back in the day when I owned a couple of sailplanes. We used toothpaste to clean up the Perspex canopies. All toothpaste contains fine abrasives so the brand doesn't matter. It's great for cleaning and getting rid of light scratches. It won't remove deep scratches completely, but it will make them less obvious. The retaining clip never left a scratch on my original LB but there is one on my koa Box. The toothpaste trick has made it hard to see but I can't eliminate it.

To do this, apply a thin layer of toothpaste and rub hard in small circles with a soft cloth. I dampen mine slightly, although I don't think that's necessary. The danger is that you could apply too much pressure on the cover when it's open and break it. Whenever I'm cleaning my cover I always make sure there is support under it.

Fun Fact: It will also remove that old/clouded/oxidized look of your cars headlights with a solid buffing tool, or some elbow grease heh.
