Magic Flight Launch Box Power Adapter Review
So I've been using my beta power adapter for almost 3 weeks now, and I feel that I have to post a short review, as I promised to the MF crew.
First, I own an Extreme Q, a VaporGenie, and 2 MFLBs. Before I got the PA, I used the VG to completely cash my loads, since I found that batteries take too long to darken the herbs. Not even my Sanyo XXX batteries seemed to be strong enough for this, so I dumped the trenches in the VG and flamed them until dark brown. The EQ got very little action then.
Since I got the PA, my desk is much cleaner. I don't need the VG, don't need the battery charger and the batteries laying around all the time. I'm a fairly heavy user, used 4+ batteries each day, so charging and maintaining them was a chore.
As others said, the PA is a godsend. It takes the LB, which is already a very good portable vape, and lifts it to the level of desktop vapes. I am most of the time at home, sitting at my computer working or other stuff, so for me it's perfect. I didn't like the EQ's glass parts, and heatup time. The MFLBPA means I can take a hit any time, with no waiting time at all.
I use it at around the 90% setting, and it works spectacularly. I very rarely touch the strength dial, just to make sure it is at the right setting. I live in a 220V area, and they didn't include a plug converter (it is American-style), so I had to hack up a connection for it (don't worry I'm a professional) until I can get a converter. This is not a problem for me, and will probably be solved when the adapter is final.
The only problem I had with it was the loosening of the button end, like others. I noticed that the light is not as bright, and the hits not as warm as when I got the PA (about a week ago). I read back some of the posts who had this problem, and by tightening the part it was back at full power.
I don't have the sliding problem, probably because it's just me using it, and my desk is pretty big and a bit messy, so it's always "fixed" in a convenient place.
All in all I am very satisfied with it, can't really think of any problems. If I'd have to make any suggestions, then it'd be a bigger handle for the battery end. It might sound silly, but designing some kind of a "housing" for it, maybe something you can clip on to it, so it can stay for stealth situations, like in a car. But a larger handle would make it easier to hold it, and maybe would protect it a bit too.
Ok, I think that is enough for a review... I hope MF reads it, greets to Kimberly and Julie, they've been VERY nice to resolve some issues.
