Why would it be normal for other vapes to produce very visible vapor clouds but with this product you aren't supposed to get any? I'll pass for one of the heavy hitters.

Because some other vapes (I might agree with 'most', but not all) use much more power and larger loads to deliver at a higher rate. That's not what this device is all about, really. It will extract 'all' the vapor and deliver it to the user and while you might not like the rate it does that with the techniques you're using it's hard to expect any vape to do more than extract what you give it to work with.

Lots of power and bigger loads doesn't make it possible as much as easier to do I think.

Work on your technique. Very well cured herb (dry), ground fine, filled no higher than the rails, freshly charged appropriate batteries and controlling the heat will get you the best results I think. And shake, shake, shake between hits.

It is a heavy hitter and it produces pretty large clouds

Amen. It sure can. There are entirely too many videos of guys seriously 'chalking' up their WTs with the box to say it can't happen.

While I don't consider myself a clown nor a rocket scientist, I have been an electrician since 1965, a journeyman electrician since 1972, and a master electrician since 1976. I converted production equipment to computer control for the last fifteen years before I retired. While I do not want to belittle the MFLB, (kudos to whoever wrote the CNC program, and the thought that went into the design of it), but this thing is about as complicated as an "Easy-Bake Oven". I've owned one for over a year, as a matter of fact I joined this forum right after I got it. I also have an Orbiter, a PA 2.0, a PNWT, and an Indica Noir. I just thought if people would break it down to the "smallest common denominator" it would be easier to grasp the concept. I'm a firm believer in K.I.S.S. It's not necessary to know Ohm's Law to use it.

P.S. I'm not trolling, just stating my opinion. For what it's worth.

Uhm are you saying all pliers or hammers are made equally? Because the mflb may be able to produce somewhat big hits with technique, but other vapes can produce bigger with less effort. To me it isnt worth the effort, maybe if you have a smaller tolerance it will satisfy. And ppl may say its a small load but the e-nano is too but is very easy to get clouds with.

No, not at all. Consider the root of the quote: if a craftsman can't do a craftsman like job with the tools he's selected he should not blame the tools. Either his choice of tools is at fault (not the case here I think) or his skill using them is lacking.

If it's too much trouble for you (or anyone else) that I think is a separate case. The point is the MFLB is not the problem, it can perform. If it doesn't meet your expectations (and is otherwise not defective), make a better choice?

Bad is I think unfair. Inappropriate, perhaps, but it's a good vape and you're a reasonable fellow (at least seem to be). Like many things in life, a poor match in this case. No fault either way on that.

MFLB uses about 1/8 gram, but only a small fraction of that, the herb directly in contact with the mesh, is involved in any individual hit. If you want more and easier vapor something like a Solo or Ascent might 'fit your pistol' better? Caution is advised there as well, being portables they too have extra limitations/trade offs. If you can live with a plug, HA and a whole host of proven winners are on the list? Good (automatic) temperature control should be part of the decision I think?

Better 'luck' on the next purchase.

Also important for the OP to realize, EVERY portable has areas that can be improved and they each have their individual drawbacks.
Let's take the solo for example; I love the device and the clouds but it's got a much more restrictive draw than most. Wouldn't be suitable for individuals with lung strength limitations especially. The mflb is a loose draw in comparison but with a steeper learning curve.

I'm not sure I agree with that. No, after a bit of reflection and being just such an individual sometimes, I don't agree. Many MJ types like Solo I think, it's the cloud chasers that have 'I can't get the huge clouds I want' blues?

Solo, like the rest, is a compromise. But it will make medically useful vapor and easily deliver it to those of us who have respiratory issues in many cases. Most I would say? We just take it in slower (as it's produced) and don't focus on the clouds but the effect? It's been said a lot 'over there' if you think it's too restricted you're probably hitting it too hard. Like MFLB, it's not made to do that?

In the end, I think we all have to take responsibility for researching against our needs and wants and make the best decision possible.......I'd just like to see that be as informed a choice as possible.

Thanks.

Interesting, you do raise some valid points. I think we can both agree that around these forums, the solo is known for clouds even with a (my opinion) restrictive draw. There are portables with easier air flow but different setbacks (durability for one).

You said you bought a ' used ' mflb .
What condition was the trench screen ?
Was it clean or stained ?
I ask , b/c that can have an effect on performance too .

regardless the restrictive draw debate, your initial point about every portable unit having its own drawbacks is still valid. take the size of the solo or the new kids on the block, the mighty and the crafty, for example. it's a game of personal priorities and preferences in the end.

Very true, basically it's
A. Do your research
B. Evaluate options
C. Decide what drawbacks you can live with
D. Vape away

I quickly sold it, and went for a whipstyle vape as I enjoyed the vapor bros one I had as my first vape. I got the ssv and enjoyed that for a while, just got a e-nano a week or so ago and am pleased with that the most. I know have a cloudevo on the way which I believe may be my favorite of all of them lolol. But thanks for your input I saw some videos with the mflb and water pipe adapter after the mentions of big hits, those looked intriguing and I could see ppl enjoying this vape.

I don't get it. The little , simple , damn near unbreakable LB when hooked up to a PA can produce clouds that will choke me even through a water tool. I just crank up the PA and have at it. Watch out for combustion.
I've gone back to Batts and hitting it native for that all so unique , intimate vape signature.
The fact that on a windy hike I can get the same experience is a mflb exclusive. Hey

to each their own.

I've always wondered about this. Is it possible to go through a load with no visible vapor

Sorta. I played with the idea early on, even thought I had it sorted out.

Then I went outside one afternoon when 'dappled light' coming down through a large bush showed me that such lighting made my stealth efforts look like a rock concert fog machine........

It was kinda fun, though.

F. Vape away some more, and spend excess money on accessories when the vape of choice excites you...

G. Save up some bucks for the next vape.

Does the power adapter work with no power outlet, like portably?

No. It plugs into an ac wall outlet or a dc vehicle cig lighter outlet

Or some other DC source. Check out the battery pack below, now the 3rd version of this idea. It was originally to take my PD into the garden, then changed (shortened cord) to power the MFLB PA. Finally a last change to this version (it's at the front, the output connector is just above it, the PA plugs in there):

In use I've had the batter and PA in my coat pocket. Works great, but you need to remember to charge the batteries. IIRC it provides about 90 minutes of continuous heating, a LOT of vaping for the little guy. It also recharges Solo well (it lives in a side pocket in the camera case), it's major use in it's 3rd life.......

Stupid question, but is the new power adapter worth asking around for, or is the difference trivial? I'm considering getting one but the new plug is still so new that websites haven't updated their photos.

Happy 1000 pages!

I see it as mostly a reliability thing but if you don't overly stress the junction between the cord and the faux battery you should be fine without the collar. However I don't have a new PA so I could be very wrong.

To me it seems like too much to be lugging around, I'd be more interested in the crafty or mighty for portable then have to have battery pack & power adapter in pocket. All that fiddling takes away from my high.

I'm not into the crafty or mighty, but if that's your gig, go for it! We all like different things, and that's okay!
