I fired up my new box for the first time yesterday.

Holy. Shit.

just wanted to thank everyone here for the informative thread, and magicflight for an awesome product.

i knew nothing about this thing (or any vape sub-Volcano price) until i stumbled across the Launch Box browsing on Amazon a few months ago.
total vape virgin - never seen or used one in my life.

i was intrigued and reviews on Amazon were very positive.
further research led me here,
and after reading the first 142 pages of this thread over the course of 5 evenings, i had this bad boy ordered from VapeNow via Amazon
(next day delivery, of course).

both my wife and i were absolutely astounded with the efficiency and stealth of this little thing.
first week or so with the Box came w/ a few blackened or cherried trenches...
but after a bit you get familiar with the Box's rhythm and get your own little system down and it is just a killer.

best purchase i've made in years!

and thanks to everyone else here on fc i've successfully made a knockout batch of abv brownies w/ zero effort.
and plan on getting another LB so i don't have to share.
and i have a Cloud on pre-order.

I was nervous about the supposed learning curve, but it's really common sense(so far). The little guy works exactly as intended and seems to be a perfect fit for mobility.

I'll write something up a little more concise when I'm not completely obliterated.. woops.


I do have a general use question about it that I have not seen in the (recent) thread or wiki entry; when you say fill the trench- is it up over all the screen or is it just the trench? Is there a downside to really loading the trench up if you know you're going to be out all day?

I feel the same way! lol Such a great resource this forum is but it makes you want ALL the great vapes people rave about. I am getting a cloud and then I am done......for awhile at least......or maybe not

I load it all the way up over the shoulders if I know I am going to be out for a long time......after a few hits I dump the load in my hand and crush it even further. Since its drier it crumbles very easily and you lose some volume so it will then fill the trench perfectly.

You only fill the trench. Don't go over. If you grind extremely fine, you will get a lot of hits in.

Im wondering, if you get it new cant you just run a couple batteries through to break it in?
I want to use it for stealthiness so I need it to be really stealthy on my first use.

I would just suggest trying it in a private environment before you try to be stealthy about it. This would be said about any device.


I do have a suggestion for the vendor though, can you make a left handed version?

Well how much does it initially smell? I have my own apartment the problem us I can occasionally smell what my neighbors are cooking. So i just want to make sure it won't initially stink ip my whole place like a bowl would.

On the issue of the light, I find it handy as hell to see battery strength on the go and to confirm actual battery contact - something that is more of an issue on newer models than on older ones. I would definitely miss having it.

My MF seems to have mellowed, less green/black, batteries last a long time.

I find getting a good rope in the native configuration is noticeably more difficult than with the tube. Anyone else find this?

On the issue of "running hot" - I let the battery make contact, wait 2.5 - 5 seconds, and inhale for 5 to probably not even 10 seconds. Vapor seems usually seems dense and warm enough for that to be enough. Maybe it is running hot, other people comment on taking 15 second inhales. Even if my unit doesn't "improve" from this point, I'm still pleased with it.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the dark trench problem". I'm guessing you mean the comments from a lot of new users about getting uneven heating, resulting in a green-black mix. If that is the case, you can minimize this problem or avoid it altogether by grinding almost to powder, not overloading the trench, drawing smoothly and gently but not for long, and shaking or tapping to mix thoroughly after every hit. Slower and longer draws are hotter and will exacerbate your problem. Until you get your technique down, I strongly advise that you turn out the load after a couple of hits and crumble it with your fingers.

All that has nothing to do with batteries. I think you're referring there to the comments that mention a break-in period doing which the LB runs hotter. I didn't have that experience, so I have no idea whether running batteries through it would help. I do know it isn't a good idea to leave the battery in for too long. It probably won't damage the LB but it could certainly damage the battery. If you try that, do something like a minute at at time, then let everything cool down before the next cycle.

None of the above has much to do with stealth. If you are sneaking your first hit in your bedroom with Mom right outside (for example) then you need to be really careful, because it is easy to make a mistake and wind up in a coughing fit. Real short hits until you know what you can handle.

The more you use it, you will become more familiar with the box and be able to tell without the light easily.

For me, native mode gets me the best hits. I have no problem using the stem though.

Hey thanks you answered most of my questions. The problem is that while I live in my own apartment, I can occasionally smell what the neighbors are cooking, so I just dont want to smoke up the whole apartment. So im mainly worried about just being able to keep the smell low enough so that it cant travel through vents or anything.

Hey! i just realized i think i have the 15 minute battery charger.... ummm its WHITE and has the MF logo on it. Is it the 15 minute charger? i dont get it because I recently bot the MFLB and I didn't think they still shipped the crappy 15 min chargers.. Please let me know!

Oh my lord my magic flight launch box came in the mail today and I am thoroughly impressed with this exquisite product.

From the time i opened the box to twenty minutes later i was more vaked off of .025g than i was high earlier when I combusted :/ a large bowl that was probably around .4 to.6g

this thing is amazing, worth every penny

reading through all 222 pages of this thread was hard work
but it all payed off when my vape arrived today and i knew exactly how to use it
sorry if im rambling, but this is the first time ive ever vaped before and i am out of my mind.

It comes with two short size acrylic mouthpieces (missing from new launchboxes) which is nice. I actually slid on a bitching glass mouthpiece from a hookah I have, decommissioned because of its broken downstem. It's nice having a substantial piece of glass art as part of your vaping experience - really rounds out this vape and classes it up. Just looking at the whipped mflb makes me want to use it, kind of like how a nice car makes you want to drive it and looking at an attractive member of the opposite sex makes you want to.. Yeah.

I now use the short stem more than the long one. I was walking along the street in SF today vaping a trench, concealed in my palm with the short stem keeping it nice and comfortable.

8/10 has crept to 9/10, trenches are browning more regularly. 10/10 if they figure out a way to do extracts...

as a person I am curious as to where the heat comes from so I held the battery in to warm the unit up and had the cover open.
there was some herbs in the "trench" and I gently poked my finger around to feel where the heat was hottest and it started getting smokey like.
I closed the lid and pulled as soft and long and possible producing a cloud when I exhaled.
after 3 hits the herbs are almost black!
any "user" powered vape the key is slow is hot and fast is cool sometimes TOO cool.

Charlie-i've done 25+ smallish dabs in my LB with no ill effects. They're hot, harsh hits, but you can always send it thru a tube or bub.

my bho doesn't hurt the screen at all as far as i can tell.

Yes i did buy the whip and i used it for like two hits last night, i like it but i think i like the stem or native better. I just bought it to hook the mflb up to my 14mm waterpipe. I dont have one of those adapters but plan on using the rubber band method that was posted previously in this thread. My abv is pretty dark brown and im just assuming it will become an even brown once, i get my 2 piece grinder that didnt come , and once the box gets over the initial hot period. The only trench ive loaded in it was also like 1/4 full so maybe i should try a full trench but i flipped the load after every hit.. This thing is amazing tho, i think im going to load up a trench right now.

His name is buzz - how original, i know, but his predecessor was woody so it was a logical progression
