256K is heaps. People can do staggeringly amazing things in even just 64K. The 64K "demo" programming scene is well-established.

Plus tweaks for this thing would just be stuff like customising text labels in the interface; font/size/colour/location/text, tweaking animations, and so on. Maybe uploading custom splash-screens or other graphics, etc. Could even have interface themes available to download and flash, etc, maybe even user-created themes...

Though I'm sure if someone felt creative enough, they could whip up a hidden Space Invaders Easter egg or something; there's enough buttons on the unit for "left", "right" and "fire", at least. The complete code of the original arcade game only takes up an 8K ROM image. :p

Agree,256 is alot..and if you then do the programming in assambler language..HEAPS moore.

2K is more than enough to get +/- 1°F temperature control. plus shut off timer. plus two button control. plus signal LED. using assembly language.

This is the last set of images I have from the trip down... and also my favorite.

Josh was kind enough to open up the device and let me take some pictures of the actual internals!

This is what impressed me so much... this thing I stacked. I mean he loaded it full of stuff and I am not sure there is any more room in this thing. What really impresses me is their thoughts/process of design. I noticed this, but Josh confirmed it. The insides of the verbalizer reminded me of the human skeletal/muscle/organs system. There is a hard ridged "skeleton" that holds all of the internal organs of the Herbalizer in place.

The short time I spent with the device really made a huge impression on me. I seriously have had some dreams about using the device since I tried it last April. I can't wait to see how things develop from here, and I am sure everyone at the Herbalizer world domination headquarters is really feeling the anticipation of Champs and the impending work towards release.

Ohhhh... just so people who were worried about connecting it to a water pipe... don't you can hook it up quite easily and it works really well. I have a video of me using a water pipe I need to edit and upload.

jk , don't want to mess with an mma fighter .

It's supposed to be engineered by NASA engineers . in short .
Look for Slim's reviews .

Always with the jokes, haha its cool I read some pages. im just wondering how suppose better than vapexhale eagle or sublimator

The extremely quick and accurate temperature control is one of its biggest selling points for me.

It is also the only one of those three that has fan assisted delivery and the ability for bags:2c:

But we don't really know all that much yet, I'm guessing we will have a lot more information with the upcoming debut.

I couldn't tell from the earlier cutaway diagram, since the air source was in the "missing" half of the cutaway, but I was hoping this thing used a diaphragm pump on a switchable valve to fill bags. However it looks like the air source is just a centrifugal fan like on the Extreme Q. A much bigger one, and apparently better-sealed to the air path, but just a fan nonetheless. Fans don't handle the high back-pressure of a packed load like a proper pump will, because if pressure differential gets high enough, air can always squeeze backwards through the gaps between the blades. (Oh well, I won't use the bags much anyway, I suppose, and it should still fill them a lot better than the Q)

Also, all those space age materials and NASA background and they use wood to insulate the heater chamber? It's a sensible choice I guess, and should work really well, but it does feel a bit stylistically out of place. :p

There is no wood in the Herbie that I know of.

BTW, there are 3 separate fans that make this baby tick. The bag we blew was the thickest bag of vapor I had ever seen. I'm not a bag guy, but I was impressed with the unit's ability to fill bags with dense vapor. Volcano-heads will be impressed.

That is just an illusion. It is an effect caused by the 3D printing and the material color.

Indeed there are three fans. :) They all do various tasks from bag inflation to aromatherapy dispersion.

Oh good, so it's high-temp plastic like I'd originally assumed from the illustration. Man that last shot really looks like freshly-machined wood, though.

There's only one centrifugal fan, though, which is the bag filler. These develop less free-air flow than axial fans (like the other two in there), but better static pressure under load, making them more suitable to blowing up bags. Still very low pressure compared to a diaphragm pump, but less noisy and doesn't need a bypass valve to enable whip use. Theirs seems to be at lest several times the casing volume of the Extreme Q's filler fan, though, so I'm sure it's gonna perform a lot better.

Here is a quote from their Facebook page.

Shoutout to our friends at FC: We really love the thread and intelligent dialogue, even down the appreciating the design tradeoffs between a centrifugal fan and diaphragm pump (and yes, there is less back-pressure for balloon fill so for several bags of ultra dense vapor the chamber should be filled 50%), however the fan we put in there for you has more than 10x power that of the ExtremeQ and isextremely quiet and optionally gives a super smooth "boost" during whip usage. This post isn't about the fans though, it is in recognition that we are So excited to read that you understand the benefits of the decisions that went into marrying functionality, performance and design. We are very excited to get them into your hands (soon) and let you discover the new possibilities of vaporization.

From a medical prospective a diaphragm pump would seem like the only option since fans will accumulate dust and possibly due to friction, release other contaminants into the air.

Not a dealbreaker though since you will not be breathing from it all day like a ventilator.

Are all 3 of those fans hooked into the heating path? I see the large blower is connected to the heating chamber through a small duct but it's hard to make out how the other 2 are.

Information about release was a page back or so, going to be debuted late this month if I recall correctly.

No price has been given yet.

Should prolly go look at this... http://www.herbalizer.com/pre-order/

plus they have some new pictures up on the site too... very cool that you can store a oil jar inside the lid with the stash box. i really dont want this to be a $500 vape... im going to be very disappointed if it is cause that will kill my piggy bank and ensure i wont be able to afford one.

Some things I wanted to point out from the new site.

First of all since Stu and I tested the device the temprature settings have changed:

Able to reach and maintain consistent temperatures of 290° – 445°F (140° – 230°C) to within +/- 5°F (+/- 3°C)—no matter how fast air is drawn.

Has this feature been discussed here yet:

...while the Herbalizer’s 3-axis accelerometer senses accidental tilt and automatically shuts off so you can breathe easy.'

Hmm, how sensitive is that censor I wonder? This unit is definatly a table top only unit if it has tip censor.

Pro or con? Thoughts?

I'm not seeing the point of this. Why is it vital the unit shut off if disturbed or even tipped over? Sounds like it would just get in the way when trying to connect it directly to a water piece (with a bent adapter or something).

Also, with all the discussion of voltage compatibility over in the Cloud thread, I suddenly realise I don't know if the Herbalizer is uni voltage, or if it'll be 110v-only? If the former, do we know if there will there be a 240v model at the same time, or any time soon? I just signed up on the preorder page and while they ask for city and state, they don't ask for country, which kinda hints that they're not considering the world market a priority, if at all. :c

I wonder why they're starting at 290°F? Several medicinal herbs vaporize at much lower temps. They're marketing the Herbalizer as a vape not just for Cannabis, but for all different kinds of herbs, and making a case that temperature accuracy is great to get exactly what you need. By way of comparison, the Ascent starts off at Zero degrees...

Why make it so you have to set a higher temp than needed? Off the top of my head, Chamomile, Lavender, Eucalyptus and Blue Lotus all vaporize at much lower temps, and I'm sure there are more. I guess it's not that important if you can still get your goodies at 290°F, but still...

I think you may have mis-read Slim's post .
He said
It's able to reach and maintain at that temp ., not a starting point .
