Agree,256 is alot..and if you then do the programming in assambler language..HEAPS moore.
256K is heaps. People can do staggeringly amazing things in even just 64K. The 64K "demo" programming scene is well-established.
Plus tweaks for this thing would just be stuff like customising text labels in the interface; font/size/colour/location/text, tweaking animations, and so on. Maybe uploading custom splash-screens or other graphics, etc. Could even have interface themes available to download and flash, etc, maybe even user-created themes...
Though I'm sure if someone felt creative enough, they could whip up a hidden Space Invaders Easter egg or something; there's enough buttons on the unit for "left", "right" and "fire", at least. The complete code of the original arcade game only takes up an 8K ROM image.
