I like the discreet packaging VapeWorld has and the fact that I can get a free grinder along with 3 day max shipping without even paying retail price for the Launch Box. I'm planning on ordering the product to my parents house and all of these factors would allow me to intercept the package before they even see it. If they did get the package before me, the packaging is so discrete that my parents would be unaware of its contents so that's my backup plan. I don't want the quality of my vaporizing to be affected though, thoughts?sfld said:I got no clue, all i know is blisssville is the actual site of the magic-flight, so in a sense your ordering directly from them. If vapeworld still has other models in stock, you would be getting a semi-old one
I'm exactly like you and that's why I'm here posting, haha. I like to have the newest model, but I would settle for less to ensure my security and save a little money as long as it doesn't affect my vaporizing.sfld said:I dont know, maybe I have OCD but i like getting the newest model of something lol. And usually i like ordering directly from the actual company, so maybe thats why i ordered blisssville. I dont know how they package it though, but im willing to guess most people wouldnt even know what it is when they would see it in the mail...battery charger and what not lol
However if you got a grinder with it, i think they would be able to tell lol
That sounds like a warranty issue on the batteries. 2000 mAh batteries (shipped) should provide 5 minutes of vapor draw time. Assuming 15 second "standard" hits, people should get appx 20 hits worth per battery -- 15 hits reliably, or if taking 12 hits per filling (complete cashed), somewhat more than 1 bowl. Also, the charger (also bundled) should completely charge the batteries in 4 hours. The 8 hour charger was discontinued in December -- perhaps they have an older unit with worn out batteries? We can at least upgrade their batteries.max said:I keep hearing complaints about battery life during use. The last one I saw (maybe not here) was a comment like 'I heard the battery only lasts 2-3 hits and then you have to recharge for 8 hrs.' Those would be some super long hits.(longer in use time -- more hits).
In regards to the choice, this is correct. However, the high-drain batteries will only provide about 30% longer in use time (say, six solid minutes of "burn" time) which may or may not be significant (ie, that is the question). However, the high-drain batteries need to be "topped off" every three days or so, but have the advantage that they can be put in a 15 minute charger. The LSD batteries, on the other hand, will remain "ready for use" once they are fully charged for months at a time -- people do not have to remember to put them back in the charger as frequently, or keep them there, to be usable. Unfortunately, the LSD batteries do not handle 15 minute chargers as well -- they need a slower, more accurate charger. All of this affects customers, even though they may not be aware of the technical details. Obviously, we want the most people to have the best possible experience of the Box.max said:magicflight, you seem to be presenting a choice between the regular and slow discharge (Eneloop) type of battery. Since, as stated above, I'm seeing complaints about 'in use' time, and considering that the vast majority of people don't even know about slow discharge bats, I'd vote for the regular, "more hits" type.
Right, there's no question that, for you in your situation, the current type is the ideal choice. But a lot of new LB owners dont already have good rechargeables to use with the box and just stick with using the 2 included batteries exclusively. Using one while the other charges. I think that the other type would be better for these ppl, and since I think these ppl are a majority of MF customers, goin with the other battery type will please more ppl in the long run. Especially since ppl like you, who are well-informed enough to appreciate the differences in the battery technology, will probably already have "aftermarket" batteries and chargers to use with the LB anyway.OC513 said:personally I vote for the LSD (current batteries). For me I want my batteries to STAY charged.....I, like I think most LB users, have a few sets of batts and I like the fact that if I use one set and have to reach for another they still work great even if I have not had them on the charger for a week or so. In my opinion that is worth more than having an extra 30% batt life.......or as Magic Flight said 6 minutes burn time instead of 5 minutes. Having batteries that are ALWAYS ready to use is key for me. I do not want to have to worry if the batts were topped off in the last 3 days. I want to know they will work regardless. just my
That is exactly how I feel. I need the batteries to work, regardless.OC513 said:personally I vote for the LSD (current batteries). I agree completely. I have 8 batteries, which is too much. I find I cycle through 6 and always have a charged battery on hand. I like knowing that they are ready to go, so I would vote for the current style batteries.I think anyone who uses an LB quite regularly should have more than the 2 batteries. I had 8, gave away 2 w/ my current backup. 6 means 2 can be charging and still have 4 to take about. I like knowing I can rotate them and know they're fully charged whether I charged them yesterday or a week ago.
I respectfully disagree, at least from what I see my friends doing. I have now had 7 friends order a LB since I got mine and showed it to them. I told each one to order an extra set of batteries, which I think anyone who does the research before they order will do. If you have 2 or more sets of batteries I think it is better to have them stay charged than to get an extra few hits out of each battery. As per Magic Flights post the new batteries would get 6 minutes burn time as oppoesed to 5 minutes.....if you are taking 15 sec average hits(which I think is fair because in my crew some guys take 20 sec hits and some take 10 sec hits) thats an extra 4 hits per battery.....is that worth it knowing you will HAVE TO top off every 3 days or you may grab batts that are dead and not find out until you are out and really need them? imo absolutely not. Now if you could say double the burn time on different batts I would think its a fair trade off but not for an extra 4 hits. This is me as well. I can't have a battery that is dead a few days after charging. I like to charge it and know it is ready when I want to travel. The batteries that shipped with the beta were junk compared to what was included in my production box in March/February. The batteries I have now work perfect for me, as does the included charger.OC513 said:personally I vote for the LSD (current batteries). Wait a minute.....aren't the current batteries provided by MF the LSD type? I thought I was following, but this gave me pause for thought. I'm confused. Maybe it's all the LSD I used to do.for those of us scratching their heads. LSD?
Low Self Discharge (LSD) batteries....
For those of us who bought the LB with the NiMH Sanyos, perhaps M-F will add LSD batteries in their accessories section.
Kinda nice to have both types, 2B prepared for all eventualies. ; /
