Here's a funny thing.

Today I dropped my freshly loaded LB and one of my two batteries (with a cap on) into my pond.
I said "fuck" a lot of times.
I found the box right away, but the battery took some time. They both slid out of the pocket my sweatshirt. The box was all covered in nasty.
I wiped off the outside on said sweatshirt, then looked at it.
The trench was untouched. I opened it and wiped the wood under the lid with a paper towel.
I found the battery several minutes later and the cap kept the + side completely dry.

Moments later, I felt much better. And now I'm going to change my sweatshirt.

I'd still hit it! pond = algae = more green.muwahahaha  :brow:

After a few trench fulls it kinda feels like I'm not getting the same vapor to air ratio as my older one and I have a theory about why . I know the box is made to limit the amount of thc condensation but it still must get a little and it would happen on any surface thats cooler then ( * the hot area of the screen * this is my guess ) including the non hot parts of the screen like the area's to the sides above the trench , so on my old box that is well used I dont really clean it to much no ISO just brushing and sometimes a good heat up with no herb , that would leave just about all of the screen except for the bottom half of the trench to get not really get clogged up but maybe just a little bit limited air flow through the non-herb area's cause a better v/a ratio . This could be total BS I am vape testing at the moment :ko: :p

edit : I could always just use cooler batteries so I can take a slower draw but I think it will get broke in just fine . Batts Im using now Powerex 2700

LMAO - I love this story. How was the old weed? If the garage gets hot in the summer it might have lost some kick.

I'm going to try it in a couple of hours when I get home from work and I'll post my findings :brow:

I just vaped the mysterious ancient weed that I found last night and am happy to report that it was still very effective :o

The taste was a little odd at first, but I think it was just because it was from a strain that I haven't had in a long, long time. Rip Van Weedkle!

Welcome back, buddy!!

Wait. Did the MFLB seriously just survive a, say 10-20 seconds immersion in water and live to tell the tale? Impressive, but a little hard to believe. Still, it is a pretty simple design and I guess I could see it happen. Wouldn't water just flood in through the batter hole and around the element and waterlog the whole thing?

Says the guy whose had one solid, unshakable mflb for about 7 months.

I believe it. As soon as it dries out, there should be no problem. They're no electronics. Or circuits to worry about.

It was under at least eighteen inches of fishy water for at least 10 seconds. It was hard to tell because it seemed to be in slow motion. Due to the tragic nature.
Don't get me wrong, I don't recommend it. It was clumsy and not on purpose, but it does still work fine (and the trench tasted the way that strain usually tastes).

Honestly, I can't even see cosmetic damage.

So, I read that you should take the battery out after every hit. Now does this mean that it should be completely removed, or is that what the push-back ring is for?

It's kind of a hassle to put the battery in, it doesn't slide in with ease (not that it's hard) - but it's a snug fit ^.^

If you're using the pushback ring, you don't need to completely remove it between its. Just stop applying pressure (stop heating). Those directions are for when there was no push-back ring :peace:

Even without the pushback ring there is no need to completely remove the battery between hits. Just move it back enough stop the heating.

Sorry but I have to say some bad stuff about the mini grinder that comes with the LB but its a must , I havnt really used it yet so this isnt about how well it works but how its made or finished , I guess . To start with anytime I get new stuff like a grinder or vape or jar , I like to clean it out really good to remove any dust , finger prints , or oils that maybe got on it while in production or whatever . I was looking inside the mini grinder and could see some loose stuff , I figured it was just dust so I used a piece of tp to wipe it out , when wiping I noticed the tp was getting stuck to the tops of the teeth of the grinder . After looking better I can see that most of the milled edge ( mostly the teeth ) have a burr of very thin aluminum . I started cleaning the burr off with a razor blade then figured I'll probably never use this grinder for fear of tiny al shavings and just stuck it away . Maybe I just got one from a bad batch , like the tools needed sharpened ? Its the perfect size but I eat my abv so metal shavings are a geat big no no .

I still got much love for the box and MF , but my grinder sucks .

So I just rubbed olive oil on my mflb and then wiped it off with a paper towel. The olive oil make it have a little shine too it which is nice. It's not extremely noticeable but figured I'd just test it out anyways.

Every LB user should own and use a coffee grinder in my opinion. So much easier, so much finer grind!

How much do you coffee grinder people grind at a time? I like the included grinder since its almost the perfect capacity... a little nug that just fills it makes 1.5 trenches. Perfect to tap it into the MFLB and then a pinch to top it off later if needed.

Do you guys do several days worth in advance, or just put a tiny nug into the grinder?

I'll usually grind up about 1/8th oz for my LB and keep it in a plastic prescription bottle. I tried using the tic tac container, but I hated the damn lip on it. I had to "pour" at a much more acute angle to get the herb to dump out over the lip. The prescription bottle has no lip, so it pours nicely into the trench with the tap of a finger. The only downside to this is that anyone of my friends that have a session with me knows about my Cialis use now  .

I began to experience a somewhat dimmer than normal light when I put the battery into position. I just tried pressing on the battery (old habit from using the pushback ring) and the light got brighter. It seems to me that if you just push the battery in and leave it there (obviously this can only be done sans pushback ring) you are not getting as much juice because the connection must not be as good as when pressure is being applied. I have just tested this theory several times by looking at the light and pressing on the battery and releasing over and over. I can now say with certainty that unless the battery has pressure applied to it, you are not getting the full juice that you would get with the pressire applied. It must have something to do with making better contact with the positive connector inside the box. That's the only thing that makes sense to me anyway. Has anyone else noticed this? Or am I crazy?

Stu you are not crazy. Mine does the exact same thing and it drives me NUTS! I either have to keep pressure straight on hard and/or apply some angular pressure on the battery or rotate it until the light goes bright.

Hopefully magic-flight can address this issue with some kind of modification in the future as I think it is a big reason for a lot of inconsistent results some people get using their LBs.

I'll grind up 2 grams and fill up an empty tic tac container.

I've been doing the same thing. Been using a Tic Tac container and it works great imo!!

You don't find that "tic tac lip" to be irritating when dispensing the goodies?

For wandering out I' use old cleaned and sterilized contact lense containers. I like to have different flavors so the two seperate compartment works well for me.

i agree, although i just used my magic bullet  for the first time to grind bud, same concept, and it worked amazingly!, i grinded about a 1-2 grams, got enough keif collected in the ridges in the container to fill a little more than a trench :brow:
Although vapeworld just sent me a free two piece solid aluminum grinder and a free 3 piece plastic grinder, bless their hearts (really good customer service i highly highly recommend buying anything from them from grinders to vapes) i dont think they or my 4 piece will see much or any use at all since i dont combust anymore. The coffeegrinder/magic bullet gets a perfect powder consistency in like under 30 seconds.
