minksta said:Hey everyone I just made a new topic under general vaping discussion specifically for different techniques used to hit the MFLB. This is so people do not have to search through hundreds of pages to find this information on this topic.
If anyone has any good techniques please post them there!!
heres the link...

fubar said:OTOH wading through 410+ pages of posts makes it hard to find interesting stuff - although the vaporpedia article really helps. What to do?
Question for moderators and others: what would you recommend so we can partition the MFLB discussion more sanely without wrecking the structure of your fine forum?

Glad someone read it - please try it - I don't think I've completely lost my mind.
Yes, sipping/microhits are definitely useful techniques, but what I'm after is a more reliable way of minimizing combustion. Most decent vapes have some kind of thermostat built in that does it automagically for you - but with the MFLB, we have to find some other signal that things are getting hot in there...
Pinching the thin straw 'wand' allows me to make a kind of DIY thermostat for the MFLB - heating fingers remind me that it's time to let the battery go for a few seconds - air/straw cool down - battery goes back in - fingers feel heat again - rinse, wash, repeat. It really does work for me.
PhishCactus said:It looks like you packed a lot of weed in there, I would start with a smaller trench, and im not sure what the consensus is on fineness of the grind, but im pretty sure you want to break up your bud more, if you don't have a grinder you can get where you need to be with your fingers as long as your bud isn't ridiculously moist. The brownness isn't bad, grinding more and packing a smaller bowl is probably all you need to improve, and just be sure to shake your box a lot to mix things up and to get an even vape, otherwise you'll have patches of green, or patches of burnt, both are bad.
Good luck!
Mucho Mango said:Hey guys, got my MFLB in the mail today!!! I just wanted an opinion, as I realize I am probably rushing things as I am not familiar with this thing.. And I wanted to see if I was close to 'combusting' my bud.
This is the first trench I had packed, and right now I believe I had filled it a little bit too full..

It doesn't look like what I have seen ABV look like before, like I had said, did I put too much in?
And on my second / third try (sharing with friend), I had put a different type of bud in there and made sure to grind it up as fine as I could.

That's what it looked like when I thought it was finished.. Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm kind of hard of learning new things lol, I just don't want to ruin anything really..
I figure soon enough I'll be vaping like the pros lol.

yeah, the rubberband trick is a definite common one. look a page back and check out the bicycle tire suggestion.
Mucho Mango said:Does anybody keep the rubber band on while using the MFLB?
