I have always liked the look of the OGB one you helped design, but it was a tad expensive. I am sure it would be a lot higher quality than the DHGate one.

Totally, the price went up after my custom, though I have a previous version I cannot use, so it kind of evens out, yeah I think the new current design is very good, but it is quite pricey, the quality I'm sure is great, but I think this one should still be quite solid and even though it's not a sidecar it has all those cooling spike dimples to boot!

Yeah, I ordered it the other day. I don't have any j-hooks other than the sherlocky Grav one I originally got from Lotus which is 14mm, so this one with the nipples should be a decent piece to try out with the TM.

I know Lotus didn't make a metal j-hook, but when when you mentioned them it reminded me of their stainless wpa. That is one of the greatest "gongs" of all time. I have one around here somewhere. They are indestructable. One of those in a 14mm ss j-hook would be wicked steampunk.

I bought a second WPA from them when they were preparing to shut down. I never really used the larger aluminum stem I got with the Lotus, just always use the WPA. A very small (but extremely effective) vape that mates with almost any glass piece, even a simple ash catcher with that J-hook.

Yeah, I think I bought the same set, the grav j-hook, wpa, and the Al stem. The stir stick on my cap fell off and went to heaven a long time ago. It was actually the Lotus on the Al stem that was my DD for a least a year before transitioning to an e-nano. It was fun using the j-hook because you could watch the vapor stream. That grav j-hook is pretty solid and still exists today.

Well, they are 18.8mm joints so you would need an adapter. Better I think to start with 14mm joints but you could do it.

The difference between those two is the stem size, the second one is only 12 mm with smaller spikes, the first one is 16 mm...

$18 off isn’t much of a deal, but I guess if he’s open to haggling at all it might be a great pickup. I was a little tempted myself, but the joint is so close to where the glass goes up that I don’t think it would be ideal with my p80 or log .

Yeah, but it is ready to ship now as well, I had the temptation but zero need of course haha I do think that joint does look very close, but I don't think it would be a problem when you have the stem connected, I think both log and tetra could clear just like a TM?

I think the tetra would be fine sideways. I don’t think the woodscents would clear it unfortunately. Good lookin out flagging it up here either way!

Yeah, but they’re like the size of a dynavap. The way the joint is just in front of the long piece that goes straight down from the mouthpiece I don’t think there’s be quite enough clearance for it. I think if I’m spending ogb money I’d just go custom and ask if he can do a spiked sidecar or make the piece that’s running parallel to the floor when the j hook is in use a little longer for more clearance if that makes sense? I thing rogue wax works said he’d have more in stock last week but I didn’t see any end up on his site, I might start with one of those to see how if j hooks are for me. Kinda surprised I’ve gone this long without one. After getting my p80 I went from vaping primarily through water to mostly dry for the flavor.

You are correct. I've got this J-Hook from OGB and use a 14/18mm Glass Adapter with the Tetra P80. The joint is very tight but there is about an 1/8 of an inch of clearance between the J-Hook and the Tetra P80. While this J-Hook is expensive, I've found it to be a great compliment to the P80, as I find the P80's airflow to be so wide open. The J-Hook has just enough spikes that it helps me to slow down my draw speed enough to get nice big hits that are still cool.

I spoke with an austrian Wood/glassmaker and to see if he would do an oregon glass blower spiked jhook and He told me that normal glass hooks often broke after they cooled down. It only works with boro he said and he didnt have it.. I saw myself with a very Long spiked j hook in my intermediate Future, but it didnt Happen. Maybe i ask these chinese dudes.

Oh hey looks like they already changed the design on the other Lumin88 hook, two different styles available now, more expensive you have to buy four at a time though, you can get more of flared trumpet or a pinched flat mouthpiece (the latter makes it much more tempting for me though I still don't really need it and certainly do not need four, but if someone wants to buy them and sell me one... Please let me know!)

Edit: actually I may just do it and sell them myself afterward! Could be good to have...

This was a helpful back and forth for me and I agree with both of you about the unfortunate angle on that reddit hook.

I've been considering an OGB 14mm Sherlock for the Anvil to avoid using a reducer on my 18F. I think I'm gonna hold off and see how the Anvil plays with what I have now. I followed recommendations from @Shit Snacks and have some dropdowns coming from Dhgate too.

I saw a smooth criminal on reddit rocking a Founders Anvil with a cheap j-hook and have been curious to try it since. Can't find the clip or I'd share it. His j-hook wasn't shit anyway

Looks like my lumin88 18mm j-hooks are out for delivery. I won't get to vapor test one till this evening, but I should get a look at them in an hour or two. I am most curious about the angle of the joint and how well the TM will fit. I'm sure I can always load it perpendicularly if necessary...

Yeah, I’d be in for one of those flattened mouthpiece models if you end up ordering 4 . It’s tempting to do it myself, but I don’t think I’ll realistically have the time to box and ship 3 glass hooks out in the near future.
