2.325"What diameter is your shield?
I pitched the idea of the 1.5" glass shield. It would get real hot.

That second part probably accounts for the difference. Air entering from inside the front recess will be even hotter than air entering from the rear of the core. Good to know, ty!2.325"
I'm also getting my air from inside the heat shield. instead of up the rear.
Reply to your order email, I'll get you squared away.Hey @RedEyeFlightControl ,
Any word on when you'll have replacement parts in?
I've been lovin this beast since Friday.
I got home today and decided I was gonna "center" the bulb and the unthinkable happened...
I barely touched the the table but it was enough to throw the black outer tube off balance and right to the tile floor.
I'm so pissed at myself right now!

Do note that the color of the glass plays a role in heater efficacy. The next best performer was Cobalt Blue. Lighter tubes do not retain as much heat, which is why black was selected. You will likely see a small but noticeable performance hit from lighter colored glass. Black loves to absorb radiation, so we use that to our advantage.in order to keep the airflow, yes cut off one end, secure somehow to the core. There are other colors available that may allow the light to shine through for those that like it that way.
Im also thinking about a few other similar materials that would be inexpensive, insulate from the heat, increase thermal mass, and yes protect from drops!
I’m not expecting a quick easy solution but ya never know what I’ll come up with next!
I meant colored silicone handles. For example.Do note that the color of the glass plays a role in heater efficacy. The next best performer was Cobalt Blue. I know. I just wanted to point this out, in case others were considering different color glass. A silicone wrap will probably give back way more insulation than black glass, so you may be on to something there. Just some characteristics for consideration.I meant colored silicone handles. Doing my best to do these weekly. Right now it's dependent on what parts I have in stock. I'm STILL waiting on a glass order from 2 months ago which is critical to processing kits past the next 2-3 drops, otherwise I'm going to have to get creative again.Any Eta on when new kits are available ? please sign me up.
Thanks much and wish you the best. Luv my HighlighterDoing my best to do these weekly. Right now it's dependent on what parts I have in stock. I'm currently working on procuring commercial levels of parts so stock becomes a non-issue going forward. Right now stock availability is based on these first drops to ensure the product is commercially viable and sustainable over long term. Because this business is in startup mode. these drops are seeding growth to keep this and other projects going. There are a lot more moving parts than most people realize! Nearly everything is long, long hours and reinvestment at this point. I'm routinely working into the wee hours every night after my day job to coordinate all of this, while still building kits out, and managing my own retail presence... all while working 40+ hours a week FTE and managing a house full of kids and pets. The Lab is my fun side project; it's a passion project I built because I LOVE seeing other people genuinely smile when they use something I made. It warms my heart and you just can't buy that kind of goodwill.
It's nice to see some light at the end of the guessing game tunnel, though! Thank goodness for cannabinoids!!!
Thanks again @RedEyeFlightControl for getting me back up and running so fast.Reply to your order email, I'll get you squared away.
Five vertical slits in the core.
First pic you can see the cuts.
Second pic you can see the light shining through them.
