You may want to read the recommendations and FAQ sections of the Magic-flight.com website. It contains a lot of the same information as in this thread. In regards to the Iolite specifically, you may want to see page 2 (http://www.fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?id=909&p=2) post #45 (about half way down), where the Box is compared favorably to the Iolite II. There are probably other posts elsewhere, as you look for them.

does a 2500mah battery just last longer than a 2000mah? or does it have any effect on how hot the box can get? because I do notice differences in batteries on how hot the vapor is...tia
I ordered a whole bunch on 2600's online at a decent price. I also got some of the plastic battery cases, very nice. Function with the 2600's is improved, and i like it much better then the "stock" batteries. It does run hotter, with bigger hits. But, for those wondering here and reading the end of this thread this is not a big hit machine, not at all flashy.

I hadn't used mine in a few weeks, and had to run around a lot yesterday on my day off so i brought a full trench. Thing always surprises, minimal visible vapor even in the sunlight but this device does get you high. A real nice light get things done high for me on about a half filled trench. This thing rocks, but as said by others this is not like toking a traditional pipe. Don't expect clouds. That's what my other vapes are for.

so my biggest issue b4 with this box was the batteries i had was loose fitting....ever since i got the powerex batteries, this box is a beast again (I guess my other batteries were just dying from daily usage)....so what has changed is I am now using the whip again....the problem with using it native was that it could get a lil warm and irritating for my throat after prolonged usage...but I used it natively for the advantage of instant feedback particularly useful with loose fitting batteries.....there's a big difference in temp for me native vs whip....glad i added the whip :)

My screen seems to be trying to pull out . I was lookin at the LB site and it sure does look like the new box's are being made with the edge's of the screen more under the wood then my version . Is there any way that I could have my screen replaced ( or replace it myself ) or do I have to buy a newer unit .

From a little searching it seems that the difference between the new box and the older one are , the new one looks to have rounded edge's , the screen is tucked under , there is a light under the screen , the new one does not have a choke hole , the logo is different . I think thats it but I'm no expert .

From your description, it sounds like you have a beta version of the Box. Is there a serial number on the back?

No I dont see a number anywhere .

Edit: Is it bad that I bought a beta version . I really like but I'm worried the screen will get worse .

Not bad from a usability standpoint, but unexpected. No Beta units should have been "sold" -- they were in all cases gifts -- usually with the understanding that they would not be resold (although they could be given away again) and no explicit warranty (for the Beta units). We did not actually start selling anything until production units were available (Production do units have a lifetime warranty). It would be interesting for us to know where it was bought from to see if there is some sort of general stock update that could be made.

If it is working for you now, my suggestion would be to use the Box. If, as you fear might happen, the screen does eventually separate, contact Magic-flight privately via email and we will figure out some arrangement for you.

The Launch Box can surprise you! I went with my friend to a medical marijuana "bar" where they allow you to medicate on premises, on the beach. Bought some Christmas Kush in a joint. So I emptied a tiny bit of the joint into the LB. We fired up his LB and I had about 3 hits because with the first 2 hits I saw no visible vapor and thought I wasn't getting good hits.

Left about 3 min. later and was high as a kite! I had gotten probably twice my normal hit and had not realized it. This is the "danger" of the Launch Box! ;)

However, I have found that with very dry herb, very well ground - almost powder - filled 3/4 of the trench, and a newly charged battery, I can get BIG vapor hits with very visible and plentiful vapor on exhale!

Oh yeah it works , and good . Dont worry about this box , I'll just buy a full kit and keep this one for a back-up . I bought this one from a FC member , not a store .

I've had the LB for over a month now and decided to finally write a quick review here, being it was this thread and the beta thread that convinced me to purchase one in the first place. I figure I owe it to the FC community, where I have been lurking on and off for quite some time now.

Ordering process:
The sale through bisssville was quick and painless. The LB arrived the same week I ordered it. When it arrived it came in a small box, nice and discrete. The charged batteries are definitely a plus, as I was literally vaping within 2 minutes of taking it out of the box.

Initial expressions:
This thing is small. Everybody says that but it's for a good reason. It easily fits into my small carny palm. In use it really looks like I'm just covering my mouth while yawning. The only drawback to the feel of the device is the battery angle. I think that some type of in-line battery placement would be ergonomic for me but I guess it just comes down to personal preference.

Actual usage experience:
Drawing slow is the way to go with this vaporizer. I've found that it takes at least a week of moderate use to really get the draw technique down. Despite this, sometimes I'll hit it like one of my home vapes, which can be frustrating until I realize I need to slow down. Also, I would like to add that "mouth bonging" serves to really increase the intensity of the hit. My friend (who purchased one after using mine once) likes to cough after a hit. He can do this with uncanny regularity with the LB.

Effects:
It works. Quite well, I might add, if you've got a good consistent draw technique. It can get you anywhere you want to go providing you regulate the temperature by leaving the battery for different times at startup. The longer the battery is left in initially the thicker/stronger the hit. Won't really replace any of my home needs, but it is quite sufficient to get at a nice level throughout the day.

Taste:
One drawback to this device is the taste. There is still a distinctly "woody" taste to each hit. This is my biggest complaint with this box. I know it's probably not feasible what with the size of the LB but an all glass vapor path (except for the screen) would be nice.

Overall:
I use this vape more than any other. The fact that something this small works so well is reason enough for me to use it nearly every day. This thing just plain rocks. If the taste issue could get resolved somehow it would be a near perfect portable.

P.S.
Get yourself an aftermarket battery charger and batteries. I would recommend the Energizer NiMH rechargables. They work well and fit well. I have no complaint with these batteries. They last me for 2-4 trenches, which is enough for me to get through my day by "sipping" on the LB. I do, however, always bring some spares along just in case.

I am a little dissapointed in my iolite and am thinking of getting one of these. Anyone else have any experience with both?

I have both, and would highly recommend you get a MFLB. The thing is to get 4-8 extra batteries (read more in earlier post). I have found the trick is timing, and grind. You'll get it down to a science. At first I hit it with a normal grind, twice (shake after every hit) then dump it in my hand and roll it between my fingers and it will be a dust. Now this dust, you can hit and shake about 8-10 more tokes. This is slowly becoming my go to vape.

Thanks. So the MFLB outperforms the iolite?

Well I visited my sister yesterday and she tried my LB... She loved it so much I ended up leaving it with her and ordering another last night :D Funny thing is she was never really a toker...

I have both the LB and a couple IO's... I love them both but for different reasons. The LB does have a bit of a learning curve to it but it is so simple and small... Nice! I don't feel right making too many comparisons in this thread but I will say that I love them both :D :D :D

Outperforms is not the word I would use. I can tell you, the appeal is that you can get a quick stealthy hit anywhere, even places that the IO would be difficult, and I'm talking 10 seconds to get a hit. (preloaded box with fresh battery) The other thing is it's able to get at the edge of combustion, so I would think more CBD's would be released. Trust me, you will not regret adding this to your arsenal.

I have both, the LB and iolite, LB vapor taste better IMO. First few hits taste almost like flower. It's also soundless :ninja: But iolite is great for traveling, because you can easily clean the bowl and put it in your luggage. It's very hard to fully clean the LB, there seem to be a glossy layer of hash right below the screen, there's also a small 'grove' that's hard to be reached even with a small pin, there's risk of damaging the screen while cleaning with a sharp object. Another thing to consider is, iolite claim to work by both: convection and conduction, I think it's true, because each each bowl is evenly extracted without stirring. Both vape has its place IMO, different vape for different occasion. Iolite for camping, fishing, hunting trips or vacation. And LB for everday use at office, school and home! The LB is great, and definitely worth the money! :)

freeman, id get the launch box then. Its cheaper and as people have stated above I also think it tastes better. The LB is great for the outdoors to. I just got mine before thanksgiving but I already take it snowboarding and xc skiing when ever I go. The only outdoor thing I can think of that it wouldnt work well for is extended back packing trips where weight matters and you dont want to take a lot of batteries. Then I would want an IO, or Id just bring my vaporgenie and try to get out of the wind.

After "chloe" showed me his MB, I decided to order my own. I must say that it is an excellent product, though I'm new to vaping, it was really easy to use!

LB produce better hits because it's more tasty, esp with the short peg stem.
