It is no secret that I never liked the change from acrylic stems to glass stems.
Some said it was because glass is classier.. but the box itself is covered with an acrylic lid!
I still order and use the Acrylic stems...
Why I prefer the original Acrylic Stems over Magic Flights new Glass stems.
1-The Acrylic Stems stayed cool. In the Arizona sun (107〬) when I do a session, it burns my lips!
2-The Acrylic stems, when dirty got an even amber color inside the tube, which is easily cleaned with qtip and alcohol, as long as you don't soak in alcohol and always rinse with water!
The glass stems do not turn that even amber.. the oils stay more colorless, but they also "glob up" in the tube... sort of speckling the inner tube with tiny beads of oil.. that when built up look foggy and dirty.
3-The acrylic stem always feels smooth to the touch and to the lip.. and visually the place that your lips have been is smooth.
The Glass stems take a "lip print" that is 3 dimensional. It can be visually seen as a "dried spittle.. and can be felt with the fingertips, and certainly with the lips. When I get a patient here a Launch Box of their own I add a free Acrylic stem.. then I teach them the etiquette of not handing another person a cruddy stem! (same goes with the glass mouthpiece of any vape).
4-The glass stem makes a scary "clink" against the teeth if you are hitting the box while being driven!.. the acrylic made a soft "click"
5- They drop, and break. Locally I know of a few dozen MFLB users. half went acrylic after 1st breakage.
Anyway...
I found a new use for the Coco Tips a friend had given me... I use it as a stem for my MFLB when in public, with only a glass stem on hand.
They are by no means "classy" looking, nor would I like to see them sold with the box... but they are disposable, and inexpensive.. and can fit into an SSV tube... an Extreme Q tube... and Iolite tube,
and NO2 tube, and finally ... yes.. with an MFLB. I keep one with, and am never embarrassed to use it if anyone hands me a cruddy stem/mouthpiece!
It can be used angled up... or down, depending on preference-
(yes.. that is a distiller for Phoenix Tears in the background!)
